Went Friday after work. Had Branzino and my friend had the Salmon. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent without being intrusive. Will go back.
Service was great our waiter was attentive and always on hand. The atmosphere was great.
The food and service were amazing. The 4 of us were able to share many dishes… all great. Along with impeccable service it was a wonderful dining experience.
Very mediocre experience. We’ve eaten all over the city, the menu intrigued us. We had the fish tacos, croquettes, duck spring rolls, and fried rice with chorizo. All were fine, and for the price point, we weren’t terribly disappointed, but we wouldn’t recommend or return. The flavors fell flat and the service left something to be desired.
I was excited to try Sojourn based on all the reviews. As most people note, Sojourn is more about the food than the vibe. We decided to sit inside because the outdoor seating left a lot to be desired... well, same is true for the dining room. I think the bar is a fun space but the dining room feels like a dark lodge, and the floor slopes down. It's just an odd space, but they have tables very spaced out and tons of room which is nice during these times. I thought the food was good, but pretty heavy on butter/salt which didn't feel necessary. The main reason I knocked this down to 3 stars is that the wine was horrible - I had two different glasses, the poors were small and honestly it's some of the worst wine I've had in as long as I can remember. The pinot grigo tasted like a watered-down Chardonnay and the Pinot Noir could not have been more than $10 for the entire bottle. I wish they would have nicer wines...charge more! It seems like the cocktails are where it's at. I would return for the food, but honestly may just be better to get the order to go.
Great little upper east side spot. Fabulous food and a very accommodating staff. I'll be in again my next trip to NYC. Literally a walk to Central Park and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
We didn’t really enjoy the food, the highlight was a side of Brussels sprouts we ordered. The waitress was nice and attentive as she could be, but she was stretched a little thin with the amount of tables she was covering.
SoJourn is what is sometimes called a "neighborhood gem." The owner is there most of the time holding and sipping a glass of red wine. He understands that the food is mportant and it shows in the meal. The salads are perfectly dressed, the appetizers are fun and sometimes clever, like tuna tartare with a quail egg. The sliders are just what you want in a burger and cooked to order. We do not generally eat the main courses but I see may diners who look happy with them. This a place worth going to for a really nice meal.
Always a great dining experience. Food and service consistently top notch
Staff was courteous - but service seemed slow. We went for brunch table near us was excessively loud, even though there were only 2 people at the table. Portions were generous and came exactly as ordered.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a while!
In a word, the place is cool. Food was terrific. Kitchen ran very slow on one of our small plates. Server recognized the problem and gave us a free second round of drinks. I like it when servers sense what the customers are feeling.
Creative and well-executed menu, with rare steak perfectly cooked. Service professional and highly accommodating.
Favorite restaurant not just on the Upper East, but all of Manhattan! Truly is a brilliant menu with a taste and options for ALL! Seafood Pasta Meat Vegetables Cheese and appetizers are so tasty and unique! I love the croquettes especially!
Thank you for continued A+ food service ambiance etc. Look forward to the next dinner!
Amazing place! We will come back for sure. The served and the owner were so friendly!
Thank you all so much for making our engagement so special. We love everyone at Sojourn can wait for the Social to open!!
Some dishes were cold.
Was meeting a friend on a Saturday whose husband is at the UES rehab center and this is more or less across the street. Not a destination restaurant but ok for my purposes.
We had a great time and would return again. The energy was light and fun. And the food was eclectic and delicious.
Every dish we ordered here was delicious and beautifully presented. My friend and I were impressed by the combinations of foods and flavor, which seemed not only unique but very enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Ambience was pretty cozy and chill; a great little spot to forget you are in a loud city.
We were there for an early dinner, and most diners were outside, so it's not really possible to judge whether it gets noisier inside in winter. But for us, it was a relaxing, wonderful experience.
The cocktail was a wee bit tiny for the price but food. Ambitious. Value. Service excellent
The food was nothing special - a disappointment really. And the servers were not wearing masks, which I found disconcerting.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Sojourn. The food was great (we chose several plates to share) and the service was excellent. We were there early, so noise wasn't an issue; I suspect it might be louder later in the evening.
Awesome food, great drinks. Sat outside so I did not see the inside but it’s on a side street between third and second which makes it a little quieter but still great vibes.
Amazing service food was fantastic
We had an amazing experience here. Out server was top notch! Thank you
I have been here a number of times and it is my favorite restaurant on the UES. It is tapas/sharing style, and the food is all very high quality. The kobe beef sliders are divine, and I get them every time I go.
Great Ceviche Tacos and Tuna Lettuce Wrap. Best Churros I ever had!!
Great find great variety of food beautifully prepared absolutely delicious!
Everything we ordered from the menu was delicious!
Chicken Satay best I have ever had. Went there for quick dinner with friend before a meeting. Heard cocktails are also great. Will return
It was a beautiful delicious meal. Great cocktails.
Sojourn is closed!
Very loud, service could be better! drinks were empty for way too long. Seems like a neighborhood bar/restaurant everyone seemed to know each other hoping from table to table
Amazing as always!
We were a party of 5 and we waited over an hour for our food. The food was delicious but not worth the hour wait... I was very disappointed after the great reviews and will not be returning. Also- my chair was broken and was falling apart and the ambiance of the restaurant was not good. It was very run down and gross. Hate to say it- but open table failed me.
Sojourn is a good go-to
No complaints really
Ate in the tent. Food better than I remembered. Inside was pretty packed despite restrictions. Service was fine except our margaritas seemed took a long time ..both rounds. I guess the bar was super busy.
Went to restaurant for weekend brunch. Ambience was great with good food and service. We all had eggs Benedict.
