SOHO - Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
It's difficult to review this restaurant in its entirety because we went when there were a lot of big football games that night as well as just two days after Thanksgiving. There was only one other table of diners. I dined there on another weekend when it was filled. We started with calamari, which was very tasty. I ordered the scallops which had a delicate delicious sauce. My daughter had the pork chop which she enjoyed. We finished by sharing the chocolate bread pudding with ice cream. It was good but was more like a soft cake than the bread puddings I've had previously.
I have been to SoHo multiple times over the years, and this restaurant never disappoints. Atmosphere, food, service, and overall ambiance are always good, esp. the seafood entrees. It is a wonderful place for a simple dinner with friends or for a romantic date.
The staff delivers outstanding service and the food is great with a varied menu.
With a hearing difficulty a table in the most quiet area was requested. My guest and I were immediately taken to a table in a somewhat secluded, recessed area with just two tables and that was ideal for me. That consideration was greatly appreciated.
Service by Jesse was very attentive and not intrusive, Especially for a party of seven. Food was excellent, my Springer chicken was crispy and the meat moist, while a couple of picky diners raves about firmness and meat in the crab cakes. Compliments for the veggies from a couple of vegans in our party as well. No complaints, high praise!
I visit SoHo often and this particular Saturday night the food was just not up to par. The soup waas lukewarm, the salmon was overdone, and the sweet potato mash was just so so. I had been there on Monday and everything was perfect. I think it was just an off night.
Have been coming to Soho for many years. I feel the restaurant overall has gone downhill, as the interior is tired and becoming shabby, and the food reflects this as well.
The bread reminded me of something you would receive at a cafeteria, as it was cold and tasteless. My Ahi Tuna was oversauced and literally swimming in a pool of pre-made miso sauce, and both the rice cake and julienne vegetables that came with the tuna were soggy and tasted like they had been sitting for hours. The fried calamari was over-doused in sauce as well.
Overall, not a great experience.
SOHO should be a must on any foodie's to do list. We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing evening on the patio under the cafe lights. It had an old world charm that reminded me of evenings at cafes in Paris. Service was prompt and always there to meet our questions or needs but also let us take our own leisurely pace. The food was outstanding and hit all the right notes from the tortilla soup to the scallops to the coffee and teas. The variety of both food and beverages matches the high end quality you will receive and was still at a reasonable price. Perfect for date night or meeting friends.
Another excellent meal, and even greater experience. Our waiter Jesse (sp?) was spot on with his timing and suggestions. Jeff the manager came over to speak with us (he recognized we were fellow New Yorkers, and he could not have been nicer. Overall excellent experience. Now for the food. One person in our group had the lobster special which was excellent. I had the Tuna Tartar appetizer and the Scallops for main course, both were perfect. One person had the apple and bacon ravioli and 3 days later is still raving about the dish. All highly recommended. You won't go wrong eating here - we keep coming back
Went for the Sunday lobster boil. Everything was delicious. Wish the lobsters were bigger. The salad was teeny, don't really like the boiled new potatoes; the corn on the cob tasted great. The bread, which we had to ask for wasn't worth the calories...it took forever to get our drinks. My husband was still hungry after dinner so I ordered the chocolate bread pudding and he ordered a chopped salad. The menu looked very good. I think I'd like to go back and order off the menu. Maybe our waiter was new...
