solita Tacos & Margaritas - Huntington Beach
solita’s Mexico is fresh and delicious, simple and light. It’s made from scratch, often carrying a whiff of smoky flavor from the wood or charcoal grill, full of flavor from fresh salsas, corn tortillas, limes, dry and fresh chiles, crushed herbs, fruit and spices, mole sauces and cheeses….
solita brings the fun and authentic flavors of street food to the American table. We may offer some of the same things as other Mexican restaurants, but at solita, the food is just better – better tasting, skillfully cooked, fresher and healthier, with many unique and authentic touches, such as the duros in the chip basket, a salsa made mostly of tomatillos, or a red chile salsa made with Mexican red chiles and a touch of beer.
We had a great time.
Always excellent service from the moment we walk in. Hostess. Servers are all friendly. The food is fresh, the roast corn is excellent. The drinks are good and the ambiance is perfect!
Best thing on the menu is the elote and the chips y salsa. The beans tasted canned, the rice over cooked and crunchy, the enchilada sauce tasted canned as well.
We had a great time. We’re seated promptly and the servers & waiters were very accommodating and polite. Food was delicious and the margaritas were fantastic. We will definitely come back again soon.
Saturday, September 7th, service was really bad. I’ve been to Solita a number of times before, for either happy hour or dinner, and have never had a problem. Our waiter Saturday was frequently talking to people at the bar, and totally ignoring our table and tables around us. The people sitting next to us ordered guacamole and waited nearly 10 minute just for the waiter to bring our chips!! It took us over 25 minutes just to order food, and we were ready to get up and leave.
Food and service always great. Lots of choices.
Fast seating and well greeted!
Serving of food for the price is adequate and reasonable.
Very fast and satisfying service.
We had a great time celebrating my my husbands birthday. They were able to accommodate our large party & the service was great.
Solita is our family’s favorite place to eat! Open Table allowed us to reserve our table and we were seated immediately. Also, all our plates met our expectations as always.
We've been here several times and consistently had great service! Good drinks and tacos. The elote corn & lacy enchiladas are another favorite. Fun, lively atmosphere.
Live music is sooooo bad, I’m not sure who told them they actually sing, that girl was just Yelling 🙄
Service was something else, the system was down a the server wrote down my card number without asking me first and then came and told me she would do it in a few minutes i told her we could wait and then the manager came and told us the same thing, so I told her the same, I’m not sure if they understand how unprofessional was that, I worked as a server for a 5 star restaurant in south coast plaza and I would never do what they did without my customers permission first.
Food is always amazing there so I will definitely come back just for the food and on a day when there are no singers there...
First time. Very good all around; food service, etc. Had lunch. Looks like a great place for dinner. Bar/patio opens up so should be fun.
Ambiance was nice- looks to be a higher end, trendy establishment. Food tasted okay but hot items were served lukewarm or cold and they were way overpriced for the amount, quality and service one gets. I wouldn't recommend being seated outside, as coverage by staff was sparse. Having gone to the "Sol" restaurants in both Scottsdale, AZ and Newport Beach, CA, I had high expectations as those experiences had been amazing. Sadly, Solita was a pure let-down and I definitely would not recommend spending money here.
Service was excellent! Music was very good but a little loud.
Food came out quickly, but my assortment of tacos lacked flavor and the carnitas were tough, not tender at all. Also four tacos came with a very small portion of pico de gallo and coleslaw.
Also the salsa that came with the complimentary tortilla chips was in a very small dish, not made for dipping.
Too loud and crowded with slow service not likely go back
First time and we enjoyed it. Loved the food, Renee C. our server was awesome!
Cadillac Taco and Blood Orange Margarita! Everything was great besides my service from the hostess..
Excellent food, a bit pricey, but really great quality.
Terrible Service. Got seated 30 min after reservation time and it took almost 15 min before a server came and another hour to get our food. Worse service. Never coming back.
Well done Mexican food. Tacos are tasty. Other item were enjoyable. Great place for sharing plates over cocktails.
Fun! Yummy tacos and great service!
First time there it was an amazing spot but definitely make reservations for tuesday if you decide to go it's super packed. Hostess was very nice tables were clean drinks on point
From the hostess to the quality of food, the experience was filled with disappointment. Overcrowded, excessively loud, very hot and humid, quality of food, and unmemorable service, this is a restaurant that will never be revisited by me or my party of three.
We had dinner on the patio on a Monday night. Our server was very attentive and helpful with questions about the menu. Our food was served hot and was very tasty overall . The noise level was appropriate. The drink made with mezcal was fantastic and my carne asada street tacos were cooked to perfection.
The quesadilla portion size was generous as was the kids burrito.
We will return...
Food was fantastic - queso fundido and street corn are a must! Our server was very distracted and very strange - definitely not great service but the food made up for it. Worth trying on the chance it was an off night for service
It was a bit loud on the patio and a little hard to talk but the drinks and food made up for it. Drinks took a little long (so maybe a bar back is needed) but very happy with the flavors on our taco assortments. Drinks were tasty too! We will come back. Live music was a nice added touch.
Everyone had a different plate. food was good.... watermelon margarita was yummy. My carne asada plate delicious...
Too noisy. Too many tables for my waiter.....had to flag him down...eventually went to the bar to get a refill of salsa.... no busboys around to help... will not recommend this restaurant for Friday nights.
Taco Tuesday was such a good deal! Fun place with great live music!
Beautiful Atmosphere...amazing chips and salsa...food not as good as it used to be. Kind of disappointed in the smaller portions and higher prices but maybe we will try again to make sure it wasn't an off night. We have been fans for years.
The service and the food were great. The 4 street tacos "mix and match" were really good. While they're $16+ for 4, which is a bit pricier than your typical street tacos, the quality and the portions were better. If there is one thing that you have to try, then try the Grilled Corn Elote appetizer - you won't be sorry.
Great food! Get the corn!
I ordered the carnitas tacos and were full of flavor, generous serving a served with style. The chips and salsa were perfect. I also enjoyed a watermelon Maryland it was delicious. The service was very attentive and we never felt rushed. We sat on the patio and every was perfect.
Perfect for any occasion. Every dish was authentic in flavor and beyond delicious. Drinks were also a hit. A MUST try.
The food and drinks are usually excellent.
The service provided by bartenders have always been excellent, especially Humberto and Ashlea.
Food and drinks were amazing and our server was outstanding. Great experience overall.
I found the food, ambiance and server great. ..However without that , the hostess and manager on duty are extremely unprofessional and lack customer service skills. They give you the impression that they are the only restaurant in the world with food!!
We had reservations for 4 at 5pm but were sat on high tops where two tables had to be put together. I asked if we could sit towards the back at a regular table and was told those were for “reservations” (I was confused). We were served a basket of chips and salsa upon sitting and my son found a hair in the chips! So gross. It was Father’s Day and I did not want to make a scene in front of my husband and kids so we just asked for another basket (I suspected could’ve been the same basket but just added more chips on top) but again did not want to make a scene. Shortly after, we were presented with a plate of “First-time Corn” as an appetizer (told the server earlier that I have been there before). Nice gesture but today’s experience was extremely disappointing, considering I raved about this place to my family after having lunch there with a friend a few weeks ago. Sadly, we will not return.
Service was terrible and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy! Took forever to get drinks. Before our food even came out, our waiter was asking if we were ready for dessert! To top it off, the check came and it was $66, but when our waiter closed it out he charged us $88!
It’s a favorite. Always a good go to dinner spot!!
