Ambience is excellent, food is good. Wine is incredibly overpriced and multiple lower priced wine options are unavailable, so they try to force you to pay $17/glass. Watch out for the 20% “service fee” that is added to the bill with the hope you won’t notice……when I only had a sandwich and one drink, I did notice. I think this is incredibly inappropriate and an obvious attempt to take advantage of a consumer that is on vacation. The manager didn’t even come to try to explain or apologize. Beware.

This place has a great ambience, but unfortunately the food was adequate for the price. The lobster mac and cheese we would not recommend as the lobster was tough. The grouper was cooked great, but lacked flavor.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, stuffing mashed potatoes and vegetables, with gravy and cranberry sauce. Food was nicely prepared, hot and very tasty. Bottle of wine from a decent list of reasonably priced wines. The server was friendly and attentive.

We loved our experience at the Sol by the Sea Restaurant. Our family came on Thanksgiving evening and had the Thanksgiving special which was excellent. Omeil was our waiter and he was fantastic! He made sure we had everything and was very attentive. In fact everyone was very attentive to us. Probably 4 or 5 different staff members checked on us including the man who was at the host station when he didn't have anything else to do. The covered but open ambiance by the ocean was beautiful and added to the experience. It was very expensive, but we were prepared for that. I would very highly recommend the restaurant.

Our waiter was amazing! Thank you John Edward for making this experience perfect on Thanksgiving. Also, thanks to Nicole Ceechetto and Javier and the staff there that checked in with us periodically to make sure our time there was special.

Our meal took a very long time to arrive. We were waiting for what seemed like 30 minutes. We were asked if we wanted another drink. The fish was bland and the risotto was cold. We were too tired to complain and wait for a correction. We were told the tickets for appetizers weren’t printed. The dessert we tried to order was sold out.

We were disappointed overall. When we were seated, 2 of the 4 chairs were covered in a syrupy goo that unfortunately covered my husbands pants. It was impossible to get off and we were offered a “sorry”. The food was just ok. The drinks were a bit watery (I think they were sitting for a while(. In any case, I don’t recommend this restaurant for anything other than the atmosphere.

This place was very disappointing. I ordered the FL lobster roll after asking the server about it. It came out smelling fishy and very chewy. After one bite I had the server take it away. I ordered the mini poke taco which were good. The server never asked if something was wrong or bad with the lobster roll and we were charged for it. We interacted with the server 4 times including dessert and check.

It was decent. Gorgeous restaurant although when we asked to take their time on the meals they brought out the mains right after we got the apps and we were done dinner in 27 minutes…. Not exactly the relaxed vibe you want on vacation but it was still good

Very nice waterfront restaurant on the inside the Playa Largo resort. Service by Elice was fantastic as were the mussels. Would be a great place to catch the sunset!!

Chef Ricardo and the FOH manager tonight made an awesome team delivering hand crafted experiences. Chef personally made an amazing whole fish for our dinner! He took time to come speak with us at the table and connect a bit. I would certainly recommend SOL to anyone in future. Thanks again team!

Absolutely amazing. Executive Sioux Chef Ricardo is amazing and our server Elsie was incredible. The food, the atmosphere…everything was way beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend!!!

We absolutely loved this restaurant! We had a very nice table with a beautiful view of the water! The service was excellent and our dinner was delicious! We had the grouper with coconut rice and the whole snapper! We will definitely be back!

We have been coming to this restaurant for years now and we love this place but now it got even better since the new Chef ( Ricardo) got in charge of the Kitchen, he tries to satisfy each customer and his food is delicious, he is always going around table by table making sure everyone is enjoying their food, This is the best chef Playa Largo Resort has got, congratulations keep on the good work…

Arrived early and was told they couldn’t seat us and there were many tables open along with early times on open table still available. Also there was a small bar there which the hostess didn’t even offer us to sit at while waiting, just said come back in a half an hour which was past our reservation time. Took a while for waiter to come, had to ask for utensils, and wasn’t told of the specials as others had lobster and stone crabs and that wasn’t on the menu. Had to constantly ask for refills on water and both entrees were a little over cooked/dry. Also wasn’t given bread.

The food was incredible as was the service. The chef came out to greet us and share his thoughts about the menu and recommendations. We ate as a family and everyone treated us so well, including the kids, which they really appreciated. We had the same servers a few nights in a row and they were on top of our favorites! Highly recommend a reservation as they can fill quickly and this helps maintain reasonable expectations. We love this place!

We loved our visit here. It was a passing through reservation and did not disappoint. We got a high top overlooking the dock and the food hit the spot and cocktails were on point! Thanks Samantha. Our server was courteous and on it. We were served promptly and had our requests tended to immediately. We would definitely recommend this spot!

Food was excellently prepared and the plating was impeccable. Service from our server (I think we got lucky since it seemed like this gentleman was likely the best server of all of them, based on looking at the others who all seemed kind of robotic and our server was super friendly, helpful, and efficient). We also appreciated how the head chef came out to greet everyone at their tables including us…seems like a super nice, friendly guy and was there to answer any questions we had. I would’ve given Sol by the Sea 5 stars BUT we were taken back by the extra 20% “service charge” that our server explained was a tip that is shared across all the servers and staff; of course I felt the need to provide an additional 20% tip that’s specifically went directly to our one and only server. But seriously, $230 total then for 2 fish dishes, 1 Caesar salad shared between the two of us, a couple drinks, 1 beer, 1 cappuccino, and 1 very small piece of mediocre key lime pie (this is Key Largo folks)…that meal would’ve and should’ve been $180 with 20% tip to the server just 25 miles north in Miami. While we appreciated the food and the atmosphere, they’re price gauging customers who may or may not be tourists…we live just 65 mi north in Palm Beach County. So I took 2 stars off for this nonsense! 😏
