I went for the view and was almost taken to eat under a canopy in the parking lot. I requested indoors because of the water view & my party received two walls and a kitchen. Waste of time.

Terrible experience on my birthday. Our food took over an hour and no one ever came to apologize for the wait. When it finally arrived it was missing ingredients listed on the menu. We went there for my birthday and left without eating dinner.

Our waiter was the BEST... I didn’t get his name (mistake) but he made jokes had us laughing.. and sang happy birthday at another table.. JUST WOW.. a voice too.. the entire place was clapping!! Put him in charge..!!!!

It was amazing, the food was very good and tasted unique u like Mexican food I have had before, highly recommend the ambiance is very nice and we were seated outside with a great view, only thing was when we ordered drinks for the kids they didn’t have the rings we asked for twice but def recommend!

Walked in with the hostess wearing their masks under their nose, the bartenders no masks and some under their nose, cooks same thing. We sat down looked at menu and i went to bathroom to see if cooks had put their masks on and they still were not wearing them so we left.

Ate in their outdoor tent which I think contributed to the mediocre service. Overall this menu could be great but too many details missed. Queso served without chips or tortilla’s, tacos served without offering sides, etc. I had the Chile rellenos with shrimp, which was tasty but not exceptional . Others had tacos and while food was good, we’ve had better at LA food trucks. We all thought the pricing was outrageous- $10 for a taco should be a mind-blowing experience and this wasn’t . Service was also slow and lagging. Won’t be back.

Absolutely terrible experience. Starting with sticky tables, food scraps under our feet @ the table and around the table. Poor wait service with Appetizers being delivered too late - then not much room on table as entré quickly followed - then entre food getting cold since we had to finish the appetizers first. Salsa without any spicy kick; ceviche getting way lower in taste and presentation. Honestly we wished we had not gotten dressed up for this dinner and most in our party wished for 5 layer burrito and bean burrito from Taco Bell.

I love and work in NPB and have been to Sol a lot; most of the time the experience has been outstanding but visiting on Easter was disappointing. The host did not accommodate the request to sit near the window despite making a reservation and request in advance. When tables opened up they did not offer to move us. Margaritas were hardly drinkable (the bartender did not bother to core the jalapeño for my margarita and the entire drink was literally filled with seeds???) which prevented us from ordering more. Food was okay. Service was not great.

Even though we had a reservation, we were given a table in the outside covid tent in the far back corner. It was incredibly crowded and it it took a very long time to get drinks and then over an hour for our food to arrive. (Carne asada street tacos) Super small portions and looked like it had been under a heat lamp for quite a while. Dry tortillas etc. We came in our boat to find the guest slips were empty and convenient but the restaurant atmosphere was like a cafeteria with valet parking. We made a reservation on this day because it was our anniversary and indoor dining was being allowed again. It was a disappointing experience.

I booked this location under the impression that they were offering Sunday brunch as advertised on their website. Unfortunately, they were not. The waitress was quick in getting our drinks and taking our order but the food took forever to come out and my fiancé didn't get what he wanted.

Had a delightful Easter Brunch overlooking the channel. Despite the large number of holiday guests, our server was friendly and extremely attentive, often returning to refill drink orders and to ensure our requests were satisfied. The music was pleasant and not distracting. Valet parking super convenient. Beautiful setting, delicious food. Fair price.

The waiters were nice but not the hostess. We made a reservation and they made us wait for almost an hour . There were other people came after us but they let them in first. They only let us in after we stood up and asked after 45 mins wait. Also we were the only Asians in the waiting guests that night so we felt a discrimination. I would not come back here.

Have been to SOL before but never had this bad of an experience / quality of service/food. We were seated 35 minutes late for our 8:30 reservation. Told upon being seated that anything we ordered on the menu from the kitchen would take 30 minutes. Ordered two guacamole’s for the table in the meantime. Only received one. Ordered food right away then the waiter came back 10 minutes later to let us know the tacos two people in our party ordered weren’t available anymore. When we received the food, some ordered weren’t correct and one of the taco plates was the extra extra Spicey to where we could not eat it... the same dish I have ordered before and it was medium. I ordered the burrito and asked to customize and nothing I asked was given to me.

Later, we saw the manager sneak into the kitchen and grab a pice of steak from the grill and drop it in his mouth with bare hands... TWICE!! Unacceptable in my opinion.

The restroom sink was broken and there was no running water in the men’s room. Nobody at the restaurant, especially the manager, apologized for the wait/slow service or attempted to aknowledge the sub-par service.

I am very disappointed in the service, food quality, and management. I will happily spend $12 for tacos at another Mexican restaurant in the area next time.

Food was not up to par. Indoor seating was too close no precautions excita servers wearing masks. Soup was full of grizzle and tortilla strips had been sitting in there a while before reaching the table. Ordered cucumbers they brought old ones from the bar. We go here a lot. today wasn’t great but we will give it another try! When

As of 3/27/2021, there is outdoor dining and about 25% indoor capacity from what we were told. Even with a reservation, it will take about half an hour to get a table indoors. The staff was pretty great with helping us get a table as my girlfriend and I had not been on a date night for months, and it seemed like they genuinely cared. Live music was outside only in the tent seating area! Food was solid, service was solid considering our server was still new by her own admission. I am grateful for the experience!

Was literally the worst service I have ever had. The food took over an hour to get, had to ask for chips and salsa after having had waited 30 minutes. Completely forgot our appetizer. With the outdoor seating they are taking way too many customers without having the ability to service them. Used to really like this place. Wont go back at night ever again.

My reservation was at 6:00, my table wasn’t - 40 min wait to sit inside, otherwise in a loud dirty beer fest tent 5 feet from PCH! I was directed to a “barrel” to wait with a crowd for a waiter to order a drink! Are you kidding me??
This was a frat party, not a Newport dining experience.
What a joke- we left while waiting— we will never be back

We were not serviced. The ppl who were supposed to be our servers didn’t acknowledge us. We sat there for 40min with nothing. I had to ask for service from a server who did not have our section. We are Hispanic customers and middle class. We were discriminated for that. Everyone else who got sat after us received service immediately. I have never felt so belittled. The gentlemen who ended up serving us was very good with us and helped us quickly. As for the 2 females who were ignoring us I am appalled for the treatment we received from them. We will not be returning to a Mexican restaurant who made Mexicans feel less than.
