Good food, good service. Nice spot downtown. We sat at outside dining (our choice) so street traffic was noisy but that's to be expected.
Weekend in Boston!!
I have been here 3 times and each time hoping it will get better but just disappointed once again. We showed up with a reservation in place and when we arrived, the host said they had no available tables. After some discussion with the manager they put us upstairs which was empty except for one table. Didn’t have that vibrant pub feel which we wanted. My seltzer was flat, and our food was just ok. Our waitress was very attentive and funny which helped a bummer night. We hoped for a fun night since it was a special occasion. It wouldn’t take much to make this a great place so hopefully they read this review
Nice service and the food was tasty, with a varied selection of beers to chose from. The menu isn’t overwhelming which allows them to focus on preparing the food nicely. I’d like them to bring back the Ray Bourque burger.
The marble rye that the Reuben was served on was of good quality but the contents of the sandwich were just average. The French fries were well cooked. The quinoa salad was flavorful however a little on the smaller side. The service was attentive.
Good variety of food satisfied all the particular eaters in our group. Portions initially looked small but were filling.
We had clam chowder undoubtedly an Irish variation , creamy with carrots and potatoes. Chicken tenders had a crunchy outer crust cooked to perfection. The shepards pie was flavorful came out too hot to eat but no problem gave us time to work on a Guinness! Service was superb, very courteous, quick and clean. I would strongly recommend to give them a try.
Solas is our go to place in Boston. From New Years Eve to dinner after our grandsons first Red Sox game.
Excellent food and service. The lobster roll was superb! Quite noisy but it is a pub during a Sox game.
Our server Jennifer was the best! She was so professional, yet warm, funny, and made the experience feel as if she had invited us over for dinner. Great place, Solas!
Wonderful service, very cute place to have an intimate dinner right in the heart of the city. The outside patio is lovely.
Always a delicious meal when we go. Would highly recommend
Solas is a place where you feel transported to Dublin, Ireland, in majestic ways. The warm ambiance and delicious hearty food is extremely inviting. The location can’t be beat and the experience is memorable.
Great outdoor eating space
It’s a small restaurant and bar with a cozy vibe. Great service and very attentive servers. The food was pretty ordinary. The spicy chicken sandwich burger as well as the Falafel naan wrap was super bland and the fish and chips felt over fried. The drinks were pretty good. Everyone loved the fried cauliflower in the sweet and spicy sauce. The drinks were pretty good, we loved the ComeBack.
Great spot to stop and get a late lunch. The Chicken avocado BLT was to die for, and the $6 homemade chips were a great starter.
Great vibe with wonderful food. Highly recommend!
My wife and I had a very enjoyable evening with great food and excellent service. Only hiccup was initially being shown to what we considered to be a below par located table for four but once we requested a move this was dealt with promptly.
Great food and great service.
Great food and service. The fish and chips were the closest to what you find in the UK I have found. Would definitely go back!
good quality meals
Out door dining available
Went to Solas for our first meal out in over a year and it did not disappoint. Sat at the bar and Alyssa was fantastic. The food was outstanding and the Guinness was perfect, as always. The chicken avocado sandwich was amazing. Everyone is friendly and welcoming here. A++++ can’t wait to go back.
I felt like this place was way over rated. Would not go back.
Great chowder! Dined as a family of four and everyone loved their food: Brussels sprouts appetizer, chowder, chicken fingers, salmon dinner, and entree salad. Very convenient to our hotel (Westin Copley). Eight thumbs up!
The Brussels sprouts and pretzel are a must try!
Food was delicious. A little crowded and noisy but we enjoyed ourselves.
Large, hearty portions. Attentive waitstaff
Great staff. Our waitress was very good. Food was excellent. Definitely try the clam chowder and the Lenox Club Sandwich. Nicely poured Guinness.
Booked for lunch after a few hours at the MFA. Nice pub atmosphere, great friendly service, food was good.
Solas has been a blessing for the neighborhood during this pandemic. Always there following the rules providing a comfortable place to get a good bite of food and a cold drink. The staff have stayed strong and always greet you with a smile
Love this place - amazing onion soup!
A very cute place, food was great, two people got the pot pie and loved it. All and all a great little place
Clam chowder was best I've ever had. Waitstaff was great, we will be back another time.
For a small space, Solas does a good job with social distancing. They created small bar dining spaces protected by plastic for two people to sit together. They are serving their full menu. Excellent service and clearly others know about it because it was busy and loud, more so than I would have expected during a pandemic.
The chopped salad is amazing!! We went for my mother's birthday. We will be back!
Fun atmosphere and always warm and inviting staff.
Our waitress was wonderful, the service was great, their covid protocols were perfect, sadly Burgers and grilled chicken had more of a burned taste than any other flavor. It is a cozy pub, We will go back for the ambience and hope the foods a bit better next time!
Loved it here, food was good and atmosphere was cozy.
It was my first time there, and I will be going back! Great service and great food.
We visited Solas right in the midst of the pandemic and I have to say they got it right. We felt very "safe" the entire time, service was outstanding, food was delicious, and tables were far apart and sheltered by plexiglass. Sean the GM was gracious.
Hi Emily, Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed your experience dining with us, and that you felt safe in our space. Again, thank you. I have shared your review with Sean as well. We hope to see you again next time you're in the area! Best, Grace
