Sola Pasta Bar
Simplicity and balance of taste defines the restaurant's concept: matching a few perfectly chosen ingredients with the techniques and precision necessary to turn a great dish into a true sensory experience. What makes the difference between good food and great food? We have no doubt that the answer to this question is the passion of the person preparing the food.

Very good. The only problem was the lack of good vegetarian friendly options.
Sola Pasta is a true gem with its phenomenal food and staff. Definitely my go to spot for any occasion; visitors in town, date night, girls' night out, anything. Alex is an AMAZING chef and always makes us feel welcome and special.
Average pasta with slow service which is atypical for NYC, added tip without asking. Will never recommend this place to anybody.
The pasta is amazing, but the atmosphere doesn't feel good, I really like the pasta and the wine, but the ambiance of the place has some kind of delusion.
Great service , phenomenal food!!!!
Portions were small but big on flavor, better than expected experience. Menu options weren’t ample, but we chose well.
The pasta bar was very cool and our food was delicious. Unfortunately, the waitsaff was not as great, spending more time walking around at talking then providing service. We had long waits between being seated and our drink/food orders being taken. We also had to wait about 20 minutes to even be able to ask for a check, even after our waiter walkied by us mutiple times and us making eye contact and trying to wave her down. The food is good enough to go back for, so hopefully next time we get a server who doesn’t give us the cold shoulder.
Cacio e Pepe and cannoli is to die for
Incredible pasta, amazing wine, friendly staff, good music and very cool location. Highly recommend. 10/10.
Nice spot with a killer fresh pasta (must try). Desserts and cocktails are great too. Portions were just right, service was great and cool vibes. I will definitely go back next time I'm in SoHo.
Just fantastic! The service and food are top notch and they have cute Italian servers and chefs. The food is very authentic and I will be back here for sure.
Wow what a great experience! We had a lot of food, and absolutely everything was delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Two thumbs up.
This was our first time at Sola Pasta Bar and we loved it! Highly recommended restaurant in NYC. It is a pasta bar, almost like a hibachi restaurant where your food is cooked right in front of you in a bar-like hip top setting. It is a very trendy and hip Italian spot in New York City. Great crowd, young and vibrant. The food was outstanding. Some of the best pasta that I have had in the city. He got the lasagne and I got the Cacio e Pepe. The chefs were very friendly as well. They even let us sample some of the other pasta dishes and sauces free of charge. (All amazing as well.) We also enjoyed the appetizer - mozzarella and fresh prosciutto... YUM! We will definitely be back!
Great service and great food, certainly pricey but it is located in nice part of downtown and all pasta hand made right on front of you! Small menu but all of the dishes were amazing. Black ink spaghetti with clams was the favorite for me.
My second visit to Sola Pasta, 1 st pasta was excellent!! This visit pasta was over cooked & underseasoned . Also had prosciutto & buffalo mozzarella which was very good. Our wine was too warm ( Barbara D’Alba) storage probably a issue. Freshly filled Sicilian Canoli was excellent!
Service & Chefs very friendly!
I would give it another chance!
Lasagna was amazing!!
Loved the place, yummiest pasta in NYC so far, the guys really know what they are doing. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Was a great experience, will surely visit again and recommend it. Had the caccio e peppe and ordered the ai fungi pasta twice!! It wad thattt good!
One of the best pasta-based restaurants in all of Manhattan
Amazing!!!! Everything from the service, drinks and food! Love this restaurant. I will be back.
The lasagna was amazing!! This place was very authentic and the service was amazing! I will be back!
Great concept, great food/ambience, authentic italian food.
Real Italian pasta. Delicious Italian wine. We’ll be back for sure.
For a group of 15, I was very impressed with the service and attention we got. We had a blast and the food was amazing! Thank you Luigi especially!
Absolutely fantastic! Great, efficient service without being overbearing. Pasta dishes were incredible. We had the prosciutto and buratta appetizer, so yummy! Our sever went over the specials including the prices (I noted some other reviews on here saying they were not told the cost).
My sister and I went out to dinner and absolutely LOVED this place. The food was amazing and the perfect portion. The atmosphere was so relaxed and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place.
Service great as usual but pasta seems to have slipped. Not as good as my first two visits
Had a reservation for 7:45, arrived at 7:47. We were told it would be 10 or 15 minutes, didn't get seated until after 8:35, so we had to stand inside the entrance for 50 minutes. They gave us five canolis for our wait - not worth it. I definitely won't go back with a party of more than two.
Here are some suggestions: (i) don't take reservations you can't keep (maybe you don't have the seating to honor reservations larger than 2 or 4), (ii) be realistic about when you can actually seat people, and (iii) when you have a major problem like this, talk to your customer and figure out what will make it right - dropping five canolis on a group that normally doesn't eat dessert won't accomplish that.
Very comfortable ambiance, very good food and service very special
The best pasta in NYC.
Amazing i finished my pasta in 9 min
The pasta was hard, not cooked. I appreciate al dents but this was ridiculous. Also we must have arrived at the change of shift as our first server was abrupt and I saw her put on her coat and leave shortly after speaking to us.
The woman at the table returned her meal because it “ was bland and not cooked” and the table on the other side placed their order and their server returned to the table to say the item he encouraged the person to order, was not available. I was disappointed by both the food and service and would not return.
I love this restaurant. I love the atmosphere, the food, his team and the food that is wonderful. Congratulations
Music was extremely loud and clubby, not suitable for a restaurant. The pasta ragu had no flavor for the price that was sold for. Service was ok. Don't think I will be going back there.
Music was WaY toooooo loud
Awful, it’s charged $100 for a pasta without knowing
Overall loved the food and concept of the place. Ambience was great as well. Was completely floored by the $95 pasta dish at the end of evening and the fact that the waitress wouldn’t think to mention price when she was reviewing specials. My friend also ordered one of the specials and again over $50. That’s almost a 4x markup vs their general pricing on dishes. Almost $200 just on 2 pasta dishes. Ok yes there was some truffles noted in the dish but I don’t think it’s fair for them to think anyone would ever assume such a hike. I don’t typically like to leave a negative review but I was so upset by how the entire order was managed and will not return simply because my friend and I felt completely snookered. Too bad as the food was delicious. Note to file everyone ... be sure to ask for pricing on anything presented to you off menu. Beware the specials!!!!
The pasta is overcooked and it is extremely noisy, impossible to communicate.
Having traveled and worked in Italy more than a dozen times, I’ve become a stickler about pasta perfection. The wait staff here are all Italian, gorgeous and accommodating. I had a wonderful homemade smoked rigatoni that was utterly perfect.
Good wine selection and tasty mixed drinks.
My only negative takeaway was that the pasta portion is on the small side. Since they don’t offer Segundi plates, the small portion was a bit of a disappointment. But overall, this is a great little spot. I will be returning.
