Sofia New Orleans
Outstanding service. Phenomenal food
Food was mediocre
Stopped here for a business dinner. Food was absolutely incredible! Small dishes, easy to share. Highly recommend the meatball, garlic bread and pastas!
This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have in recent memory in New Orleans. Food was amazing as was service. I dined with two other friends and we shared everything. The server paced everything out for us beautifully. She was present and attentive of our needs with out being intrusive. The Wood Roasted Carrots were a table favorite and definitely do not skip dessert.
It was my first time. The food was wonderful. The only thing that was uncomfortable was that the tables were really really close to each other. I could my next tables conversation and I'm sure they could hear mine. Besides that had a great time.
Sofia was wonderful! The cacio e pepe gnocchi was to die for and our server recommended a great glass of wine! My friends and I loved it and we will definitely be back!
Good pizza and bolognese!
Love it but WAY TOO LOUD. Might keep me from coming back :(
Thank you for choosing to dine with us at Sofia. I wanted to reach out and let you know that we are actively taking strides to dampen the sound at Sofia. We have ordered sound panels for the upper walls and are meeting with industry experts to see what else can be done. We hope to have you back in soon.
Food and service were outstanding. The restaurant has a really cool and interesting vibe. When it gets crowded, it can be very noisy.
Be prepared for loud environment and upbeat music to accent excellent food. We have had everything from pastas to appetizers and to the meat dishes, all of which are outstanding. The kale salad, meatball and brussel sprout appetizers get the night going - all can be shared. The wait staff is friendly, perhaps because things do not move very fast.
Little pricey. The portion size is too small for pastas. Pizza tastes good but for pizza everything tasted very ok. Can improve on taste.
One of my fave new places in this city! Food, ambiance, and service were top notch!
It's a nice setting and the food and drinks were good but the noise level was through the roof. We really had a hard time with any conversation. I'd come back for the food but not sure that I can endure the noise.
Sofia was absolutely fabulous! I took my brother and his girlfriend to celebrate his graduation from Law School. The restaurant is beautiful and has a very fun and hip vibe. We decided to dine "family style" and shared several items (which is the way to go!) The Meatballs appetizer was fantastic, the broccoli salad was phenomenal, the ricotta spread with toast points was beautiful and light as well. We tried three different pastas- all delicious and al dente! The gnocchi was fantastic, the Sofia rendition of "Spaghetti and Meatballs" was wonderful and the squid ink was delicious as well. Our pizza (the white sauce pizza) with fennel sausage was excellent. And the Zeppole dessert was amazing! Also, our waiter and sommelier were fabulous- and the WINE SELECTION IS INCREDIBLE! The Italian wines and the price point of the bottles is fantastic. I LOVED THIS EXPERIENCE!
I absolutely loved my fresh food, my spritz which was recommended by our amazing waiter Kohen. I will definitely be back.
Great place for meeting friends and people watching. Lively diners and a good bar. The menu is not overly ambitious and has a good variety for nearly taste, including a couple of good vegan options.
The food and service was great but was so loud!! I just can't rate it any higher.
Innovative lively atmosphere with top quality food and cocktails. The food is amazingly delicious with a hip presentation in a beautiful atmosphere.
Beautiful ambiance and even better food! Service is top notch.
Great service, cocktails and food!
AMAZING! Wouldn’t change a single thing!!! Our server Cohen was so helpful in selecting the most delicious selections...down to the dessert! Wouldn’t visit NOLA without hitting this wonderful spot....food and atmosphere can’t be beat!
Staff was friendly and engaging
Restaurant was fun and great music
Food was delicious!!!!!!
Came to dinner for my wife’s birthday with another couple and it was fantastic. Drinks and starters were great as well as the pizza and other entrées
Would not be my first choice for a business meal. Restaurant is loud and 90% of the tables are high tops. Seats are uncomfortable. Food was very, very salty. Literally every dish we tasted had excessive salt. The decor, showcasing photos/art, of Sofia Loren was charming. The waiter was pleasant but slow and the courses did not arrive together. The excuse they give us they serve family style for sharing, however, the portions are sized for one. They tried to force the sharing by repeatedly saying its family style. Family style is Carmine’s of NYC. Not small portioned plates that come out staggered so everyone is eating at different times. The only exception to this would be their pizzas. Which of course can be shared.
One of my favorite spots in the city. Everything is sooo amazing! The staff if so friendly! The food is amazing! It’s so upbeat and such a fun spot. The gnocchi is my personal fav!
I really enjoyed my first visit to Sofia! My friend and I sat at the bar, and had a lot of fun with the bartender who was a great server and made dinner entertaining. He was also really helpful as I was trying to avoid carbs (at an Italian restaurant (I know...)), and gave me some great suggestions for food. There are indeed lo-carb options in the entrees, so it all worked out. The food was very good. It was quiet when we got there at 6:30 but got pretty busy by the time we left - and this was a Wednesday night. So, the word is out.
Tulane graduation dinner.
Celebrated my med school graduation here. Great dinner and night!
My first time at Sophia. Was impressed with the spaciousness of the place that was not initially apparent from the entry.
The food and service was excellent and the restaurant was very comfortable. I had the pizza and it was great. Would’ve liked to see maybe a few more pasta selections, but overall I will definitely be back. Nice, casual Italian with excellent food.
Excellent new restaurant in the Warehouse District for Italian food! We all got pasta dishes and enjoyed the fresh pasta and seafood. Our only complaint would be about the noise level. It was easily one of the noisiest restaurants I have ever been too - mostly due to the acoustics of the restaurant more than the patrons actually being loud.
Everything was great
Start to finish perfect
It would be much easier to write about the things I DISLIKE about Sofia since there is really nothing that comes to mind! I have been to Sofia several times since its opening at the beginning of the year and each time I am entranced; from the delicious food, to the wonderful and engaging staff, and by the fun and inviting atmosphere. Normally, in reviews, people will often give dish recommendations I will sincerely say that I recommend everything, the pasta is fresh and flavorful, the pizza is an experience in itself, and even a simple steak or cut of chicken is taken to new heights with Chef Talia and her team’s guidance. Sofia is sure to leave a lasting impression and a full belly for any restaurant goer looking to have a delightfully complete dining experience in New Orleans.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal....the food was absolutely delicious! The service left a lot to be desired. The waiter got our order wrong, and the pizza we ordered arrived much later than the other entrees. Kitchen needs to learn how to coordinate so all entrees arrive at the same time.
Nice atmosphere. Tables were a bit tight as we kept getting bumped by servers and nearby guests. We were also bumping them. Food was very good. We had two vegans w/ us and they made a wonderful vegan pizza, really good! Service was great!
90s hip hop was the perfect background music as it really matches the ambiance perfectly!
This was our first trip but we will definitely be back. We had the kale salad which was wonderful, the meatballs which were very good, the squid ink pasta which was very good and the osso bucco which was more4 like a pork shank but it did have the marrow bone and was falling off the bone.
One of the best experiences we’ve had in NOLA. A MUST! Hope was the kindest and accommodated our large party late night. Will be back any time we are in town.
Don't ask for a menu! Just talk to the staff and ask them what's good on that day, you can't go wrong. Everything here is superb. My personal favorites on the Antipasta are the Meatballs, Gulf Squid and Kale. The Pastas are the Risotto and Malfaldine. The Secondi my mouth waters thinking about the Osso Buco and the Pollo al Limone. Again, everything was superb! Oh, and don't forget the Garlic Bread it’s made in house. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu.
Outstanding service, food and presentation. My new favorite NOLA restaurant.
Great food and the staff are amazing and really care about their customers experience.
