solita Tacos & Margaritas - Huntington Beach
solita’s Mexico is fresh and delicious, simple and light. It’s made from scratch, often carrying a whiff of smoky flavor from the wood or charcoal grill, full of flavor from fresh salsas, corn tortillas, limes, dry and fresh chiles, crushed herbs, fruit and spices, mole sauces and cheeses….
solita brings the fun and authentic flavors of street food to the American table. We may offer some of the same things as other Mexican restaurants, but at solita, the food is just better – better tasting, skillfully cooked, fresher and healthier, with many unique and authentic touches, such as the duros in the chip basket, a salsa made mostly of tomatillos, or a red chile salsa made with Mexican red chiles and a touch of beer.

Wish there were salsa versions that did not contain cilantro for those that do not enjoy that flavor.
The rest of the experience was quite pleasant, brought an out of town business visitor for an site meeting.
You have to try it to believe how amazing it is! Sunday brunch items are awesome
We waited 20 beyond our reservation time to be seated. Then was seated in corner that the table was slanted and so close to other tables you could not move. However, once we requested to move and pointed out delay in being seated, they were apologetic. Hostess needs work, wait staff is great.
I love Solitas! It’s one of my favorite place to eat. The food is great and the service is always awesome! However I was just a little upset they didn’t have the bean dip anymore! That was hands done my favorite. But our server was really awesome at offering other options to choose!!! But Solitas please consider bringing that bean dip back!!! I recommend this place to so many people so they could try that!!
Anyway thank you for always providing a great time!
Solita is a fun, delicious place to go for upscale Mexican food. They have a nice patio for people watching and fresh air. I definitely recommend this place!
I loved the "appetizers", we had so fun sharing plates and tasting everything. The food was delicious and the server was so friendly and personable. We will go back!
Four of us were taken to Solita by my son, who lives nearby (we live in Thailand, and were anxious to have some good Mexican cuisine). Of course many Mexican restaurants dot Orange County and we have tried many of them down through the years of annual visits, but Solita is the best one so far. Great to have a basket of nachos served shortly after we sat down, our waiter was very helpful in guiding us through the menu, and we all were delighted with the dishes as they arrived and were shared so all could enjoy the diversity of offerings. We were impressed with the wide variety of tequilas on offer, though we would have welcomed a bit of advice on how they differed; perhaps a detailed menu of the tequilas? (Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Bangkok provided a series of boxes with characteristics of tequila, allowing the customer to provide a list of characteristics that was then linked to one of the 60 tequila brands available there.). We were happy to start our meal with the house margaritas, and the bottle of red wine went well with the various dishes. In short, a wonderful dinner and we look forward to our next visit.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately, despite a waiting crowd. Our waiter was great. He provided terrific recommendations. Our water glasses were quickly refilled. Our food and drinks were delicious. I am vegetarian and found several options I could enjoy!
Took my mom there for dinner on Saturday for Mother’s Day we all enjoyed it very much!! Staff was so nice and food was Awesome.
Nice cozy little spot. Great quality food. Great service
Great food, ok service, very loud
Quick service, really tasty food, and a fun atmosphere. Feel like the food is a little over priced for the amount you get, but it’s still really good.
Good but host wasn’t the greatest
Very poor service- a disappointing experience
It was our friends anniversary, which I noted at the time I made our reservation. Their anniversary wasn’t acknowledged at all during our dinner. Food and drinks were really good but service was lacking. We ordered a beer, our waitress assumed we wanted the amber so we asked to exchange it for the lager which seemed to irritate her. Later she dropped off our bill and disappeared. We had to track down another waitress to order a pitcher of margaritas who only brought us 3 glasses when there were 4 of us at the table. We would only go back for the food and drinks.
Messed up our order, sides are not worth $2 (such a tiny portion) and the food was bland. Our server would forget to bring things we asked for: water, more chips, ice etc. Not a place I would really go to unless for like the happy hour drinks. I thought it'd a nice place to go for our anniversary but no.
Had my birthday dinner here. Since we had guests of varying diets, we needed a place that could accommodate. Not only was it great for everyone, but also delicious and fun.
great place, service was excellent, very accomodating
Tacos were delicious, outdoor patio wonderful (of course it's Huntington Beach) Location is convenient with plenty of parking in a beautiful shopping center.
Solita is fantastic. Our server, Bianca, was personable, professional and refreshingly authentic. The chips are warm and crispy and the salsa is fresh, flavorful and not too spicy. The guacamole is different and GOOD! The Esquite salad with carne asada is fabulous - the flavors are perfect and the size does not disappoint! Overall the service and food are a home run! This restaurant is very loud inside - the music is a very fast-paced Mexican style (maybe they could try a little Gypsy King type of music with a slower beat - would be more enjoyable to eat to).
waitress was amazing love the atmosphere.... margies were excellent
The corn and the lazy enchiladas with carnitas were outstanding!
Drinks are good, main food is good. They need to work on there sides, they are not so good.
The tacos were great and margaritas were amazing! The Spicy Pina and Blood Orange margs are my fave! Service was awesome as well! One of my favorite spots!
Margaritas trigger me to eat chips, salsa, and guacamole...and now the elote corn. Definitely try it, you won't regret it. They have the best chips & salsa I've ever tried. Their chips come straight from the fryer, are then, and when dipped in salsa, yum! I love their salsa and have a new favorite mexican restaurant. Try their happy hour because you'll get great food for your money.
We have tried to give Solita a couple of chances, and we have really wanted to like it since it opened. Despite decent food, horrible experiences. 1) The first time we went there, my wife had a full fly ( a large house fly!) in her food, weaved between the tortilla and lettuce/veggies. The management and kitchen staff tried to figure out what happened, but couldn't. To the management's credit, they gave us restaurant credit to come back. 2) My wife and I made a reservation for 7:45 p.m. on Friday, March 22...it was a stressful work week for my wife and she was looking forward to having some good Mexican food and some drinks. We were a little late to the reservation due to some unforeseen circumstances...when we got there, it took a few minutes for the 2 hostesses up front to even notice us. When they finally asked us what we needed, they told us that we would have to wait at least 45 minutes , despite the reservation. My wife was furious so we left! Even if we were a little late, they could have done something to accommodate us, or even call us. But they did nothing so we went to go eat somewhere else. Horrible service and experiences! Would not recommend when there are plenty of modern Mexican places opening around the area as of late!
Love the food and ambiance!!! Definitely going back soon😊
Fun a f lovely place. A bit noisy inside but the heated patio us perfect. Great happy hour menu and good cocktails.
Can be a bit spicy so be sure to let the waiter know your spiciness’ level
Some of the food was OK, but the chicken was dry with no sauce and the rice was so dry it wasn't worth eating. The waiter came back to ask if we wanted more coffee 10-15 minutes after we were finished eating when we were waiting patiently for our check. In his defense, he was waiting on tables inside and outside and it was fairly busy. We went there because it's Restaurant Week here and they were one of the restaurants on the list, but they didn't even have a Restaurant Week menu. The chips were excellent except they were a little salty. My husband said the coffee was excellent as well. Overall, a disappointing experience, but we might try it once more in case it was an off-night.
We sat on the patio and it was warm and comfortable. The food was great and so was our server Haley. The watermelon margaritas are the bomb!
My only suggestion would to fix the tables so no ones sitting on the crack in the cushions.
I always enjoy my meals here--the service is always friendly and helpful. The food is so good. Ordering the corn is a must.
Only disappointment - I obviously had a reservation ... "Open Table" .... Celebrating my sister's birthday. We were seated on the side where its sits near the shopping area walkway. There were many other open tables. We were sat directly next to a large, LOUD, heavy bar drinking private party group. Not that I'm not supportive of fun, but we had to shout to talk with one another to be heard above this large, LOUD, drinking group. I asked to be possibly moved to one of the MANY open tables further away and was told that we couldn't be moved ... because others had "reservations" ... we accepted this thinking they'd be moving all of those tables together for a large group - but as we sat there for a few hours, the tables were never filled with any larger group then our own. We could have easily been moved. We had a reservation as well AND we obviously had an earlier reservation then the others. I was very disappointed in that. Other than that, food was good and the waitress gave us a dessert for free to accommodate the noise ... I would have rather not have had to shout at group over the table. We would have ordered dessert any way. Love the food and we'll be back again, just didn't like that they didn't make any accommodation to the very large LOUD group occupying the space RIGHT next to our table.
Food and service were top notch. Very attentive server.
Solita did not have my reservation. I had to show my proof of confirmation. So annoyed!
Our table was ready at our reservation time. We thought we would have to wait a long time for food because there was a lot of people, but we didn’t have to wait long at all. And the food was good and at a good price. We’d been wanting to come here for 2 years and we were not disappointed. Definitely coming back.
Brandon was our server, and made sure our drink and food orders were taken promptly, and never allowed our drinks to become empty. Street tacos were great, but so are the other menu choices. Definitely will return.
Great drinks, decent food. We mainly go here for the atmosphere, taco Tuesday with live music, and the drinks. Can't say there's a dish I could recommend other than the corn or appetisers. PS They might only make batches of chips every 3 days, but when the chips are fresh, they are really good.
I’ve been here plenty of times and never had a problem. This time the service was terrible. Waitress was also the bartender. Place wasn’t even crowded. Food wasn’t as good as it usually is too. Hopefully it was just an off day for them.
Spare ribs are not very good - cooked hours before - take off the menu
