When we got there we were greeted, seated and given a menu. The music was great. We were given a glass of water and waited 15 mins until a waitress came to our table. When we placed the order for drinks and food we waited another 15-20 min until we left. No drinks or food. When we looked over at the bar the employees were on their phone not making any drinks and waitress no where to be found. There wasn’t that many people waiting- probably was 3 groups in the dining area. People before us still didn’t get their food and they were there at an hour before us. Will not be going back there. Worst experience ever!!!
Best overall brunch. Banana bread pancakes were to die for!!!
Service slow but cool place
I have visited Solomon & Kuff in the past and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and atmosphere. The service was bad on my first visit, however, because I was with good company the length of time that it took for both drinks and food was not that bad. Conversation was flowing. This trip however, guaranteed that it would be my last visit. After sitting for 20 minutes, we finally had to stop a server just to ask if we could order. After taking our order, our food arrived almost 40 minutes later, minus the appetizer that we ordered that never arrived. In this 40 minutes, we did not see our server once.
We ordered the shrimp rundown which had 3 small shrimp and a bunch of tomatoes. Definitely not worth it. Once again, I do not see myself going back to S&K any time in the near future, if ever.
Favorite brunch spot, music is always poppin, I always end up drunk out of my mind , and food is super delicious!
Loved the atmosphere! Amazing venue, tons of room, we did get bumped from our table even though we didn't finish our drinks, but everything else was great!
I'd been looking forward to getting up to Harlem for quite a while to check out the purported extra large rum selection here. Drug a few rum-nerd friends with and we were all super disappointed. I have a much more extensive home bar collection of rum than was available here (said over 100 bottles online, might have been 30- and only a few were on the higher end). Not to mention the specialty cocktails were waaaayyy too sweet all across the board. On a good note, the food was quite good and the event planner turned hostess for the night was quite pleasant and helpful.
Went for brunch for my bday and Had a wonderful time! The staff was great, and the food was very tasty. Looking forward to returning. Music was on point, good DJ.
The whole experience was amazing for myself and friends from the door!! Will be returning soon for yet another event.
The music was TOO LOUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD................................................................................. AND THEY Didnt want to tune it down when we asked them to do so
Great food and atmosphere. But had to yell to speak to the people next to me and literally never heard the server. My boyfriend has to relay everything she said into my ear. I love to dance but I also need to be able to speak to people.
THE BEST food, drinks and service. Two of us ordered two Bites, two Appetizers and two Main dishes. Everything was sensational. And the cocktails were devine.
Please open a place on the West Coast❤
We arrived early and taken at our reservation on time however it was cold even after an hour into our meal. Besides that all good!
It a good place to go the vibe is great , only thing was the music from where we sat was way tooooooo loud we couldn’t even hear anything we asked to move it didn’t make a difference in the new seats we was to close to the speakers
Mommy and daughters brunch
The service was less than par. This took away from the good food and ambiance. Service is important. The host and wait staffed failed!
Loved it ! First time here and I had brought my friend for her birthday and it was just me and her. The atmosphere is so welcoming and so energetic! The DJ really brought it together and the staff was friendly as well.
Poor bar experience, was out of stock on 4 regular items. Noisy, and had to substitute items due to certain food out of stock. Overall poor
Mediocre over priced minimal service. Disgusting drinks headache hangover cheap alcohol masquerade with "rum punch " .
Food was delicious; the first time for my 3 dinner guests. Unfortunately, they were out of several dishes and some popular wine choices.
The appetizers were excellent the music was on point. Even when we disliked an order they replaced it with no problem. The drinks were complicated and tasty but no kick. I think I had About 4 of their strongest drinks with not even a buzz. I will Definitely be there more in the warmer days though because it’s a great place to hangout and the staff was super friendly. It’s a “love” for me!
I set up a birthday brunch for 7 people...I found parking but the lot was closed so my guests were driving around trying to find parking. Our reservation was still good despite the lateness of a few people. Vibe and music (and rum punch) kept us in good spirits. Brunch was delicious. Everyone was pleased. We will definitely return !
Wow what a fun brunch spot. The music could afford to be a tad lower so people can speak amongst their groups.
The food was great but our waitress was very rude and inattentive. I actually had to go to the bar to order my drink because she never checked in and forgot about my drink order. She seem annoyed when we asked about the menu and asked that we hurry up and order. I would go back but if she is the waitress on duty I refuse to be in her section and will complain to management. In the past I've had good experience and hope to never encounter that waitress again.
Went for brunch on a Sunday, I was not disappointed.
Visiting NY. I was pleased when I first walked in. There was a place for coat check, the music was familiar, and there was an overall nice ambiance. There were people at the bar having a good time and others having dinner, it was not busy. We made reservations but Half of the party was running 30 mins late, which I informed the hostess, and she said it was okay to inform her of when the rest of the party arrives so we could be seated. My friend and I helped ourselves in to the bar in the mean time. All was going well until the hostess approached us 15 mins later saying they only hold tables for x amount of time becuase tables are reserved for 2 hours. We were never informed of this. The hostess reluctantly sat 2 of us at the table and it so happened the rest of our party arrived. A waitress approached the table but said she would return once everyone is seated. Needless to say she never came back. Another waitress came back about 20 mins later and apologized for the wait as she thought someone took our order already. We placed our orders, the food come out, we were chatting and enjoying our time at this place until the staff started to rush us. They said we had to leave the table because there was another party waiting for the table. This was very displeasing as there were about 5 open tables around us where people could be seated and there was no one waiting besides the one party. I couldn't understand why we were being rushed as I was there from 7pm to 9:30pm and the majority of the tables were available that whole time. The only people who were seated in this time frame was a couple and a group of 4 (the same group that was supposedly waiting for our table).
If I had not had this exerpience I could have said this place was great. But until this moment I still can't comprehend the rational behind their actions. The place was not busy as to say people were waiting and there were more than one table open. Its sad how a good experience can go bad so quickly.
Very nice waitress. Food was delicious
Generally, I think the food is overpriced.
First things first, the menu on Open Table is inconsistent with the actual menus. For example, the jerk chicken dish is $26 and not $18 as the menu on Open Table says. I think this is an honest mistake, but still it’s not fair to see one thing and get something else.
On the positive side, the server was very friendly and quite good and responsive. The music was very good and yet it was easy to carry on a conversation. The manager was also helpful when I made a mistake and paid with the wrong card.
I do have to add that the coat check was not available when we arrived for our 7pm reservation. The woman who seated us didn’t offer any creative solution and seemed disinterested. Since we were wearing long, heavy nice winter coats, we had to put them on the seats of an empty table as opposed to hanging them off our chairs. Two hours later, with no one, at the table, the bus boy asked if the jackets were ours and handed it to us. Perhaps it’s a minor thing, but with the right customer service mindset, he’d ask if we wanted to hang it up instead of handing it to us to put on our laps while we finished my desert. I don’t think it was intentional, but made us scratch our heads.
Food was mediocre. Not hot and were small portions. Also, the fries that came with the burger were overly salty and with regards to service, the waiter made several mistakes with our order. The manager was very helpful and accommodating though. He allowed me to keep my table way after the reservation time until my family arrived.
Went here for a birthday dinner. The food and drinks were AMAZING!! The food is classic West Indian with a modern flair. The Johnny Fry Bread with the Pepper jam, eggplant caviar and curry hummus was delish. I thourouhly enjoyed my food and can’t wait to return.
Key menu items were not available. The best part of the dining experience was the DJ!
I ordered the fish and yuca chips both were extremely greasy. I ended up eating less than half of the meal.
I would have gave the service 5 stars but the hostess seen me standing there and didnt say anything to me until I said something to her. I know she was doing something..but She could have said I'll be with you in a few minutes. The coat check woman checked me in for reservations and my waitress came to my party and greeted us while we where waiting to be seated. By the way she was an excellent waitress. The food I has was great..no complaints.
Quite the amazement with the high end dishes that were really spectacular. Every bite was remembered because the food was just that great ! The music was perfect with the mood and the life of the place is just amazingly awesome!
Excellent food, well presented, good flavor combinations, service is pretty attentive. Will definitely be returning!
Had such a great time. FOOD WAS SO DELICIOUS. Oxtails was so soft and full of flavor. Shrimp appetizer was also a treat. Music and vibe was festive and fun.
Absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised!!
Birthday. Rum was very good. Food portions were extremely small for an average $30 per plate.
I enjoy having brunch and after hour drink. Dinner is delicious!!! Must go!
