Had a wonderful time. Food and service was excellent.
Great vibe, wonderful tapas and service was very friendly.
Solea continues to be one of our favorite restaurants. Hope, the manager, and Carlos (who fills in for Hope when he lets her have a day off) has created a restaurant worth the drive. The only thing we miss of an otherwise excellent menu, is the Saffron Scallops. The cheese plate is excellent as are the tapas. Try the paella - - seafood is terrific.
Great food and service! Opportunity for conversation since we shared and discussed the dishes.
Very good food. Good service. Great place to go for conversation as it’s not loud like many restaurants.
The food was good, but the service was very slow.
I've been to Solea before and really liked it. Unfortunately, on this Monday, they seemed to have their B-team in the kitchen and serving us. Cluttered table not cleared promptly. Supposedly melted cheese brought out still cold. Rubbery calamari. The menu was tasty as it usually is, but the execution was sorely lacking.
We went for dinner on Easter Sunday. The restaurant was pretty empty and quite. Our server was super nice to us. The soup of the day was cream of mushroom and we loved it. We ordered tapas mostly. The only thing we didn't like was the flatbread tapas. Rest everything was pretty good.
Tried to make it for Restaurant Week but missed it by a day.. Still glad it was on the list. Has a few different dining room and 2 bars so the place it pretty big but still felt cozy. Quality and tasty dishes.
Love the place great service
A group of us celebrated Easter here. It was perfect! Everyone could have exactly what they wanted, and try new things too. We had a big group so this worked out well for us, but I think it was a fine choice for Easter even if we could have scored any reservation anywhere. Not a typical choice, but very relaxing and fun. The kids enjoyed it too.
I really like this location because it has an old world feel but it's sunny too. The food is really good. I've been many times with lots of different people we always have a great meal. Some favorite dishes are the lamb chops, the lamb meat balls, the spinach, the sizzling shrimp, The artichokes, roast duck with berry sauce, basque fries w/ valdeon fondue. And many others. They also had a great special salad that we shared.
Lauren and had an outstanding experience on Saturday evening! It had been awhile since I was at Solea; and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was romantic, our server was amazing, and the food spectacular! If you want to transport yourself to another world and feel the Love; think no more; go to Solea!
Great service. Fantastic food.
Great place with varied menu, great wait staff, delicious food, friendly atmosphere. Greeted with enthusiasm, guided by our waitress regarding selections, lovely atmosphere.
Excellent friendly and professional service. Every tapas plate we ordered was delicious!
I’m traveling from VA and was looking for veg-friendly eats while staying in Waltham. The sangria royal is amazing!
Six of us met for dinner to celebrate a birthday. While they didn't have a cake, they came and sang a song with the desserts and a candle. The tapas and paellas were quite good, though none of us cared for the desserts that we shared, the fruit flan and little chocolate cake.
I do recommend the restaurant though loud.
Everything was fantastic and staff was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely going back.
Participated in restaurant week and shared among two of us was the insulata, sizzling shrimp, beef tenderloin, lobster ravioli, artichokes and thier yummy bread with hummus dip.
Food was good and service as well. We ended our meal with flan and that was just the right several bite size finishing touch to the meal.
My only compliant was sitting at the 1st table for two by the bar and against the wall of tables is that each time the door opened a cold gust of wind came my way. Not pleasant.
We visited during restaurant week. We each ordered 3 tapas. Sauteed artichokes were fantastic as was the ceviche. Drinks were very pricey for Waltham.
Table was ready, diverse and delicious menu with something for everyone in the group. An excellent waitress who knew the emu well.
Terrific food & drinks & our waitress was really helpful!
The food was poor overall including the paella Valenciana. Unfortunately we would not recommend nor would we return.
We went to Solea to celebrate my birthday, we had not been in a while and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious, I don't eat meat and my husband does, there was a good mix of meat and non-meat dishes. The service was great, the people were friendly. There was a nice ambiance, some music, lowered lights but not dark, and not too loud, so that we could talk and hear each other. I also love the colorful decor. I want to go back again, and will refer Solea to friends.
Only issue was dessert was delayed for half of our table.
Churros tasted a bit fatty and didn’t seem to have any cinnamon.
We shared some tapas: The Lomo de Buey a las Frutas and the Cevice were our favorites as were the Churros with chocolate sauce for desert. The Tostadas de Alcachofas were a bit bland. While the pitcher of white sangria was good, too much of it was ice.
Missing the sister restaurant Tapeo that recently closed we tried Solea and were pleasantly surprised that the food was just as good.
I’m Spanish and I stoped going to Spanish restaurants outside Spain a while ago. Solea was just the same not very good/real Spanish tapas and way overpriced
We were there to thank a friend for helping me out when I really needed some help and we had a very nice dinner together (the 3 of us)
Mario took care of us quite well. He was attentive but not disruptive, a talent of a good server.
Dish choices were plentiful and all good.
Solea is one of the best restaurants in downtown Waltham, Mass.! My wife and I go for special occasions, including anniversaries, birthdays, and Valentine's Day. Our friends and family know where to get us gift certificates, and we always enjoy the ambiance, tasty dishes, and service.
Went here for my boyfriends birthday and could not be happier! The food was absolutely incredible. The waitress was kind and funny while also giving us appropriate space, and the service was fast.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We go here for dates and I had a large birthday dinner here. Food is amazing. Eacpecially the sauces. We love the SANGRIA royal!
Food is average to below average. Gambas, the quintessential tapas dish, was flavorless, and the shrimp did not taste fresh. Overall it was an underwhelming meal, and the service was cordial, but not warm and friendly.
Nice atmosphere; waiter very good (helpful, but not pushy). All the food was good ( we ordered several tapas - 5 for four people) and the chicken and sausage paellla), but nothing was exceptional. Nothing stood out and made me think, I want to come back and get this again soon. Portion size on the tapas seemed a bit small for the price (I get it that they are just tapas), but the paella portion was generous.
Food and service was very good. The short rib and the special steak with a creamy apricot sauce were phenomenal! The mussels, cauliflower & broccoli croquets were also very good. Not so good were the calamari...kind of fishy and garlicky and not in a good way. Those were pretty much left untouched. But overall, it was a fun environment with cool decor...sort of Spanish medieval. The tapas style is more family oriented so people enjoy it more..I think. It can get expensive since most of the dishes are small with less expensive price tags. HOwever, we ordered two of most things so it did add up. For 5 people and only 4 drinking, cost $300 with tip. We ordered churros for dessert and they were ordinary. They tasted just like the ones at Costco for $1.00 each. Overall, I would recommend this place and I would go again.
Solea’s is always an excellent restaurant. Great service. food and sangria always impeccable on any occasion. My favorite restaurant in Waltham for many years.
Amazing time with my bf
Fantastic meal, service, ambiance. Make sure to try the red sangria (honest!) and as many tapas as possible! A terrific addition to our list of favorites.
Delicious fresh food. Try the lamb meatballs. Best I've ever tasted.
