Excellent meal. Excellent service.
Very underwhelming overall. Sat on the patio which was cramped for both guests and staff. Nothing stood out food or drink wise, very basic for a place with hype behind it. Service was minimal. No suggestions or personality.
This was a last minute reservation and it worked out to be so much better than our original plan. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was incredible.
We loved everything we got and there was very cool unique flavor pairings. The smoked beet (yes I wrote beet) tartare is a must!
Go to rooftop for after dinner drinks. All around a great experience.
Ambiance delightful & sophisticated
Unfriendly waitstaff. Slow service. Long wait time between course and drinks.
Absolute best chicken I’ve ever had! All five in our party loved everything! Excellent service!! The decor was unique and beautiful.
they made our anniversary so special! complimentary champagne and special menus. definitely a memorable experience!
Great neighborhood place, doesn’t matter if you go for drinks or dinner, always lovely
The food was excellent, server had no personality, never asked how the dinner was, droppod off dessert menus without saying a word. We asked about a dessert menu item and that was one of the few times she spoke. I know other people had good experiences there so I'm putting this on the server not the restaurant.
Booked mother’s day lunch for 2:45. The next day the restaurant called me wanting a credit card number to hold table. They told me I would be charged $ 25 per person if we did not show.
We were on time for our reservation and told that if we wanted to eat we had to place our orders immediately since kitchen closed at 3. It would have been nice to have been told this when they contacted me about needing a credit card number. We felt rushed the whole time.
The baked eggs, chicken & waffles, and eggs Benedict were good. Corn beef hash not some much. Pretty much all potatoes with 3 small pieces of beef.
Food and drinks for 5 cost $ 168. Overpriced for the experience which we had.
Our Mother’s Day Brunch was wonderful. Food is beautifully presented & delicious !!! Servers are very attentive and the atmosphere is vibrant.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice
Celebrated our girlfriend's birthday with a group of 8 ladies and had a great time! Food, service and ambiance were perfect. Thank you Somerset!
The ambiance and decor is the ideal brunch setting. Highly recommend ordering the pastry board for the table—menus changes daily, including adult pop tarts. Very reasonable price point and fun for two or a large group!
Awesome pre Mother’s Day brunch! I had veggie scramble and had smoked salmon added and my mom had the chicken and French toast. Both were exceptional. My mom also had cinnamon roll- warning- it’s huge!!! Very good. They are GF friendly!!
I always enjoy dinner a Somerset. This wad my first lunch visit. My crispy chicken sandwich with spicy aioli wad very good.
Not our best experience at Somerset. This was my fourth time there, so clearly I am a fan. However, our server who was charming, made some poor decisions. To begin, my soup and salad were brought out together. This was an entree salad and a cup of soup, not the soup and salad option. Then, the hard boiled egg on my salad was soft boiled, which is trendy, but creeps me out. We were celebrating my friend’s birthday and while I was eating my soup, they brought out a dessert for her. It was so odd. No question of coffee and dessert, just a dessert plunked in front of her while I was still eating my meal. I asked if the restaurant was closing, but no, they were open all day. Very strange.
Great food, especially the octopus app and beet carpaccio. Main was also very good, especially the Lamb, it was cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was great and hostess was welcoming.
It was my first time dining at Somerset for brunch and I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. The food was good, but not spectacular. We came with a party of 5 & asked to sit outside in my reservation, but was told upon arrival that only parties of 4 or less could be seated on the patio. We were seated in the back of the restaurant instead & it was super busy and the acoustics in the restaurant/bar seemed to amplify an already loud atmosphere. The oysters and cinnamon roll were pretty good. I probably won’t be returning, as there are better brunch restaurants in Chicago.
Somerset never disappoints, the food is always amazing and the ambiance is second to none!!
After a flight and before a meeting, this worked out to be delightful Brunch. Seated within moments of arrival and with a reservation, we were greeted by smiles and excellent service. The food was great and recommended by a respected Cleveland chef.
Great brunch, fabulous ambience & service. Our waiter was friendly & knowledgeable. The brunch didn’t disappoint- loved the Bloody Mary & Aperol spritz! Sit outside for awesome people watching!
Very cool ambiance. Great service from the floating bartenders to the fantastic wait staff. Food, delicious! Pastry chef Meg Galus thrills with her creative and fabulous deserts!! Thanks Somerset for an unforgettable anniversary!!
I was really disappointed with this place considering it came highly recommended. We went for brunch on a Sunday. I ordered the avocado toast and my mom ordered brisket skillet.
To start, 2 of 3 of us arrived and they wouldn’t seat us to get started until the 3rd arrived. Thanks for making my mother stand around for 15 min when we could have ordered aps and drinks.
My toast was probably the worst avocado toast I ever had....or rather didn’t have bc it was sent back. Why you ask? It was so burnt at the bottom and sides that it was inedible. Also, they couldn’t be more stingy with the avocado...literally just toast with mashed avocados...very minimalistic. My moms dish was better but overall won’t be returning.
Service was horrible and slow. We didn’t get the correct food either
Great brunch outside awesome service. Stayed basically the entire day. Was able to move tables to a spot back in the sun when ours lost sun. Awesome spot.
The ambiance is awesome. The food was a little overpriced in my opinion, I ordered the avocado toast and it could’ve been better. But a really fun spot nonetheless!
I had a reservation at 11:30am and I wasn't seated until 11:45. There were plenty of open tables. Also the service was slow.
A very beautiful, elegant restaurant setting. But management has gone from a great food/moderate price strategy to tiny portions/high prices. Massive cost-cutting abounds, when looking at their portion sizes. Apparently the accountants are now in charge at Somerset. Don't want to say rip-off, so I'll just think it in my head.
Somerset is always reliable for good food and service, and a relaxing environment.
The ambiance and interior was nice. The food quality and portion was good but service could have been better.
Went with friends during week. We split entrees, and had great wine!
I love the menu, servers are knowledgeable and upbeat, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Great joint!
Great food and service but the music totally lulled the chic atmosphere .
Great ambiance and service! Delicious food. Don’t miss the Fried Chicken and French Toast at Brunch.
Brunch was great. The venue Impressed my mother
Great restaurants for a celebration - out of the special and meals came with no sides (very similar to a steak house) but overall great experience - liked our table back by the view thru kitchen
Food was just kind of warm. We weren’t even finished with our drinks and we were given the check, then we were reminded that we needed to pay when we still weren’t even done. Our server was very charming, but it seemed like the people who were working with him just wanted to turn the table. Not the best experience, food was a little basic, might have been better if it was hot.
We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at Somerset. The menu was not particularly innovative, but the dishes were perfectly executed down to the last detail. Service was similar. Nothing stood out as particularly memorable in either a good or bad way — somewhat impersonal but flawless nevertheless. The room itself is stunning. Love the decor and all of the natural light. This restaurant is unlikely to blow your mind as much as some of the other Boka Restaurant Group establishments. But, I don’t think that’s the point. Somerset is perfect for what it is — a restaurant housed in a boutique hotel that offers an accessible, efficient, and pleasant upscale dining experience at prices that reflect the expensive real estate in which it is housed. As long as you go in with the right expectations, you won’t be disappointed!
Easter Brunch! Keema was fantastic. She had a wonderful personality and excellent timing. Definitely made our experience all the better having her there to guide our experience.
