SOL Mexican Cocina - Denver
The food is excellent and a great value for the price. I will be back. I enjoyed the music as well

FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE
OMG!! Some of the best food I have ever had. I am a vegetarian and their options were amazing. Can’t wait to go back!!
Hi Alec, Thank you for the feedback...and I couldn't agree more. As a fellow vegan, I LOVE that we have so many options on our menu to cater to our taste...and WOW...we do it well. Next time you're in, be sure to give something new a try as we have a ton of vegetarian options.
Spicy and excellent as always
Great food and wonderful service!
Our waitress, Sofia, was lovely, efficient and made the evening very special for us! Everyone was great! First time here, but we’ll be back!
Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience with us. We have such a great team that truly embrace what service is all about and love what they do. So happy you had that experience as well. We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future. Whether it be for brunch, happy our or Taco Tuesday, be sure to say hi!!
Upbeat place for good Mexican and drinks. Nice ambiance, not too dark, not too light, just right. Service is excellent. Great Happy hours where the prices allow you to really chow down on some good tacos or try 1, or 2, or even maybe 3 different margaritas. The different seating arrangements (full table-meal, tall-top tables, bar, sofa) allow you to fit the mood you are in.
Wonderful food and staff. Very nice interior, we will be back.
We dined on a Saturday night. We arrived early for our reservation and were sat late. We got drinks at the bar while we waited. They honored a coupon for 2 free street tacos. We had the fish and carnitas, which were good. We ordered another round of the same drinks and mine was completely different than what I got from the bar earlier. It tasted about the same (serrano) but it was not made correctly. I asked the server if I could get the grilled estofado without peppers and he said sure. I then changed my order to the el volcan (chicken dish). I was disappointed to find the dish loaded with red peppers. There is NO mention of peppers on the menu. It listed tomatoes and red onions. there were 3 times as many peppers as onions yet it is not listed as an ingredient. I mentioned it to the server, he apologized and said he didn't know they were putting peppers back in the dish. Sounds like some training and communication needs to happen! He took off my margarita. Other than the peppers, it was good as are the rice/beans. We had the seven deadly sins for dessert because they ran out of the churro dessert before 8:30 but was disappointed the ice cream was not vanilla bean-the chocolate cookie was the only part I really liked.
Very fun place with good, authentic food. Very vibrant/energetic which is a fun feel, but that does mean it can be a little noisy. The service and food were great.
Celebrating my daughters 18 th birthday here was a mistake.
I would not use place as a destination party again. Didn’t seem like a party atmosphere. Though the website made it look much livelier and fun.
The waiter was less than interactive or fun with the girls. Just another table though we had giant balloons and giggling girls arrive. The atmosphere was much more subdued than expected. We ended up taking our cake back to the hotel to have there
Great place for quiet conversation and delicious overpriced food and atmosphere.
Everything was great except our table. We had 5 people and were sat at a high bar table for 4 people. Meanwhile an adjacent table sat empty. Not sure why we were put there but it had an impact on our experience.
Misleading mimosa pricing on their website. Actually $8 instead of $3. Bottomless still a great deal. Awesome food and location!
Good food for reasonable price in a place with nice ambiance. I wished they had two guys for valet parking as we had to wait 10 minutes for him to show up.
Our group of four women was celebrating a friend’s 60th birthday. Both food and service were outstanding. The restaurant even treated the birthday “girl” to a dessert of cinnamon-sugared tortillas and ice cream topped with a birthday candle.
Wonderful brunch with out of town folks! We’ll be back.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sol. The hostess was very patient and kind when we arrived late for our reservation. We were quickly seated at a table and served chips with fantastic salsa and bean dip. Our taco entrees were excellent, as was the guacamole and Cadillac margarita :)
Will definitely return!
went on tuesday for discount tacos/margaritas. very energetic with a live band. great service, great food!
Great food, exceptional service.
New Years Eve. Great drinks and food! The singer was also really good
I think they were understaffed (service was slow), otherwise I would have rated it higher.
This restaurant was very, very good when it first opened. It seems like the taste is not as strong now. The cauliflower tacos were so bland and boring. The waygu steak portion was super small for the price. The salsa was flat. Disappointing since it was one of our favorites. (I even have her cookbooks.)
Great authentic Mexican cuisine. Wonderful choices on the menu and great service. Excellent Margarita's
Usually an amazing place
Tonight was not great
Not greeted for 15 minutes at table
Drinks had to be returned
2nd round great
Just an off night
But manager stepped up and took care of us.
SOL has an extensive menu with creative specialties from Baja. The food was outstanding! Service and atmosphere were terrific.
It was dinner for two for my birthday and I put BIRTHDAY in the notes to the restaurant.
The host and the server did not acknowledge the birthday at all.
I left a message on the receipt to check Open Table notes.
I’ll be back as we love the food! Too bad they didn’t read the details.
We had a party of six earlier in the month and the server bent over backwards knowing we were celebrating a birthday - My wife’s.
This birthday was mine 12/21/19.
We had a great time at Sol. Our waiter was Dineen and very attentive to a large group.
Will definitely be coming back. Food was great and there was a wide variety to choose from-but not too many options, which I appreciate! Our server was somewhat absent, but I’m thinking he had quite a few tables to look after.
We ordered 2 of the Shrimp Chile Relleno. The waiter came back and said they only had one left. I let my friend have the last one and I ordered the Chile Poblano Relleno de Elote. I was disappointed in my selection. Won’t have that again. It was still an enjoyable evening.
If you promote Taco Tuesday with affordable drinks and food, then you would why not staff up for it. Not at Sol. They are understaffed with servers who can't get the drinks out on a timely basis and don't know what their specials are. Really, really bad service with mediocre food. We have eaten at Sol many times, won't be back any time soon.
Server brought appetizers to the table the same time as the main entrees and we had to ask repeatedly for more water.
I can't say enough about this place. The cocktails are fantastic. I had a blackberry ginger margarita and a strawberry basil martini and the flavors in both were amazing. Also amazing was the food. The coconut calamari was tender and tasty; the shrimp quesadilla had just the right amount of spice and juicy shrimp. We were there late afternoon, before the dinner crowd, so it was pretty low-key quiet. Great ambiance and the servers were very friendly. Had no problems with the order. The only tiny hiccup was the hostess. She took us to a booth that was just a few feet away from the entrance and because it was a bit too drafty when the door opened, I asked if we could be moved further away. She seemed a bit irritated and the smile on her face disappeared but moved us to a table several feet away from the door.
Everything was tasty, but their prices are remarkably high for what you get. While my burrito was delicious, it was 95% black beans and filling with a total of maybe 6 small shrimp. The salsa was great, could have eaten a gallon. Our server was awesome, she was nice and patient with us, I really appreciated the effort she put into taking care of us. I’ll happily eat at Sol again, but only if I’m invited by somebody else.
great night at Sol - there was live music that was very good and the ceviche and tacos were amazing. Only complaint is wine prices (yikes) - definitely the most I have ever spent for a glass of wine. Recommend nonetheless
Excellent food, buzzy ambience. Brought two young kids and they had good kids menu.
I thought it was a little pricey for the portion sizes but I and everyone else really liked the food.
Great atmosphere and exceptional flavors that make this an awesome choice to experience mexican food from a whole new angle.
It was almost chilly where we sat because the front door doesn’t stay shut. In cold weather ask for a table away from the entrance.
The atmosphere, energy, service, and of course the food are inviting and keep us going back.
The food and the service was on point. Got a table located in a vibrant area as requested. Great for groups.
