It was my friend’s birthday. They did an excellent job at making her day feel special!
Nice ambiance, easy reservation and good food; however food took way longer than it should have. We waited almost an hour for our brunch order to come out.
The brunch deal of extree + side + unlimited mimosas/bloody Mary's/Sangria was an excellent deal and the food was good! The service was ok, because the restaurant was so busy. My biggest complaint is the restaurant is small and the tables were on top of each other. My coat and bag kept getting knocked off and there were not much room to move around.
Sunday brunch 9 people. It to 90 minutes from the time we sat down to get our food, we had a toddler. They offered nothing, not a bread basket muffins something it was 11:00 am when we sat down.
Amazing, as usual. One of my favorite restaurants on the Upper East Side!
Eh. Fine for an affordable UES place. Food was certainly not bad. Nothing special. Service was polite but indifferent. (Couldn't get a coffee refill. They got the order wrong and delivered sides after we'd almost finished eating.) Loud boozy crowd in the back. I suspect the all-you-can drink brunch is why people go.
The truffle polenta with egg was very one-note in texture and flavor and made me sick soon after eating. My friend’s french toast was burnt and bacon way overdone. Coffee was decent.
Sojoun is casual but professional. A varied and intersting menu. Excellent food! Attendive staff. Friednly atmosphere. You really don't find place like this on the UES...
Great date spot or for a girls night with the tapas style dishes. Wish the lighting was slightly brighter but otherwise this is a fun spot.
Restaurant, food and service were fantastic, but the bathrooms need some attention. Easy fix. A clean and smelling nice bathroom is a sign the kitchen is clean and in working order..
Great food. Tasty, well seasoned vegetables, salmon and Kobe beef sliders.
Excellent way to ring in the new year!
Having been to Sojourn some 20 odd times over the years, I will never go again. It has gone down hill terribly. Our waiter was completely clueless as to handle a party of 6 and the Manager was rude, condescending and an insult to the restaurant.
We live in Manhattan and go out to restaurants 3 or 4 times a week & have for 10 years. This place was a great addition to the UES, but has become an insult to anyone who would dare throw their money away by gracing them with your presence.
I would go into the details of everything that went wrong, but the list would be too long. Each of them was presented to the manager, and his help was pleaded for. Every request was ignored as the evening progressed from bad to worse. Mind you this all was while we were spending over $500 for a party of six.
My advice - DON'T GO NEAR THIS PLACE !!!!!!
This is a great spot for bottomless brunch - with reasonable prices and the ability to manage large groups. I will say that the food can take awhile to come out at brunch, but if you have the drinks coming, it makes up for it.
Order took forever to come out... then they got the order wrong for my companion
My first time to Sojourn for breakfast. Lobster Benedict was outstanding however it took 40 minutes to arrive at my table and the restaurant wasn't that busy. That being said, still highly recommend.
Horrible management. Server seemed nice, but the manager was so rude that we decided not to order/spend our money here. :(
Did not enjoy the experience. We waited over 1hr and 15min for food. We had a show to see that evening and they staff assured the food was coming with no avail. The restaurant also had an odd leather smell which was gross.
Great atmosphere, diverse and interesting menu, and great wine!!
This place was recommended to me by a friend who lives on that block and is his "go to" place. I imagine he probably doesn't go there that often on Saturday night. I've passed it a million times but it always seems empty. I made a 7:45 reservation on Saturday and it was packed. This is usually a good thing and I liked that it was popular. However, it was a little noisy and they first placed us at a table for 2 that seemed like it wasn't even going to fit one, quite squeezed. We asked if we could move but they wouldn't give us a similar table to ones we saw two people sitting at. I guess they had a lot of reservations but I'm not pleased when restaurants try to get away with giving you the worst table so they can save the better ones. It's not a tasteful attribute. The food was good however, but again a particular chef. We both ordered a chicken dish which the waitress said takes 35 minutes and we said ok put our orders in and we may decide to order something first. She said the waiter would NOT do that as he won't put the dish on the fire before the appetizer. It seemed like pressure to order an appetizer and do it quickly. We obliged but honestly, that is a strike against the kitchen that they are so inflexible. I will have to question whether a trip back is worth it despite the food being good. Table selection and not being accommodating to diners are two important factors for me and they failed on both.
The food was completely amazing! My one complaint would be that they didn’t have a red and white option for each pairing. I’m not a fan of Prosecco or Cabernet Sauvignon and had no choice but to take those. I ended up just giving back one glass because I just cannot stand the taste of Cabernet.
Amazing thanksgiving dinner!! Will be going to again!
Always great food, service and ambiance.
Great Brunch Deal.
Would recommend this brunch to anyone - great atmosphere, attentive staff and friendly too!! Thank you!
Delicious shared dishes, attentive service and a cool space. Had about six dishes which were all excellent, along with a really good, fairly priced bottle of Pinot Noir. Would highly recommend.
The bottomless brunch is a fantastic deal at $33. The food is good, the service is excellent and it's a great value for your money! It's a lively crowd but that's just what we were looking for!
We had a lovely brunch for four. Was a little loud at first but got quite and we were able to linger and catch up.
Great place for brunch or dinner!
Sojourn was very busy so very high energy but service took longer but that was ok. Food was very good. We will definitely go back and will suggest to friends. Glad that we discovered a great place in our neighborhood.
Waitress took our food allergies very seriously and went above and beyond.
Amazing food and service!! Cozy and energetic. Everything was just spot on!
All was good, service good, food good. Just a little too noisy.
As always, excellent food and service!
Sojourn is the best brunch in the ues
We had a great night. The food was amazing and so the service
Delicious American-style tapped. Definitely a popular spot in saturday, so probably more suited to a night out with friends than a romantic venture. It's less crowded during weeknights, and waitstaff recommended chef's tasting course on a less busy night of the week. Every dish was delicious: had arigula salad, tuna wraps, kobe beef sliders, lamb meatballs, and suck. Cocktails were great also.
This place is awesome. We always leave happy. For NYC, prices are super reasonable. The only down side is the level of noise. Be prepared to talk over each other. But regardless, it is absolutely worth it!
Everything on the menu is good - Brussels sprouts appetizer is my favorite. I had the Duck as an entre. Also enjoy the Pacheri & Gnocchi Bolognese
Extremely loud with average to below average dishes-they claim they are a tapas place though I don’t know how you would share a roasted chicken or soup. If you want you dishes served at the same time you are warned it will take significantly longer
