We were well taken care of. There was a crying child by my groups table and the manager did not hesitate to move us to a more quite location and they covered our dessert. This restaurant is very nice and I will return in the future.
Our server "Sophia" is the absolute best! Love her! The food and service is always spot on.
I loved the baked oysters and cocktails. This was my favorite restaurant, the food this time was not as good or consistent as it used to be. Dessert of crème brûlée was delicious. I hope they work harder with entrees.
Very accommodating wait staff. The kids didn't like certain items and they were replaced without question.
Although our server was new, she was very pleasant and attentive. The salads were especially good and the servings were generous and tasty. It was Fathers' Day and the place was crowded with several large, energetic family groups. The noise level was rather high but the food and service was worth it. We will definitely return.
One of my hometown favorites, we had my sister's shower here a few years ago. I was so impressed how smoothly it went. I moved away several years ago, but have not forgotten how great the service was, and the food. While back in town we went for Father's day and had wonderful service. Our waiter was Nicholas, he was polite and attentive. The menu has changed slightly, a few sides switched around, but we felt it's become even better. Evening was great as expected. Thanks so much!
The food was excellent but a little bit "pricey." The noise level was ridiculously loud. Would make me think about returning.
Sorry, we had a party of 8 for a birthday celebration.
The birthday celebrant ordered the scallops and only
received 4 scallops and a side dish for $32 as their birthday
meal. We were so disappointed and embarrassed.
Food was outstanding, took my wife for a special birthday dinner and she loved it. Weekday three course dinner special worth every penny. Thank you
I took my husband to sofia's for his 50th Birthday, I wasrather disappointed when we were seated for a table of 2 that we were seated in a section with at least 2 groups of parties of 6 ormore. It was too loud. I did request our seats to be changed and they did to a booth, the noise level only decreased when the other parties left. Waitress was awesome, food so, so.
A little disappointed on this visit. I go to this restaurant an average of once a month. Usually with a party of 6. Most of the time everything is great. On this particular visit we had to wait a very very long time to get our entrees. Our server said it was because they had a large party ahead of us. That should not make a difference if the kitchen staff is organized and running smoothly. Also I don't understand why they do not employ food runners. That's the only big complaint I have about this restaurant. When you are there with a party of 6 it takes forever for the server to keep running back and forth to the kitchen to serve everyone. By the time the 6th person is served some of the meals have cooled down. So my suggestion either hire food runners or let your servers use trays. Everyone at a table should always be served at once.
My family was there for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and my son Graduating from 8th grade. My wife and son had the filet and I had the Beef Wellington and they were amazing. Our server was Christian and he was awesome. I plan on requesting him from now on. I highly recommend Sofia Italian Steakhouse.
After a very long, intense day-long seminar, we headed to Sofia for dinner with our instructor. The setting, food and ambiance were perfect for a business meal. I had asked for a quiet spot and we were put in a small room off the main dining room. That was good, but there was another group in the room that was a bit noisy; thankfully they left shortly after we arrived. The food was very good and the menu had great variety. I have cut back substantially on meat and dairy so I thoroughly enjoyed the baby arugula salad and the harvest (sweet potato) ravioli. The portions were more than adequate. These were not true vegan dishes, but I expect if I had asked that they would have been able to accommodate that request. Since it was a weeknight, they had a special menu for $31 that included the salad, entree and dessert. I indulged in the cannoli for the dessert. They served two of the awesome pastries stacked artfully on the plate which were crisp and filled with the perfectly smooth ricotta cream. Others in our group had either steaks or fish specialties. These all looked great on the plates, were nicely proportioned and no one had a word of complaint. All plates were completely devoured. The service was perfect - attentive but not hovering. Highly recommended.
Sofia's is a place that I have passed by several times but never thought to go in mainly because of its location. When I heard from a friend that it was a good steakhouse, I decided to try it for myself. I was disappointed in myself that I hadn't been there to eat sooner. The food was amazing, the service timely and the ambiance welcoming. Sofia's is truly a gem in the heart of West Roxbury. I can't wait to go back!!
The food was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS and lovely presentation, and the service DELIGHTFUL!!! Had the lobster and shrimp with homemade pasta, and filet and salad. Eat out a lot and this was really fabulous! Than ou for being really good at what you do!!! I am bringing my entire family back!
