This was the first time I and my friends dined at Sojourn. The menu is eclectic and we thoroughly enjoyed the different appetizers, entrees and desserts that we chose. Waitstaff was quite attentive and we appreciated the attention. Will return to try more dishes. Thank you.
Great neighborhood spot - we shared the duck confit spring rolls, a salad, fries, fish tacos which were amazing as well as the lettuce wrapped tuna poke. Our waiter was awesome, super friendly and amazing service! Will be back!
Wonderful, caring service for our outdoor dining experience. Staff is wonderful. Loved the soup, chicken satay, desserts, etc.. Happy hour is definitely a plus.

We heard so many good stories from friends about Sojourn, we decided to visit for our anniversary. So glad we did. What a nice restaurant. The waiter was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious! (Skirt steak was tastey!) and we were really pleased with the value. We’ll be back before our next anniversary!
We recently attempted to go to Sojourn for brunch. I say attempted because after over an hour of being ignored and not getting our food we left. The staff seemed incompetent and untrained. Our waitress avoided eye contact, was not attentive and frankly didn't demonstrate any remorse for the poor service and inability to provide our food timely.
Went for brunch, service was slow and the food was lukewarm. My drink order came long after the food. Disappointing.
Great night out. Excellent table and waiter. The beet salad was a great starter and the skirt steak was perfect.
My daughter and I went here after going to the museum. Neither of us had been here before so we decided to try it. The service was good. Our server was helpful and nice. I had the black fettucine with spicy lobster and I loved it. My daughter had the gnocchi and she said it was delicious. We shared a piece of the blueberry cheesecake and we could have eaten two pieces. I would definitely go back.
Better than average brunch and nice ambiance. Bloody Mary wasn’t very interesting, but decent. I would have preferred some more fun garnishes like some other places do, but overall worth a trip on a Sunday morning or early afternoon.

It's not just about the food, nor the ambience, nor the the ease of getting a reservation, or the friendliness of the staff. Sometimes its not even about your table's position in the dining room and your seat mates and table mates and even the table adjacent.
But it's always about how well a waiter handles a complaint and how he takes responsibility and makes it right without any fuss or bother. Our waiter Robert, at Sojourn, was such an individual. We mentioned that the muffin on our eggs benedict was way too hard and couldn't be cut with a knife and he immediately whisked it off the table and within minutes they were replaced by the slightly toasted, fluffy delicious English Muffins we had expected. Hat's off to a true asset to Sojourn who made everything right and saved the day. I will definitely return.
Went Friday after work. Had Branzino and my friend had the Salmon. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent without being intrusive. Will go back.

Very mediocre experience. We’ve eaten all over the city, the menu intrigued us. We had the fish tacos, croquettes, duck spring rolls, and fried rice with chorizo. All were fine, and for the price point, we weren’t terribly disappointed, but we wouldn’t recommend or return. The flavors fell flat and the service left something to be desired.
I was excited to try Sojourn based on all the reviews. As most people note, Sojourn is more about the food than the vibe. We decided to sit inside because the outdoor seating left a lot to be desired... well, same is true for the dining room. I think the bar is a fun space but the dining room feels like a dark lodge, and the floor slopes down. It's just an odd space, but they have tables very spaced out and tons of room which is nice during these times. I thought the food was good, but pretty heavy on butter/salt which didn't feel necessary. The main reason I knocked this down to 3 stars is that the wine was horrible - I had two different glasses, the poors were small and honestly it's some of the worst wine I've had in as long as I can remember. The pinot grigo tasted like a watered-down Chardonnay and the Pinot Noir could not have been more than $10 for the entire bottle. I wish they would have nicer wines...charge more! It seems like the cocktails are where it's at. I would return for the food, but honestly may just be better to get the order to go.
Great little upper east side spot. Fabulous food and a very accommodating staff. I'll be in again my next trip to NYC. Literally a walk to Central Park and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
We didn’t really enjoy the food, the highlight was a side of Brussels sprouts we ordered. The waitress was nice and attentive as she could be, but she was stretched a little thin with the amount of tables she was covering.
SoJourn is what is sometimes called a "neighborhood gem." The owner is there most of the time holding and sipping a glass of red wine. He understands that the food is mportant and it shows in the meal. The salads are perfectly dressed, the appetizers are fun and sometimes clever, like tuna tartare with a quail egg. The sliders are just what you want in a burger and cooked to order. We do not generally eat the main courses but I see may diners who look happy with them. This a place worth going to for a really nice meal.

Staff was courteous - but service seemed slow. We went for brunch table near us was excessively loud, even though there were only 2 people at the table. Portions were generous and came exactly as ordered.

In a word, the place is cool. Food was terrific. Kitchen ran very slow on one of our small plates. Server recognized the problem and gave us a free second round of drinks. I like it when servers sense what the customers are feeling.

Was meeting a friend on a Saturday whose husband is at the UES rehab center and this is more or less across the street. Not a destination restaurant but ok for my purposes.
We had a great time and would return again. The energy was light and fun. And the food was eclectic and delicious.
Every dish we ordered here was delicious and beautifully presented. My friend and I were impressed by the combinations of foods and flavor, which seemed not only unique but very enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Ambience was pretty cozy and chill; a great little spot to forget you are in a loud city.
We were there for an early dinner, and most diners were outside, so it's not really possible to judge whether it gets noisier inside in winter. But for us, it was a relaxing, wonderful experience.
