Great new spot...Food was fresh and amazing. We will definitely be back!!
The food was ok. The music was too loud.
Simply delicious pastas, nice wines but not really inexpensive
The food was exquisite. My opinion is that pasta should be aldente. Both of our dishes, spaghetti with oil and Calabrian chokes and rigatoni with a meat sauce, were cooked to perfection. I'll be trying cooking pasta in a wok but don't expect it to be close to the quality. The only improvement I recommend is to enhance the wine list. Too big of a variance in price between standard and reserve prices.
Love love all of it- food, music, ambiance and drinks! The pasta is not only spectacular but fun to watch how they make it! Great spot. Grazie e ci vediamo al più presto! Lisa
We were a group of 13 and the service was impeccable and friendly, the food was authentic and perfectly cooked, and the venue really cool. Highly recommended. It has become my new Soho fave. They even printed a special personalized menu for the occasion.
Pasta was delicious but I was still hungry afterwards.
The food is worth the long waiting and the noise level. The waiters are super nice. The concept is great! A bit pricy but so is NYC...
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Love the open kitchen setting so that you can watch your food being prepared!
Wow what a great experience! We had a lot of food, and absolutely everything was delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Two thumbs up.
We went for lunch on Saturday before going to the Harry Potter marathon. The décor is modern but inviting, the service was friendly and attentive, and the pasta dishes were outstanding. Highly recommended.
The staff at Sola Pasta is amazing and friendly, I feel at home! The food is truly heavenly and I know I have found the best Italian in NYC
Not impressed. Food was okay, not bad but not great. Hardly anyone in the place yet the waiter took his time serving us. Gave us the wrong menu, paid little to no attention to us, etc. I had heard great things about Sola from a friend but won't recommend this to others. Also, the music was so loud it was impossible to talk, and this is a TINY plane.
It was awful
Some hair was inside my friend's food.
We stopped eating immediately( it was just a few min after food s coming) , could not eat.
They (sever)didn't say sorry when we found & requested slove for that issue.
Just said " r u sure it is not ur hair 100% .
We really shocked...we lost saying under that attitude.
Thay don't have any customer care system and it was terrible experience in my whole NYC restaurant list.
And chef was coming after twice requested for slove problem and he said "we don't charge food price and sorry "
We shared conversation about rude and terrible situations.
I and friends understand what happened , it was mistake hair issue but don't make sense their customer care ( speeches , article and follow up)
Eventually I never go there and never recommend sola pasta to my friends
Inside avcado .... Short light brown hair. In addition terrible costomer service.
It was worst experience in my whole Manhattan restaurant
We ate at the bar, fun watching the chef's. Hot stop, a bit loud, but great environment with great food. Small place, and make sure you make a reservation. It's worth the wait, and I'll be back on my next trip to NY.
Music was too loud
The food was great! I especially liked the cacio e pepe and the sundried tomato, mozzarella crostini. But the billing system is really strange. The waitress just shows up with a little tablet and without swiping the card you have to choose a tip amount while she's holding it in front of your face and then it generates an amount on the screen and you just have to swipe it. Like it's shady because they actually give you the check before and you give your card to them. Then they just bring the whole thing back to you with the tablet and it's just...odd.
This was our first time at Sola Pasta Bar and we loved it! Highly recommended restaurant in NYC. It is a pasta bar, almost like a hibachi restaurant where your food is cooked right in front of you in a bar-like hip top setting. It is a very trendy and hip Italian spot in New York City. Great crowd, young and vibrant.
The food was outstanding. Some of the best pasta that I have had in the city. He got the lasagne and I got the Cacio e Pepe. The chefs were very friendly as well. They even let us sample some of the other pasta dishes and sauces free of charge. (All amazing as well.) We also enjoyed the appetizer - mozzarella and fresh prosciutto... YUM!
We will definitely be back!
Indifferent wait staff catering to wealthy tourist mothers, any one who is not "mia momma" will be overlooked. The music is LOUD, even by NYC standards. All this sets the stage for overpriced, perfectly cooked bland pasta. Cesar salad was the best of the pick if you can believe it.
Loud and no ambiance. Leave it to the tourists. It’s all yours!
Sola Bar has great music, outstanding food and wonderful wait service!! The waiters were super nice, especially Andrea and the food so fresh and delicious. Loved the chic vibe and the fact that they cook in the middle of the restaurant so you can watch. Very cool!
Walked by earlier in the day and loved the idea of the open kitchen. Went back for an early dinner. Attentive staff. Simple menu. Good wine. What more could you ask for!
Love this neiborhood gem. Service is terrific and food scrumptious!!!!!cant wait to go back!!
Excellent pasta dishes.
Cool combination of common tables, pasta bar and regular tables with good, professional and friendly service.
Nice Prosciutto prepared on antique slicer.
Only complaint would be the music is too loud.
Just turn it down a little and you've got a great spot.
I usually go to Sola Pasta Bar, you can’t go wrong with it.
The ambiance is incredible as the food.
It is so nice to sit at the counter and see the chefs cooking while they are explaining all about the dish.
As they say:” Life is a combination of magic and pasta”.
Love the food at Sola as well as the experience.
Everything at this place is good. Their olive oil is so tasty!! We ordered the Cacio-e-pepe, which was creamy and exquisite. We also ordered the special for that day which was Aglio Olio pasta with pepperoncini.
They have various vegetarian choices. We tried all the desserts on offer and we loved all of them.
Would highly recommend this place.
Food was great, freshly prepared and delicious.
Food was fine, drinks were great, service was poor
The food was exceptional but the service was subpar. Mentioned multiple times—at the time of booking and at the meal—that we were celebrating a birthday and nothing was done...no candle or anything! The server was MIA most of the evening and completely distracted when around. Was unfortunate considering how good the meal was.
Awful service, food was average, over priced, music way too loud. Would never recommend or go back.
The menu is very limited, and our entire group left hungry. We had to go somewhere else to get more food after, and each couple spent about $150. The service was bad. I ordered a Woodford Rye, and they brought me the bourbon instead, and they kept saying it was the Woodford, meaning he had no idea what I was trying to tell him. All good. The food was very meh, and not even close to on par with other good italian restaurants in the city. They have maybe 6 entrees total, and like only one or two options for vegetarians, and also no bread or anything. The only thing that is good is the location, but for SoHo the food should be a lot better. When we finished our meal, we ordered dessert, but they never came back or asked if we wanted another drink. Since they were canolis and were gone in like two bites, the waiter came back after we finished our desserts and just said, I need this table in like 10 minutes. We were all ready to leave, so no big deal, but I think he could have said, Can I get you anything else? Or Would you like me to bring the check? Or anything other than, I need the table. We wanted to leave too. We just didn't see you but once after our food came when you took our dessert order. Terrible experience.
Amazing food. Some of the best pasta I have ever had. All of the food is super fresh and you can watch them make each individual dish as they have an open kitchen in the middle of the restaruant. Highly recommend the cacio e pepe!
Loud music but we got used to it. Convenient to our hotel and food was good! Authentic Italian!
An amazing dining experience! Sit at the BAR! It's like sitting at the Kitchen table. Chefs are polite engaging and will entertain your questions. The food is amazing!
Fresh, authentic, delicious pasta simply and elegantly made in front of you. Great place for a causal gathering. Wish it was closer to my house!!
Truly Italian experience. Great food and good selection of Italian wines.
Wine list is really small. Pasta was very good. Open kitchen is always fun to watch.
The food was delicious, the vibe of the restaurant was romantic and modern. Will absolutely be returning.
