Sola Pasta Bar
Simplicity and balance of taste defines the restaurant's concept: matching a few perfectly chosen ingredients with the techniques and precision necessary to turn a great dish into a true sensory experience. What makes the difference between good food and great food? We have no doubt that the answer to this question is the passion of the person preparing the food.

Fabulous meal and amazing service!
My friend and I there went for an early dinner on a Thursday night. It was quiet at that time but later through the night got quite loud.
My friend had the margarita which was delicious & I had the aperol spritz. We shared the risotto of the day & the spaghetti neri alle volgone. Both were well made. For dessert we shared an affogato & it was yummy!
Seating at the pasta bar could be interesting but we chose the table. It’s a bit pricey but worth a try!
Really nice place. Mixed results on the food.
Can’t believe it took me so long to find out about this place!
Everything was outstanding. Food, service and attention to detail.
Had the cacio e pepe and the pasta with wild boar still can’t decide which one was better. Will be back! Bravi
Love this place. It’s casual and comfortable and the food is outrageously good. Great quality and unique pasta offerings. We love it for late lunch/happy hour. Great location and a perfect nyc pop-in.
Music was too loud to hear the conversation happening, waitress seemed too concerned talking with friends than ensuring our food was okay.
On the other hand, the food was delightful, which was one of the only good things about the experience.
Recommended place though extremely busy! Even with reservation, we had a wait of 20 minutes before being seated, another 20 min before someone came by to take the order. For 8pm reservation, we didn’t start eating until closer to 9pm. Great food though so next time will only go at non-peak times.
Everything was delicious. The only disappointment was dessert. I ordered the carrot cake and it was very dry.
Perfect spot for a fun date night! We went on a Friday night and the place was packed and had a really great ambiance. Definitely would recommend making a reservation and make sure to get seats at the bar because really fun to watch the chefs prepare the food. The cacio pepe dish was delicious but the other pasta dish we shared was pretty mediocre. Fun drink menu as well. Not insanely expensive but not cheap so would say it’s a good spot for date or occasion if you’re looking for a fun environment and place to eat before going out.
I really love the food here. Sit at the bar and watch real art with pasta. The pretentious crowd is too much, Tho!
Wonderful food, amazing service, great atmosphere and location. A must visit!
One of my favorite places in New York!
I enjoyed everything there, great food, presentation, etc...
Portions could/should be increased slightly.
New menu, so some food was not available.
Only thing I really didn’t like is the bar chairs are nearly impossible to move around it and no hooks for bags under the counter.
Other than that, I definitely recommend.
Amazing vibe. Food is superb. Best of Italy in NYC in a sexy swanky neighborhood!
Poor options on the menu, very average in terms of taste and quality.
I tried 4 pastas (mine and my friends) they all taste the same, unflavourd and nothing special, bad service !
Staff is amazing their sound music is great. Food is amazing.
Would absolutely recommend. I went for my birthday with 4 people on a day when there was a huge storm. The restaurant was open (thankfully) and I’m so glad I️t was!!! The food was amazing, the service was great, and the ambiance was even better. Unique concept overall, and they gave us cute gifts for making a pasta dish at home on our way out! Really solid spot that I will most definitely be returning to, be I️t for a birthday dinner or casual pop in!
Nice atmosphere, loved the interior, music, bar and seating arrangements. I came here with a friend to try it out. We ordered beet salad, smoked cannoli with mozzarela and tomato for apetizers, lasagna and homemade black spaghetti with clams and tiramisu for dessert. Everything tasted really good and the service was great.
Love it! The food, service and drinks are all top notch. Just finished dining here and already looking forward to the next visit!
My wife and I were here fot the third time and we were thrilled by each visit! The service was attentive, friendly; the food very delicious! We were treated to the owner, Marco, and the Chef in addition to our order. The presentation was beautiful and the cocktails, out of this world ...!! You leave with a pasta gift that made a divine treat for the next morning.
I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. My friend and I had a prosciutto and mozarela, cacio e pepe and lasagna. We had a very healthy appetizer and a very delicious pasta. The service was friendly, italianio, fast, and attentive. We had cheesecake for dessert. It was a savory treat- not sweet- but flavorful. The price was a little high but it was a fun night out at Soho in a cool spot.
We had to wait 30min for our 8pm reservation. The music was WAAAAAAY too loud and my boyfriend's lasagna came out cold (they took it back to heat it up). I've had good experiences here in the past but I will not go back. Not sure if they changed owner or something... but this was not how I remembered it (visited last time in December so it wasn't that long ago).
Locale raffinato e particolare, cibo ottimo e ben presentato; unico piccolo difetto se di difetto si può parlare la musica troppo alta che rende difficile parlare.
Assolutamente da provare !
Very good service, good pasta, expensive of course, be carful when you are given the tips very tricky that is my only concern.
Very good. The only problem was the lack of good vegetarian friendly options.
Sola Pasta is a true gem with its phenomenal food and staff. Definitely my go to spot for any occasion; visitors in town, date night, girls' night out, anything. Alex is an AMAZING chef and always makes us feel welcome and special.
Average pasta with slow service which is atypical for NYC, added tip without asking. Will never recommend this place to anybody.
Really yummy pasta. I’ve had the tomatoe sauce and carbonara. Both were A+. Would recommend as a spot for smaller parties. Prob better for a date or two friends than a big group.
The pasta is amazing, but the atmosphere doesn't feel good, I really like the pasta and the wine, but the ambiance of the place has some kind of delusion.
Great service , phenomenal food!!!!
Portions were small but big on flavor, better than expected experience. Menu options weren’t ample, but we chose well.
The pasta bar was very cool and our food was delicious. Unfortunately, the waitsaff was not as great, spending more time walking around at talking then providing service. We had long waits between being seated and our drink/food orders being taken. We also had to wait about 20 minutes to even be able to ask for a check, even after our waiter walkied by us mutiple times and us making eye contact and trying to wave her down. The food is good enough to go back for, so hopefully next time we get a server who doesn’t give us the cold shoulder.
Cacio e Pepe and cannoli is to die for
Incredible pasta, amazing wine, friendly staff, good music and very cool location. Highly recommend. 10/10.
Nice spot with a killer fresh pasta (must try). Desserts and cocktails are great too. Portions were just right, service was great and cool vibes. I will definitely go back next time I'm in SoHo.
Just fantastic! The service and food are top notch and they have cute Italian servers and chefs. The food is very authentic and I will be back here for sure.
Wow what a great experience! We had a lot of food, and absolutely everything was delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Two thumbs up.
This was our first time at Sola Pasta Bar and we loved it! Highly recommended restaurant in NYC. It is a pasta bar, almost like a hibachi restaurant where your food is cooked right in front of you in a bar-like hip top setting. It is a very trendy and hip Italian spot in New York City. Great crowd, young and vibrant. The food was outstanding. Some of the best pasta that I have had in the city. He got the lasagne and I got the Cacio e Pepe. The chefs were very friendly as well. They even let us sample some of the other pasta dishes and sauces free of charge. (All amazing as well.) We also enjoyed the appetizer - mozzarella and fresh prosciutto... YUM! We will definitely be back!
