American
Somerset is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving American cuisine from Michelin-starred Chef Lee Wolen (Boka) and the acclaimed Boka Restaurant Group. The locally sourced menu features what Chef Wolen describes as "food people like to eat." Menu highlights include the Whole Roasted Chicken (for two), Smoked Beet Tartare, seasonal flatbreads, as well as housemade pastas. Pastry Chef and Jean Banchet Award Winner Meg Galus has crafted the dessert program including whimsical takes on classic favorites.

The interiors, designed by James Beard Award winning design firm Avroko, are inspired by a new-fashioned take on American Country Club culture.

Burger is on the small side but very good but they don’t have mustard, only grey poupon.

We had a party of 8... had a great table upstairs overlooking the bar & seated below. Waitress was amazing - attentive but not bothersome when we wanted to talk - and helpful with menu suggestions. We celebrated my sister’s 50th bday & everything was perfect.

We went for Sunday brunch. We both had salmon benedict and found both dishes sub par. We have had much better food at many other restaurants. The service suburb. The one thing that was outstanding was the ice cream parfait desert which was very creative. Had different flavors, fruit, etc. It was great.

Overall, the food was not good enough to warrant a return visit.

Loved the atmosphere, very post modern decor. It felt welcoming and the staff reflected that as well. We went for brunch and the food was excellent. I would go back for dinner.

The octopus appetizer was out of this world. Also the squid ink pasta was so so tasty. Our waiter was very friendly and we had such a great night!

I had a reservation for 6. Naturally 5 of us were on time, but 1 was 30 mins late. The hostess was very accommodating and sat us right away when the last person arrived. It is a fun scene for brunch. The food was terrific!

We had a fantastic meal. The hostess was accommodating with the addition of a diner to our party, the sommelier stopped at the table to introduce herself and the best of all was Freddie our waiter. He was warm and attentive and even helped our son work out a problem with a Boka group gift card. We had a wonderful evening.

Great for a brunch in a classy chic space. Food was good but was hoping for a bit more creativity on the flavors (I had the duck burrito). Will likely return.

New Year’s Eve - while the food was ok (no stand-outs), the ambiance was very disappointing. A few scattered helium balloons did nothing to strike the holiday celebration mood.

Splintering, cheap wood tables were spaced much too close together; my husband kept getting shoved by waiters trying to squeeze by. No tablecloths or festive centerpieces - not even a couple of flowers in a bud vase.

For the cost of the menu, Somerset, you can do better.

I’m not a picky person and the food was awful. I feel bad because the service is fantastic, but we left thinking we could have gotten better fare at most any other restaurant.

For individuals who don't consume dairy, the menu is less than optimal as nearly every dish is already prepared with some sort of dairy (e.g., milk, butter). The value for money is OK, not great. The best thing about this restaurant is the bar area and overall ambiance.

The food was truly delicious and creative. Get the smoked beet tartare - it’s incredible - even if you don’t like beets. Same with the kale and brussel sprout salad. The pastas were also wonderful as well as the chicken and the salmon. We had the chocolate cake and sorbet which were all fantastic. Our waiter Freddie was excellent and combined helpfulness and knowledge with charm and warmth.
We had some great drinks and wine (which they have by the glass and tasting size).
The decor is okay but the food and service definitely make this an outstanding experience.
~• One disappointing thing that we discovered only after I wrote this review. Although we ordered several of our favorite menu items for my wife, who stayed home to be with our sick daughter - we discovered that we had been given someone else’s leftovers and didn’t get the take out we had paid for. This was a bummer for all involved because we wanted to make my wife feel special after she missed the evening.
