Sofia New Orleans
Energetic and fun. First class food and service.
Our waiter, Cohen, was amazing. He was very thorough in his knowledge of the food and drinks. Cohen's suggestions were also great. We ordered an appetizer that was newer and it was not what we expected and he comped i. Overall awesome atmosphere and great vibes. Can't wait to try a new dish next time.
High top and bar seating not conducive to conversation and a bit uncomfortable. A bit overpriced. Great cocktails. And different and tasty food
There’s a conceptual problem
Even though I struggle with the American concept of Italian food where more ingredients is good, but in reality listen to Nona or even Batali where just a couple of things is good
Less is more
But here it just lacks that Italian comfort thing
Upbeat and hip environment. Classy, upscale yet not pretentious. Fantastic food and great service.
Spritzer cocktails a creative delight. Meatballs and broccoli salad were divine. Didn’t have time to eat anything else, will return if possible. Excellent.
Delicious, modern Italian, well-presented by knowledgeable waitstaff. Very fresh and quality ingredients. Can’t wait to go back!
Fantastic Ambiance and decor. Sophia Loren Art is prevalent and colorful. Fun space that’s comfy. Cacio y Pepe was al dente, perfect.
Stumbled on Sofia looking for a quick lunch. Blue crab risotto, the chunks of crab were substantial and the consistency of dish delicate. Lighter fare for what I think of as Italian, which was a pleasant surprise.
Tomato Salad OMG. Get it. Red Snapper was delic, have to eat seafood while visiting New Orleans. Great service, healthy options, great ambiance and friendly service.
This was my first time at Sofia and it definitely won't be my last! I came here with a friend to take advantage of the restaurant week menu. I was not disappointed. Let's start with my new favorite drink called Onda Rossa. It's two kids of rum with passionfruit and strawberry. Very light and refreshing. I got the meatballs and garlic bread as my appetizer, the margherita pizza as my main and the zeppole for dessert. The meatballs were so good that I got an order to go for the next day. The only disappointment was that the garlic bread wasn't part of the regular menu item! Service was fantastic. Can't wait to get back!
Excellent food and helpful engaged servers made for a memorable meal. A great value. Love the decor - especially the pizza oven and chandelier.
Went to Sofia for a girls night. We got a whole lot of food and shared everything. The garlic bread is unbelievable. Must have to dip in the meatball marinara. The margherita pizza was perfect. The service was fantastic as well. It is pretty loud, so I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic evening but it's great for a fun night out with friends.
Great find - different - ambiance unique. Great food , wine list, and service.
This was one of the best restaurants that we ate at in NOLA. The place is cool, modern and its theme, apparent by the many photos hanging in the restaurant, is Sophia Loren. Its a beautiful place. The staff is sooo friendly. But most important of all is the food. Outstanding!!! My husband and I had the salad, delicious with blue cheese, slices of green apple, different greens with a honey vinaigrette. For the entree, Dom had the Gulf shrimp with homemade foccacio. The foccacio was so melt in your mouth delicious. The shrimp (about 10 large) was served in a garlic seasoned olive oil with red chili pepper flakes. My dinner was Cacio de Pepe. It was spaghetti seasoned with grated cheese and lots of black ground pepper. It was as good as what we had in Italy. The desserts were exceptional.
All of the food brought out was not hot. When the appetizer came out it was warm at best. The entrées were just warm.
We went at 5 pm and had the best time. It got very busy by the time we left at 7. We were not in any hurry and ordered many different things on the wine and food menu. Meatballs and the pizzas my favorite. The steak is also great.
Excellent experience all the way around.
Best Pizza and Italian Wine list in Town - at least so far. Great service and healthy options. Ambiance dedicated to Sophia Loren is incredible. Get the meatballs, kale salad, and the Florentine steak.
Great intimate meal, although not too formal. Service was great. Had the tomato salad which was gorgeous (wish we took a photo), burrata pizza with broccolini, and a fruit dessert along with killer a wine pairing + cocktails. Food exceptional and vibe swanky.
Food overall was good. Drinks were amazing. Pizza needs to be a little less greasy. The bread with the shrimp was some of the best ever.
Major pet peeve..... it was 3 people. We each had 2 drinks. We got the same things. There was 8 drinks on the bill, 2 of which no one had ordered anything remotely like it. Mistake or intentional? Im going to say mistake this time. People check your bill!
From start to finish we had an exceptional experience. Food and service was spot on.
Great service !
Quick visit for lunch. Had a house made lime and thyme spritz followed by the healthiest and most gorgeous kale and beet salad I’ve ever eaten. Followed up with the pollo (chicken) and a fresh berry and curd dessert which both were to die for. Will definitely return.
Saturday Night and the place was rocking.
We couldn’t get a ressie online but the hostess accommodated us at the chef’s table which doubles as the pizza counter. It was such a delight to watch the action of the kitchen while jamming out to the old school jams they played in Sofia. Oh yea the food, EPIC!
Very good Italian menu with a modern feel. The pizza was delicious and the Cacio e Pepe was very tasty too... Great spot for a date.
Constantly striving to be the best and to please every customer, my new favorite in town!
We had a great experience at Sophia Nola, the food and service were great! The Perron made it even more fun.
We loved it and can’t wait to return!!
The ambiance is modern, clean and sparkling. The food is freshly prepared with the perfect blend of flavors. Service was top notch, friendly and professional. Location was great as we walked from The World War II Museum and then afterwards to the French Quarter. Great restaurant!
Our waitress, Brittney, was attentive and very helpful with suggestions. Just the right amount Of being attentive but not being rushed.
The food was creative, beautifully plated, and delicious. We enjoyed the baked ricotta, shared the delicious charred veggies, and each got separate entres. The grilled shrimp were perfect with the hot bread supplied to sop up the delicious garlic butter. The kale salad had No bitterness at all and chopped for easy eating. The risotto was perfect. And the grand finale was a delicious creamy delight which we all shared. Oh, and I cannot forget that we began with a variety of yummy, refreshing spritzes!
Will definitely return !
Came in for an early Sunday reservation. Everything was stellar.
Great date night spot, outstanding service.
We've been to New Orleans at least 20 times and almost every time, we happen upon a new "food find". This time it was Sofia. Casual, cook vibe. Neat but not overwhelming decor. Great cocktails, and even better food. Everything we had (olives, tomato salad with prosciutto, pizza bread, pizza, pasta) was delicious, and the prices were good too. Highly recommend this place. I know we will be back! The only minor issue was the slightly unctious hostess. Just dial it back a bit and you'll be good!
Sofia was really good. Both the food and the staff were top notch. We will be back.
One of the best pizzas I've ever tasted - I had the Ruccola - the blue cheese countered the fig jam and the arugula kicked it up a notch. The kale salad is not what you expect - extra-thin-sliced beets and the kale chopped to microscale offering greater surface area for my tastebuds. Amazing restaurant!
While the food was tasty, bar and food service was slow for a restaurant at half capacity. Two dishes were sent back due to temperature issues. Fortunately, the manager nicely comped those dishes. Highly recommend the lamb entree. Best dish on their menu. Second the carb risotto. Avoid the octopus. Very cold, small thinly sliced octopus that was to a hot dish, but was more of a ceviche due to cold pieces of octopus. Will try again, after the restaurant matures, if it makes it that long.
Food was above and beyond the noise was too!
We came in just to get drinks before the concert, and ended up eating at the bar for a full meal and then some. Bartender, she was amazing. The vibe was so cool, so much energy and so many smiles everywhere. And now to the food......I’m a vegetarian - and they gave me a kale salad which was the best I’ve had I think maybe in my life. They did a veggie risotto for me and a tomato salad that was to die for. To top it off a pizza margarita - insanely delicious especially with that chili oil they have!
We split octopus, amatriciana, and snapper and a bottle of wine. All were good. The servings came out of proper order though. The server also "corrected" wife on Italian pronunciation though the server was wrong. It wasn't a big deal and she wasn't rude about it. Just an observation. The space is very lively and loud.
