Great food. Loud and pretty cramped. Half of the food came out very late.
Brunch food took 45 minutes to arrive. We were nice and patinent but this was unacceptable for NYC standards. More of a boozy singleton brunch place rather than for family style brunch. We were sadly not their preferred type of clientele.
Very loud boozing brunch crowd. Definitely for the 20-somethings. Food was good but my ears were ringing within 5 minutes of sitting down.
This restaurant was so loud that my table contemplated leaving mid-brunch. Except that we waited over an hour to be served eggs and so by that time we were starving and didn't want to wait somewhere else.
Too many better options on the UES to go here again. It was busy though, and the food was good. But the noise is unbearable.
The food was great, my eggs were perfectly poached on the bread, the only setback was that they seemed understaffed - I barely saw our waitress after we placed our order. Perhaps it was an off day, I would definitely give it another chance though
Great menu. Tons of tasty options on the menu. We enjoyed them all. Atmosphere is nice but the room is comically dark. Almost impossible to see two feet in front of you.
No windows. Meals incorrectly made. Nice waiters. Coffee watery. Too noisy.
The drinks were small and over priced, way over priced, but the food was delicious.
At the end of our meal, we paid partially with cash and part with credit, and the entire bill was put on the credit card. This error was rectified but seemed a bit shady. Aside from this and the over priced drinks the experience was good and the awesome food makes up for it all.
We wanted to try a new place for our valentines dinner date, and this place was amazing. Good food and the ambiance was great. The good value was amazing. We will be back soon!
The food was all spectacular. Brussel sprouts were fantastic; the gargannelli pasta was spectacular and the deboned chicken was beautifully crispy and juicy. Oh yeah and then the Tiramisu was worth the trip by itself. Also decently priced. Really cute place for a date
We have never been disappointed here! Wonderful choice of tapas. Comfortable and friendly. Would like to see the wine list expanded.
The food was great and the price was very reasonable for New York City.
The waiters were attentive and friendly.
The food was good, but service was very slow and disappointing. We were one of the first tables to arrive for the day, but did not receive our food until later after other tables (arriving after us) were served, when they had just as many people as us. Not my number one choice for brunch, but they had a good selection for lunch options.
Every dish here is amazing and prices are very fair.
Drinks and food were great. Would recommend for an after-work outing.
Liked the ambiance and the food but it was way too noisy. We went for tapas and wine and was a bit confused why there was a children’s party going on at a table next to us. Children of course will act how they’re supposed to act in a birthday party so it did not sit well with the other diners. We saw a few people actually get up and leave after they were seated because of the noise. Too many tables for such a small room so there’s literally almost no room to walk around tables. Once you’re seated you can’t get out of your chair without asking the person behind you to get up as well. Although the servers were very nice they’re a bit disorganized. Not sure if I’d go back.
Sojuorn was an amazing resturaunt. A hopping place to grab a bite to eat on the UES. The food is stellar and perfect for sharing. The hard part is picking just a few things to try. The wine list there is stellar. This place is worth the trip to 2nd Ave. Just make a reservation to save yourself a wait.
Food and drinks were great but we were seated by a duct-taped window which took away from the ambiance a bit.
Amazing food drinks and 90s nostalgia music ! Had a great time :)
Some of the best food I’ve had in a while in the city. I wouldn’t call these true tapas because they are prices the same as regular entrees but everything was absolutely delicious. Also try their expressions martinis not on the menus but they make them really well
Loved the food again. Only disappointing dish was the Burrata
Food was delicious, but the service was poor and the ambiance of the restaurant was not great. We were a group of 4 and could not hear each other talk across the table. On top of it, we were packed into the place with no room to move around the table. The waiter and bus boy could barely the service the tables in there. It was also very dark, and they kept lowering the light to be darker and darker as we sat longer. The food was great, everything was small plates. But after experiencing the atmosphere and the service we didn’t want to stay long. Wouldn’t recommend coming on a Friday or Saturday night, perhaps it would be better on a week night.
Wonderful ambiance and service. Very cozy space. Some dishes were wonderful, others were good but not outstanding.
The service was very slow. We would have ordered dessert but it got to be too late. Food was very good. Fish tacos & Beet salad
It was too noisy, I couldn't hear myself of or my friends as a result. Everything else was amazing.
Went here for brunch last Saturday and was definitely not impressed. We were sat at 12:30 and didn't get our food until almost 2 PM. The majority of the place was large parties and we even saw some groups get up and leave because the food was taking too long. When our food arrived, it certainly wasn't hot, but warm enough to eat.
The music was also way too loud. I think they were trying to go for the fun, party-brunch scene, but they really don't have the space to do so. The music made it impossible to hear anyone in our group speak.
Second time was not the charm. Food was OK. The Brussels sprouts, which I truly enjoy, had a little too much balsamic vinegar making them quite tangy and the chicken satay was rather dry. The beet salad did was delicious. It was extremely noisy making it difficult for two people to have a normal conversation. Our server was very nice, helpful and didn't hover, however he put the charges from another table on our card creating confusion which we are still not sure has been resolved properly. We left feeling an overall disappointment.
The seating area was uncomfortable, all the tables were way too close to each other
Amazing food. Amazing experience. 100% would come again.
One of the best brunches I've ever tasted. Had the Hangover Cure and tasted the Lobster Omelette. Both were a perfect combination of ingredients, sauces, and seasoning. Can't wait to return!
Love this place. Great food. Excellent service. Good vibes.
Very good value on the fixed price lunch. This is a cosy place with an delicious, fresh, creative menu. This will be one of my 'go to' places in the Neighborhood.
They serve food on small plates for sharing, tapas style so although the prices seem reasonable per plate it does start to get pricey if you’re ordering enough for a full meal’s worth of food. The food was amazing especially the duck spring roles, beet salad, and the Kobe beef sliders and the service was great.
We met at Sojourn for a friend’s birthday. We were able to accommodate a GF and a pescatarian with communal dishes. Everything was flavorful. With a glass of wine each, five shared dishes for three of us + a shared dessert, coffee/tea ... we spent $55 each. No one was starving, but no one was stuffed. The waitress was absolutely lovely to us.
The waiter could care less about our table never was asked for a second glass of wine and the couple seated next to us their waiter gave them VIP treatment. Will only go to bar if I go again
Food, excellent. service, excellent. I'd definitely go back.
I booked for friends get together, and it was just perfect place to be. great food, great music, great service, what else can you ask?? I LOVED the food. they do serve delicious food, for reasonable price. I'd go back with friends, family whatever.
The first few times that I went to Sojourn, I loved it. I loved the idea of small savory plates and the service was excellent. My last couple of visits have been disappointing, however. What's happened? My mezcal cocktail was still wonderful, but the fish tacos were really mediocre: breaded frozen fish that was not hot, dry old tortillas. It didn't help that it appeared that the tacos had been sitting under a heated lamp. The tostadas were a bit better, but nothing to write home about. As for the service, the true test of a restaurant's service is how they treat you when you are dining alone. I don't mind it much when my server ignores my table when I have company, but I really do notice it when I am alone. Because of my past experiences, I will probably give Sojourn one more chance ...
Prix fixe menu was above my expectations, they provided the perfect amount of food and service was extremely attentive. I would recommend Sojourn for a special occasion or holiday.
2nd time visiting the restaurant and was left unsatisfied. The restaurant was beyond noisy but I understand there were many patrons and could not be controlled. The food was disappointing as well - Ordered the Salmon w/Mushrooms and Black Pasta w/Lobster. The mushroom was overpowering and the pasta extremely spicy. Thought the dessert would make up for it - ordered Tiramisu which was also disappointing. Not pleased with my experience this time and even more upsetting that the staff saw full plates at retrieving them from the table and they did not even ask if we were not satisfied.
Went for a work dinner. Everything was really good! We got multiple dishes and they were all really good, there wasn't anything we didn't like! The scallops, fried rice, duck spring rolls and baby bok choy were especially good!
