SOL Southwest Kitchen & Tequila Bar
SOL blends bold flavors of the Southwest with our own Southern culinary influences. We like to keep things fresh. With a focus on dishes that let seasonal ingredients and select spices shine. The real star of our kitchen is our wood fire grill, and all menu items—from sauces to salsas to handcrafted cocktails—start from scratch and are made to order. All tequilas are 100% agave, citrus fruits are juiced daily, and avocados aren’t cut until you order guacamole.
Great time - food and service was outstanding. Ryan was our waiter and made it a fun time.
Very disappointed in taste of food. My daughter and I were visiting in Charleston and opted for dinner at SOL. We ordered two different things and neither of us liked the taste. Our waitress was very nice. We just did not express our opinion of the food to her. We will not go back nor recommend to anyone. Nice place but poor food quality.
Food was great, very reasonable, we got in quickly despite no reservation and I loved my flourless chocolate dessert!
Service was excellent! We tried the sweet potato fries and they were delicious. Will definitely go back
The margarita’s were clearly watered down. The Napoleon was served cold and pork carnitas were dry, tasted like saw dust. My husband had fish tacos. The fish were practically nonexistent, measuring approximately 2 inches by 1/2 inch. The tacos were warm not hot. We will be sure to avoid SOL in the future.
Came for a casual brunch with friends and we had so much fun! I loved that the patio doors were totally opened and we were able to have some fresh air while still sitting inside. It seemed like a really busy Sunday brunch but our server Jared was awesome and was attentive to our table without making us feel rushed on such a busy day. Everyone's food looked delicious and we took advantage of the $10 bottomless mimosa deal!
Excellent service and food, great Rita’s!!!
Food was good, awesome outdoor patio, great margaritas
Food was excellent. Service was good, and friendly.
The ambiance, location, and customer service was perfect. The chicken quesadilla was not that great because it was more cheese than meat. I could barely taste the meat and it was not good. Great place for a date night and some drinks tho. The food just needs a little fine tuning. Very reasonably priced as well.
Overall, we’ll be back. We just wished the food was better
We've eaten at 2 different locations for SOL, downtown & Mount Pleasant. The food isn't fancy but it's always been delish and service was very good.
We brought a group of eight and we all enjoyed a great meal. the waitress was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We would definitely go back again!
Great place for drinks and small plates. We went early before a performance so restaurant was very quiet. Guacamole and tuna tacos were both delicious.
Location is good. Food was sub-par. Service was good.
Food was fine. Service was less than desirable. We were seated and no one waited on us for 10 minutes.
We left the seated table and sat at the bar. Service there was even worse.
I understand it was happy hour and we wanted to eat. However, it is up to the establishment to staff accordingly or not serve.
Always VERY slow. Menu and food are pretty good, margaritas are excellent, and the vibe is cool, but there is no excuse for having to wait 20+ minutes for a drink and a severely backed up kitchen, ESPECIALLY when it’s not packed.
Good food and service. While visiting Charlestown, I visited SOL for a quick lunch. My server was Autumn, and she was very attentive. I enjoying the Kitchen Chicken sandwich and fries.
SOL Kitchen was very accommodating for our large group, but we should have been assigned ore than 1 server. Food came out of the kitchen in good time, but order taking took forever and the server did not keep up with drinks and waters. She was not proactive in second drink orders, but instead needed to be pursued.
Great food, terrible service
Place was empty, and didn't even have the table ready , left and went elsewhere.
We all got salads and we all wanted to go back the next day for more! The chimmichurri steak is outstanding (maybe a little overpriced for the serving size but the sauce is so good, we really didn’t care). The margaritas hit the spot too - the prickly pear and cucumber jalapeño were our favorites.
I got a chimichanga with chicken. It was fair. The chili sauces under the chimichanga was bitter and overwhelmed the entire plate. We sat outside which was nice but had to ask for silverware. The chips and queso were yummy. Husband got a good dish, Mahi with vegetables. He said it was good.
Nice atmosphere but hardly anyone there on a Saturday night. Out of two common Mexican beers my party ordered. Spicy margaritas were fine. Ordered two apps for the party and left.
Went here with the family after the Christmas show. Very convenient location! As soon as we entered, we were given a warm greeting and seated quickly. Our server was excellent, and the food was really good!!! Would definitely recommend a visit!!
Waited 1.5 hours for our food to arrive and it was like warm when it did. Granted we were a large party but there was one other table. The place was empty. Drinks also took forever, and one came with the wrong tequila.
Food and service was not good.
Went here on a fri evening at 630pm based on a friend’s recommendation for happy hour specials. ($5 drinks and apps). Restaurant is pretty on inside—modern and cool-looking, but was DEAD. Service was slow, and food was just ok. Serving sizes were small. Basil sangria drink was good, but margaritas were also just ok. Would not return, especially with so many other good food/atmosphere options in Charleston
Very pleasant. Autumn our waitress was exceptionally nice.
Great place for Brunch.
Everything was great
Took about 10 minutes to finally get greatest and seated which was not impressive but waitress and food were great. What started off as a rocky start finished well
Food was very good. Very friendly staff and very attentive. Would definitely recommend.
The food was quite amazing. And their bloody Mary’s are fabulous!
Great food and great location. Perfect if you're going to see a concert at the Charleston Music Hall. Service was excellent.
Very attentive and helpful wait staff (Brooke). The food and drinks very delicious, outdoor seating was also pleasant.
The food was good but in no way outstanding. Fresh but limited in choices by attempt to be more than a Mexican restaurant with their non traditional sauces etc.
All of our food was over cooked and extremely chewy. Service was good. Pretty restaurant.
Great food and wonderful location.
We had a wonderful time here. Food and Drinks are top notch. Great service as well! Great place to stop in and enjoy some good food and company!
