Very over rated , service was too rushed , food was very average. The decor was very run down from front of house to the toilets.
Everything pretty good, nothing outstanding. Not a reason not to go
Very very very loud
Really fun and different. Can get a little loud but the food is great and really different for the Upper East Side
Loved the service, it was outstanding!
Waited over an hour for two entrees and one was simply the yogurt parfait which when received was warm and soggy. The bottomless cocktails were more juice and not worth the money. The atmosphere was very loud and the music was turned up which made everyone talk over it. Had been here before and this is the second visit and probably the last.
The drinks were terrible! My husband ordered a bloody mary that was undrinkable; it had a very strange taste. I ordered a mimosa that had absolutely no bubbles. My husband exchanged his bloody mary for a mimosa and the same was true: no bubbles. The food was nothing special; the service was spotty at best; and we will never go there again. This was the first and last time we will eatthere.
The food is surprisingly good but the noise level at dinner is intolerable.
I have recommended SOJOURN to others for many years. Everyone likes the place.
Unfortunately the noise level that night was close to deafening. I fully understand why restaurants don't use rugs. But back in the day when they did have carpeting, it absorbed a great deal of the chatter.
The food is consistently good. I have been going to this place for several years and never once had a bad dining experience. The food taste great, the service is excellent and can only highly recommend it.
It is my go to place.
Wonderful over all. One of our favorite restaurants on the Uppwr East Side. Terrific food and kind staff. Highly recommend. (Highly recommend the salmon, the gnocchi, tuna, bochoy, and the churros.). Great wine list.
Very crowded. Tables are less than 6 inches apart from each other and are very small tables. Food was ok nothing outstanding in my opinion. Best was the Hanger steak.
Good spot for brunch. The bottomless option is a great deal at $33 for an entree & side. Food was classic brunch fare. The atmosphere was fun with good music and a lot of energy. Service was great. Definitely a good spot for a group brunch!
Felt a bit rushed. Fabulous food!
We had brunch at sojourn last weekend for the second time and were disappointed in our experience. The waitress came over once every 30-45 minutes and looked like she was even purposely avoiding us. After waiting for our food for about an hour and a half we had to get up and ask her where the food was. She went back in the kitchen and our food was sitting on a shelf waiting to be served. We could tell it had been waiting because it wasn’t even that hot- it was barely lukewarm. We remembered the service being slow the last time but did not remember it being that bad. We will not be returning.
I chose the restaurant when reading many good reviews, but my experience was not good. The restaurant was very packed, no space between tables, so very loud because you hear every single word of your neighbors. We waited a long time for simple food, so did a lot other people. When food finally arrived, it was not warm, it felt like it has been sitting there for an hour. Overall, not good experience and will not go back.
Sangria is delicious, waitress gave great recommendations, skirt steak, burrata, chocolate cake or churros! Loud but fun atmosphere, very busy Saturday night!
Sorry to say I had a poor experience. Very long wait for table even with reservation. But they gave a drink while waiting which was nice.
My main issue was the server. I have special dietary restrictions and I called in advance to make sure and was assured it isn’t a problem. The waiter was extremely rude. The menu said “3 eggs any style” so I asked if this included an omelette. First he said yes, then he told me they won’t be happy in the kitchen. So I said I’ll take the eggs poached instead. He told me “you talk too much” which I found appallingly rude. Food took forever to come out and they only gave me two eggs and so I asked for a third and was met with major attitude and told I’m wrong. My guests also noticed that I only got two eggs when the menu said 3.
I did get my food but the attitude was completely uncalled for. I regularly
Food was amazing. FYI, be prepare to be speaking loudly the whole night. The noise level is pretty high here even though they have sound panels on their ceilings.
This was our first time at Sojourn (not our first time for tapas). Both the food and service were outstanding. Since there were four of us dining, our server suggested we order 8 dishes and she was spot on. Portion sizes were perfect for 4 people sharing. We had the burrata, fried calamari, brussel sprouts, pasta bolognese, skirt steak, duck, scallops and kobe sliders. The quality, preparation and presentation were all great. Then we tried the cheesecake for dessert -- WINNER! Awesome local place on the upper east side. Would definitely make a reservation. When we left, lots of people waiting without one!
We always have a great experience at Sojourn! Very good food, great atmosphere (it feels like a Downtown restaurant in the heart of the UES), and very nice staff
Get experience at Sojourn. The food and drinks were yummy. Reasonable prices.
Love sojourn great vibe great food great service - downtown vibe on the upper east side
This place never disappoints
It’s a fun restaurant with a warm atmosphere, great food, and a wonderful, welcoming host, José—I look forward to returning soon!
We had an unfortunate experience for New Year's Day brunch that I feel compelled to share. I have eaten here many times with no issue. Yesterday, we were the first table seated - at noon - and did not receive our food until 1pm. The server didn't input the order correctly and was quite unapologetic.
We got 25% off our bill, but one guest was pregnant and one had a flight to catch. Not a great experience.
Beautiful room, excellent food, especially considering how reasonable the prices are. Very friendly, welcoming staff. I will definitely come back!
Absolutely delicious and authentic!!! Priced very well and the service was impeccable. Will be returning very soon!
We came to celebrate my fiancé’s 30th birthday, and wanted a neighborhood joint close to where we were staying in the UES. Sojourn was a perfect date spot! A little crowded and very lively, talkative tables pretty close together. If you’re looking for a quiet, private meal, keep on moving. Otherwise the food and atmosphere were great. Several different sections on the menu offering starters, salads, seafoods, proteins and entrees. Food and drinks are priced fairly! We will definitely return on our next NYC visit.
Amazing ambiance. They made us feel like we were valued guests. And the food was amazing! The wine pairing only made it better. We will be back!
Not busy due to the holiday escape of many New Yorkers. Really love the food here and could actually converse with my date. The lobster grilled cheese was delicious and filling. Waiter very accommodating to minor changes in sides. Will definitely return for early weekend brunch to avoid the crowds.
Fine restaurant love to visit again
Excellent food. Good service
Delicious tapas--especially the Manchego and Chorizo Croquettes! Service was wonderful, friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back.
Waiter was inattentive despite restaurant being nearly empty. Host excellent. Main course served on a plate too small to enjoy meal.
We always such a lovely time at brunch! Our waiter Marko was very nice and did a great job!
The food was ok, standard brunch fare. I don't usually remark on the service but it was pretty subpar here, we always had to wait a while for our server to come by, at some point just asking the manager who was walking around at the time to get his attention. One of our plates was prepared incorrectly and had to be sent back, but wasn't ready again until everyone else was done eating. Probably wouldn't come back here.
We really loved this place for a rare date night and would definitely go back.
