Soigne Restaurant & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
A lovely little spot on a quiet South Slope corner. Food was good, service was excellent and the room was incredibly cozy. The kind of neighborhood place where you can get a nice cocktail and good cooking that's increasingly endangered in the city. Definitely recommended
We went for thanksgiving dinner. Everything was amazing! The food, service, cleanliness, and price. 3 courses and many choices. The staff was extremely accommodating with food substitutions. An outstanding restaurant and experience. We will definitely be back!
This is truly a fine dining experience in Brooklyn at half the price of a Manhattan dinner. Comfortable seating and great atmosphere. Portions for appetizers are large enough to share. We shared the bone marrow appetizer which was a truly decadent experience. Two huge beef bones with slices of freshly toasted brioche and caramelized onions. ( in Craft this would be $28 here $14). We shared the duck breast as well and they split it in the kitchen for us. Succulent and juicy with a port wine reduction and grilled fresh peaches. The crispy skin was delicious but quite like eating a salt mine. There seems to be a trend lately to over salt with sea salt that I'm not fond of but other than that everything was spot on and incredibly flavorful. Next time I would ask chef to ease up on salting or I would just cut off and avoid the duck skin. The bowls they serve in are very attractive but unwieldily to cut meat in. We didn't have dessert but the options looked amazing. Truly a wonderful restaurant to have in Brooklyn.
I have been to Soigne on a number of occasions and I have never been disappointed. Excellent service, reliably tasty food, and fair prices. It's an added plus that the noise level is generally low enough that you can actually talk to your dinner companions in a normal voice... unlike so many of the trendy and noisy restaurants in the Slope.
From the moment we had the gazpacho, we knew we were in for an amazing meal. Everything was cooked I perfection. We had so many things because we wanted to try as many things as possible, and everything was spot on. We have already made another reservation to go back next week. Highly recommend this amazing establishment.
Food was mediocre, nothing to rave about. Ambiance was very nice. There was only 4 tables when we arrived and the noise level was pretty loud. As for the service.... it started off okay, until dessert. We ordered the (flourless torte) gelato special off the menu and the waitress brought us over a single scoop of gelato. When asked if this was the flourless torte gelato special she said no you asked for gelato and if I wanted that I had to specify that's what I wanted. That's fine but, considering there is no other gelato, ANYWHERE, on the menu I would say it's a fair assumption when ordering the gelato special you would get the flourless torte gelato. Instead of just saying I'm sorry I misunderstood yadda yadda yadda she wanted to continue on with this argument as to how I was wrong. I was fed up and asked for my check. She then brings me another tables check which was almost $100 more expensive and apologizes and says I'm sorry things are just going crazy here right now. Crazy? There was only two other tables. If you can't handle three tables then you need to find yourself a new career sweetheart. Long story short.... Stay away.
Our experience was an awesome one - from the impeccable service, the amazing wine flights, the delicious food, to the divine flourless chocolate torte. There were 3 of us who all ordered different meals so we could taste them all and we could not pick a favorite. We visit NYC each year for a conference and have unanimously agreed this will be a staple location for us to eat on every trip we make there.
Not only was the food excellent, but they didn't mind our hanging out long after the check was paid. Of course there was no line at the door, but even when they began cleaning up for the evening and all the other guests were leaving, they did not chase us out the door. Altogether a very pleasant evening. I can't speak about the wine as I was driving and did not indulge, but my friends seemed to really like what they ordered.
We met old friends at Soigne and had a really nice evening. Our meals ranged from good to outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the charcuterie and the artichoke appetizer and the beef tenderloin was pefect. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the dining room was comfortable. We will definitely return to Soigne.
My wife and I had a romantic post-Valentine's Day dinner at Soigne Restaurant. The restaurant was welcoming, with a very attentive and conscientious waiter who managed to keep everyone in the restaurant happy. I ordered the special $30 dinner - a very good deal - and we both enjoyed what we ate, especially the burrata salad and tasty mushroom risotto. We also found the cocktails we ordered to be distinctive and imaginative. We'll definitely return.
It was a friends get together on a Saturday night and this is the only restaurant in the neighborhood that had a table for 8 people that evening.
I've read lots of reviews prior to making reservations and browsed the menu. It looked interesting...
The place has a nice ambiance, great wine selection and good service. The food is somewhat creative but not exactly superb. Crab cakes were not tasty and the bone marrow (which was suppose to be the "star") was not as good as in other places. Main dished were a bit on a sweet side. However, we had a nice time, drank a few bottles of good wine and had a pleasant evening. Perhaps it is best to come there for wine and a cheese plate (great selection of cheeses and charcuterie)
