Sola Pasta Bar
Simplicity and balance of taste defines the restaurant's concept: matching a few perfectly chosen ingredients with the techniques and precision necessary to turn a great dish into a true sensory experience. What makes the difference between good food and great food? We have no doubt that the answer to this question is the passion of the person preparing the food.
Sola team is looking forward to seeing you, "LEAVE A BETTER PERSON THAN

My sister and I went out to dinner and absolutely LOVED this place. The food was amazing and the perfect portion. The atmosphere was so relaxed and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place.
Service great as usual but pasta seems to have slipped. Not as good as my first two visits
Had a reservation for 7:45, arrived at 7:47. We were told it would be 10 or 15 minutes, didn't get seated until after 8:35, so we had to stand inside the entrance for 50 minutes. They gave us five canolis for our wait - not worth it. I definitely won't go back with a party of more than two.
Here are some suggestions: (i) don't take reservations you can't keep (maybe you don't have the seating to honor reservations larger than 2 or 4), (ii) be realistic about when you can actually seat people, and (iii) when you have a major problem like this, talk to your customer and figure out what will make it right - dropping five canolis on a group that normally doesn't eat dessert won't accomplish that.
Very comfortable ambiance, very good food and service very special
The best pasta in NYC.
Amazing i finished my pasta in 9 min
The pasta was hard, not cooked. I appreciate al dents but this was ridiculous. Also we must have arrived at the change of shift as our first server was abrupt and I saw her put on her coat and leave shortly after speaking to us.
The woman at the table returned her meal because it “ was bland and not cooked” and the table on the other side placed their order and their server returned to the table to say the item he encouraged the person to order, was not available. I was disappointed by both the food and service and would not return.
I love this restaurant. I love the atmosphere, the food, his team and the food that is wonderful. Congratulations
Music was extremely loud and clubby, not suitable for a restaurant. The pasta ragu had no flavor for the price that was sold for. Service was ok. Don't think I will be going back there.
Music was WaY toooooo loud
Awful, it’s charged $100 for a pasta without knowing
Overall loved the food and concept of the place. Ambience was great as well. Was completely floored by the $95 pasta dish at the end of evening and the fact that the waitress wouldn’t think to mention price when she was reviewing specials. My friend also ordered one of the specials and again over $50. That’s almost a 4x markup vs their general pricing on dishes. Almost $200 just on 2 pasta dishes. Ok yes there was some truffles noted in the dish but I don’t think it’s fair for them to think anyone would ever assume such a hike. I don’t typically like to leave a negative review but I was so upset by how the entire order was managed and will not return simply because my friend and I felt completely snookered. Too bad as the food was delicious. Note to file everyone ... be sure to ask for pricing on anything presented to you off menu. Beware the specials!!!!
The pasta is overcooked and it is extremely noisy, impossible to communicate.
Having traveled and worked in Italy more than a dozen times, I’ve become a stickler about pasta perfection. The wait staff here are all Italian, gorgeous and accommodating. I had a wonderful homemade smoked rigatoni that was utterly perfect.
Good wine selection and tasty mixed drinks.
My only negative takeaway was that the pasta portion is on the small side. Since they don’t offer Segundi plates, the small portion was a bit of a disappointment. But overall, this is a great little spot. I will be returning.
We showed up and there was a MASSIVE event taking place. The music was blaring like it was a club. There was no hostess to seat us and it took us 20 minutes to make our way through the crowd and find a server that confirmed there was a tiny two person table that we could sit at. We couldn't hear ourselves let alone the waiter and the event taking place was overcrowding our table and experience. We had been looking forward to this reservation to celebrate my friends engagement and it was completely ruined. No one told us there would be an event and to be frank, the restaurant should have just closed for the event and cancelled/rescheduled our reservation. I would NEVER come back nor will I recommend this restaurant to a friend. They greatly mismanaged my reservation. Incredibly disappointing.
Worst pasta I’ve ever had in New York
How can you possibly charge $95 for a plate of pasta (Ok, it had white truffles), but not tell the customer what the plate cost??!! Poor service (had to wait 15 minutes standing up for our reservation; then slow to deliver food and quick to get us out) and ear-splitting decibel levels of music. I was embarrassed because we took out of friends and, of course, really disappointed. Two prior trips were good.
I can't remember how I found Sola, but I'm glad I did. It trends on the loud/bustling side, so know that going in, but if you're in that mood it's perfect. The pasta was awesome.
The music was unfortunately very loud and although the service was good the portions seemed very small and the pasta arrived lukewarm/cold. For a pasta bar it just seemed like the pasta was subpar and unimpressive.
Amazing! Very accomdoating and staff/chefs happy to help and make the experience great.!
Love it! Beet Salad and Fresh Tagliatelle Ragu with a Barolo.
Food and atmosphere not what it was when it first opened. Needs more oversight of the food and the staff by the chef. The service was inattentive and a bit of an attitude. Not service oriented. Music was outrageously loud and too techno. It’s a shame given the open air concept of the kitchen and dining, it could be so enjoyable. But it just wasn’t. Very disappointed.
very good pasta! very friendly service. great experience. will be back!
Excellent pasta. Had the spinach pasta with pea purée and pasta with veal ragu. Both were really good.
Made a table reservation for 8pm, wasn’t seated until 8:30pm. They did offer us a seat at the bar, but no. It’s still bath.
Went to Sola for date night and had a reservation sitting at the bar. Great atmosphere and food is delicious. We had the rigatoni carbonara which was recommended by the waiter and we loved it. Would definitely recommend this small intimate restaurant. TIP: make a reservation, even on a Sunday night it gets very busy after 7pm.
Great food. Extremely loud. So don’t go if you want to chat.
Major rip off, food is whatever and prices are high, try somewhere else.
Good food. Horrible service! Paid 18% gratuity but service was 100% was not worth it considering the $500+ tab.
Loud techno music. not a match for ambiance. Also service was terrible.
Life is a combination of magic and pasta.
Sola Pasta Bar is a place that I’ve been pining to go to. The pasta is cooked in woks. In front of you. So you have a ringside seat and participating in an immersive experience. But let’s get to it, start off with the showstoppers then close off with the starters:
This menu is small but each dish meticulously executed. Every plate, a piece taken care of with discipline, competence, professionalism, and a touch of flare. The Chef knowing that you under their spell. Chef Diego is a wizard and Richie and the rest of the staff took great care of us. I look forward to coming back.
Way too expensive and loud for food that did not taste good.
Accidentally didn’t ask the market price on truffle pasta... ooof $45! Really tasty but a little expensive
Absolutely amazing! My husband had the TAGLIATELLE AL ROSMARINO AL RAGU and loved it. I had the TONNARELLI CACIO E PEPE. I was ad when there were only a few bites left...even though I was stuffed! The dish was delicious! The cocktails were great, especially the white cosmo. Our server was wonderful. We met a friend, who was about 30 minutes late. He didn’t make us feel rushed while we waited. He kept bringing cocktails and bread. The portion size is nice and price is really reasonable especially for NYC. I can’t wait until we return to the city so we can eat here again!!
Delicious and well-portioned. Service could be more attentive.
The rosemary ragu was to die for ! Great pasta place in Soho!
Music extremely loud, impossible to talk. Waiters unorganized and not really attentive. More interested in making selfies than serving guests. Food and ambiente great!
Music way to loud to have a conversation at dinner. The food was so so. The waiter had good intentions but a birthday surprise was spoiled by the cook. There needs to be communication between the staff ahead of time. Not sure would go back.
Sola is truly authentic Italian cuisine. The portions are fair with the price and the quality is exceptional. My only critique is it was sooo loud in the restaurant. I went to meet with international friends around 6pm and we had a really difficult time conversing. So, definitely check this place out if you are looking for a louder atmosphere. The food will not disappoint!
