What a great find in the neighborhood. Service was ok, just too many wait staff and overlap.
A civilized break from the hustle & bustle. Sole offers good, real food at fair prices in uncomplicated space without noisy music to kill conversation. I wouldn’t change anything.
The food is good, but they give your table away, when you are running 5 minutes late (without apologizing... not nice. Better avoid this place over the weekend...
New name, new owner, new paint, new chef but still an outstanding place!!
We arrived at 8:15 and were finished by 9:15
The waiter served our food to fast wouldn’t go back
New Italian restaurant was excellent. The fish special (Bronzino) was delicious and the service was very attentive.
We were a group of five women and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food and service are good. A bit noisy on Saturday evening but far better than restaurants in this location before
Food was good as was the service. Felt comfortable, like it could become a neighborhood favorite.
A pleasant pre-theatre dinner with friends. Food was tasty, service was professional and the noise level for a Saturday evening was certainly tolerable. I would recommend to others.
A most pleasant surprise. We often went to Luce before a movie at the Muliplex next door and it was fine. I was aware it had recently closed and the restaurant reopened with a new chef and format so we thought we would try it. Very well done! The food is better than Luce, service was gracious, the same quiet and tranquil atmosphere. The weekend brunch menu is less interesting than the regular menu (at about the same price point - $20), so we went with pasta and fish rather then eggy items. My thirty-something son and I both enjoyed our meals and Sole will most definitely be our go-to when in the neighborhood.
Appreciated being well taken care of for a special birthday.
restaurant is close to Lincoln Center activities.
The food was tasty, particularly the pasta, but the fish was a little dry.
Servicer was excellent.
Delightful price-fix menu and wonderful service, delicious food, completely enjoyable.
First visit to Sole, and I will definitely go again. I had a lovely Sancerre to start, and my chicken with mushrooms and sausage was yummy and plentiful. My friend had the chicken Milanese which was given a rave review. Service was friendly and efficient. Tables were spacious and not on top of the next one. Moderate crowd for a Wednesday evening.
Excellent service. Nice staff. Good choice for the Lincoln Center area.
Disappointing. Much too loud; and the lamb chops were way too fatty and underdone to boot.
Food and service quite ordinary and not a good value for the money. Menu is limited.
Tasteful ambience, enough tables separately placed rather than in a row. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food is a competently prepared Italian restaurant type fare. We will come back regularly.
Sole has been around for a couple of months, replacing a similar restaurant, Luce, in the same space. It is a great option if you're on the UWS and want to dine in the vicinity of Lincoln Center.
The staff was attentive and courteous and the food was very good. There is a nice bar and the tables have space around them. In nice weather, there is a small outside option. The food has an Italian/continental spin. My husband and I shared a Mediterranean salad and an eggplant appetizer, then I had the bronzini and he had pasta with crabmeat. We had dessert because we had time before our show. I wouldn't recommend the Italian cheesecake (dry) but the gelato was very good.
We frequented Luce often and will, no doubt, frequent Sole as well.
The new chef is great! Lots of new, interesting dishes to choose from. However, my favorite thing about Sole is the staff. They are attentive without being intrusive and always willing to do whatever it takes to make the experience great.
