You'd expect a place like this to be really expensive. The food was great -- steak & eggs, very good, and the french toast was amazing. The space itself is pretty cool and cozy, menu has some great options. Limited drink options but wine/beer was reasonably priced. Service was great.
I was visiting NYC and looking for convenient restaurant. I booked based on the rave reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was sub-par. Tables were extremely crowded. At one point, the manager sat a 3 top at a 2 top table next to us so that one of the diners was literally touching the side of our table; she was visibly uncomfortable. The food was average at best. The service was acceptable.
Service and food were excellent. Owner/ manager came to our table to ask us how our dinner was, which I thought was a very nice gesture. Only thing that I can complain about was the noise and cramped seating, as tables are very close together. I understand it’s New York City though and you will get the tight seating.
Excellent service and great cuisine period a super enjoyable vibe. Could be one of my new favorite places in New York City. Will definitely go again soon. I especially like the Busboys Grant who gave us exemplary service.
It was very, very loud! Deafeningly so. Ordered four small plates. One (scallops) was excellent; other three just okay.
Everything started out well - we had a reservation for four and when a fifth person came, they changed our table and were accommodating. However, the kitchen was not able to keep up with the very busy Saturday night crowd. It took over an hour for the entrees to arrive, and that was with our insistence that one person had to leave. Four of the five dishes were good, gnocchi, branzino, (two orders) and satay - mussels were sent back, undercooked. They removed it from the bill because at that point we could not imagine the wait to replace it. I think on a weeknight, this would still be a good neighborhood place and clearly the business was hopping. I might return on a quiet evening, but never again on a Saturday night.
Great service and great boozy brunch drinks! Food was decent from the brunch deal menu though a la carte orders looked better, but the brunch drinks more than make up
Absolutely excellent in everyday. By far my favorite UES restaurant. Eberything on the menu is amazing. I've been going here for the last 8yrs and ordering from them and I can honestly say I have never been disappointment. Neighborhood staple.
Great experience, great service, great food
I've been here many times. The service is prompt and attentive. The wine selection is excellent and reasonable priced. Each dish is special. The sliders are standard but things like tuna tar tare or crostini with a quail egg are unique. Bok Choy is very tasty. Delicious rolls! You really cannot go wrong here.
Sojurn Staff is very good and the food tastes great and is very fresh . Would recommend for everyday dining.
Loved the ambiance. Great date place and loved the live band.
Very good food. A little dark. Great service.
OY WITH THE FRENCH TOAST 💕💕💕 one of the best bottomless brunches I have ever been too! And they are so close to my apartment I love it!
One of the best meals I’ve had. Not one thing we ate wasn’t delicious
Been to Sojourn twice now: once for dinner and once for brunch. Both experiences have been great. The food is delicious, the wait staff is kind and attentive, and the ambiance and decor is very inviting. I will certainly be returning in the future.
From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once you step inside, it's simply a lovely space. On this particular snowy evening, it didn't become more crowded until much later, but the hostess and the wait staff were all very pleasant, the menu is varied, and the food was excellent! I have to be honest, I was not expecting this, but I love to be wowed out of nowhere. Highly recommend for a date, conversation, friends' get-together, you name it.
Great food, nice wait staff, slow service
Food is always great, highly recommend
Great food. Loud and pretty cramped. Half of the food came out very late.
Brunch food took 45 minutes to arrive. We were nice and patinent but this was unacceptable for NYC standards. More of a boozy singleton brunch place rather than for family style brunch. We were sadly not their preferred type of clientele.
Very loud boozing brunch crowd. Definitely for the 20-somethings. Food was good but my ears were ringing within 5 minutes of sitting down.
Amazing food, people, and ambience. Highly recommend trying this restaurant out either for brunch or dinner on the weekend. You can't go wrong with anything you order. I highly recommend the best salad and brussel sprouts to start.
This restaurant was so loud that my table contemplated leaving mid-brunch. Except that we waited over an hour to be served eggs and so by that time we were starving and didn't want to wait somewhere else.
Too many better options on the UES to go here again. It was busy though, and the food was good. But the noise is unbearable.
The food was great, my eggs were perfectly poached on the bread, the only setback was that they seemed understaffed - I barely saw our waitress after we placed our order. Perhaps it was an off day, I would definitely give it another chance though
Great menu. Tons of tasty options on the menu. We enjoyed them all. Atmosphere is nice but the room is comically dark. Almost impossible to see two feet in front of you.
No windows. Meals incorrectly made. Nice waiters. Coffee watery. Too noisy.
The drinks were small and over priced, way over priced, but the food was delicious.
At the end of our meal, we paid partially with cash and part with credit, and the entire bill was put on the credit card. This error was rectified but seemed a bit shady. Aside from this and the over priced drinks the experience was good and the awesome food makes up for it all.
We wanted to try a new place for our valentines dinner date, and this place was amazing. Good food and the ambiance was great. The good value was amazing. We will be back soon!
The food was all spectacular. Brussel sprouts were fantastic; the gargannelli pasta was spectacular and the deboned chicken was beautifully crispy and juicy. Oh yeah and then the Tiramisu was worth the trip by itself. Also decently priced. Really cute place for a date
We have never been disappointed here! Wonderful choice of tapas. Comfortable and friendly. Would like to see the wine list expanded.
The food was great and the price was very reasonable for New York City.
The waiters were attentive and friendly.
The food was good, but service was very slow and disappointing. We were one of the first tables to arrive for the day, but did not receive our food until later after other tables (arriving after us) were served, when they had just as many people as us. Not my number one choice for brunch, but they had a good selection for lunch options.
Every dish here is amazing and prices are very fair.
Drinks and food were great. Would recommend for an after-work outing.
Liked the ambiance and the food but it was way too noisy. We went for tapas and wine and was a bit confused why there was a children’s party going on at a table next to us. Children of course will act how they’re supposed to act in a birthday party so it did not sit well with the other diners. We saw a few people actually get up and leave after they were seated because of the noise. Too many tables for such a small room so there’s literally almost no room to walk around tables. Once you’re seated you can’t get out of your chair without asking the person behind you to get up as well. Although the servers were very nice they’re a bit disorganized. Not sure if I’d go back.
Sojuorn was an amazing resturaunt. A hopping place to grab a bite to eat on the UES. The food is stellar and perfect for sharing. The hard part is picking just a few things to try. The wine list there is stellar. This place is worth the trip to 2nd Ave. Just make a reservation to save yourself a wait.
Food and drinks were great but we were seated by a duct-taped window which took away from the ambiance a bit.
Amazing food drinks and 90s nostalgia music ! Had a great time :)
Some of the best food I’ve had in a while in the city. I wouldn’t call these true tapas because they are prices the same as regular entrees but everything was absolutely delicious. Also try their expressions martinis not on the menus but they make them really well
