Fantastic food and service! The staff is so welcoming and quick, extremely friendly! Every meal we have had there has been delicious.
Great food and service , music was a little loud to have conversation over but great selection.
Went there on a Sunday. Made reservations for 2 but for there late and they sat us maybe 5 minutes after. The grits were really good. The steak and eggs, the steak was a little tough. Vibes were excellent. Definitely recommend
The red velvet waffles were delicious, drinks good. The wings were tasty as well. However , we also got steak and eggs and the quality of the steak was horrible. It was chewy and lacked flavor. The shrimp appetizer was not fresh at all.Considering this is a soul food place that’s absolutely not cheap, I expected sooo much more. The waitress was good and kind but I was barely able to hear her because of how loud the music was. We asked if they could turn the music down a bit because we were basically screaming at her to get our order and at each other in order to be heard.
The greater had a short memory. We arrived early and asked if we could be seated being that it wasn’t crowded. He took our information and said wait., then he came back and asked for our information again just to say your early... have a seat at the bar. Then when it was time for us to be seated he says you don’t have a reservation right... excuse me... we gave you our name and reservation twice already.
Our waitress was annoying as hell. I felt like I was in BBQ’s, how they stand to the side of you and watch you to see if your done. The waitress kept doing that. She actually reached crossed the table a few times to remove things when we weren’t done... no excuse me, nothing. The bus boy came a grabbed my husband’s plate, then said your done... my husband said no I’m not, you don’t think you should have asked me before touching my plate.
It was just as cold inside as it was outside. I mentioned it to the bartenders and they said they know... okay well I guess we’re all just going to be cold. They finally turned on the heat after being there for an hour. It wasn’t a good experience especially being a celebration dinner.
It was crowded so unfortunately I had to sit in the back even after making reservations. Wouldn’t have been too bad but it was cold back there. Couldn’t even take off my jacket it was hard to get comfortable
My wife and I had a great time at SOCO we will be returning!! The food, service , drinks and overall ambience was excellent.
Ok place. Food was ok but we all didn't enjoy our drinks.
Had a great time and the food was great.
Good food, staff was very friendly. Would recommend.
Service was amazing
I was so excited to try the restaurant, go there sat at the bar because we were too early so we had a couple drinks which were pretty good. Time to sit and order our food, first there don’t make substitutions which wasn’t a deal breaker, so ordered and the food came out and it as COLD!!! I had the herb marinated steak with roasted potatoes and greens, first off the potatoes was not roasted, they were boiled the green were tasty but cold, I asked for for hot food, I guess they took it back and placed it in a microwave because the meat came back and I was unable to cut it, because I first asked for the meat to be medium rare. Overall the food was terrible, my friend had the salmon with mash potatoes and it was also cold. The only thing I was impressed with were the drinks, the waitress was pretty good, but I was not impressed with the food, so I will not be going back.
I was underwhelmed by the location. I did like the music. Tables were too close and left no space for private conversation. Table was too small for food dishes. Wings were too hot, greens were under seasoned. Red beans was bland. Mussels were excellent ribs were ok, but a little chewy.
Love the food and vibe, great spot fir a quick bite!
I would and have already recommended Soco, they had enough staff, food was delish and we had a great time!
My sister's & I had a great time at Soco...The food was good & the waitress, I can't remember her name was, but she is awesome. I had the salmon burger & it was delicious...We will for sure be back. The first time I went, I had the salmon which was um um good.
Food finally came out after over an hour and both times weren’t cooked correctly. We asked for our meat (burger and steak) to be cooked medium and both times they came out well done. The first time we asked the server to have them do it again but the second time we were just like at this point let’s just eat it and go. To the manager and the servers credit they did their best to make things right but I wouldn’t come back. It’s bad enough it took forever but then the kitchen also doesn’t know how to cook meat properly? Ehhhh I’ll pass.
It was a bit disappointing not the usual service that I’m use to. Came early and had to wait outside because the systems were down. We were left to stand in the cold for 40 minutes pass the opening time. The food was okay the chicken was still pink. Plus I didn’t get me drink which me and my partner ordered a sangria pitcher and that never came out even half way through our meal. We ended up canceling the drink order. It was just a hectic start and it showed.
I went to Soco to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and it was a complete disaster. For starters, I noted our visit as a birthday celebration in my Open Table reservation and also mentioned it to our waitress- there was no acknowledgement whatsoever. Our night further progressed downhill as follows:
1- The birthday girl WANTED the Carolina Shrimp Rolls. We are advised (quite aggressively I must say) that they are no longer served. Why the heck are they still on the menu then????
2- We were then told that any dishes with chicken sausage have been replaced with pork sausage. Not turkey sausage but pork??? Really????
3- Both of my girlfriend’s pork chops were cold to the touch. When we told our waitress, the remedy was to just nuke them in the microwave. We asked for the manager who said he could replace them but there would be a long wait. The birthday girl opted to just take them home - she has a strict rule about not sending food back to the kitchen.
4- No desserts served!
5- Our waitress wasn’t friendly or knowledgeable about the menu; she didn’t even know they had a “kids meal” of chicken wings and fries.
Not a good experience and we won’t be back!
Their online menu differs significantly from their menu at the location. When we booked the reservation, we did so based on the fact that online there was a bottomless brunch option. However, at the restaurant they said “their had been a recent change” and they no longer were doing this; also said that people call ahead usually to check (even though we searched online and booked online via opentable...don’t see why we would need to call the establishment). We were there for my best friends birthday and we asked to speak to the manager and she said there wasn’t anything she could do about it...The only solution she offered was that she’d “talk to the social media person about the website.”
My reservation was for 10:30PM. We were seated early at 10:20PM which sounds amazing, however the waiter didn't take our order until over 30 minutes later. He seemed very overwhelmed. It was my girlfriend's first time going to this restaurant after I hyped it up for so long. Not a good first impression, especially on Valentine's Day.
Sever was pretty unengaged. Bus staff filled in the gaps, but server needs to do better.
Too overpriced for the quality of the food + drinks. The food initially came out cold.
This place was amazing. I went with my lady and the service was beyond our expectations. We never had to ask for a refill, and when I was having trouble with my pork chop(I was being fancy and didn’t want my hands dirty) my waiter brought me a knife. I didn’t even have to ask. Excellent food. Love supporting black owned businesses !!
Didn’t like the liquid eggs for my omelette
The food was delish, I had the lobster/shrimp and grits. Ordered the corn bread but got some with jalepenos which were a bit too spicy for me. They corrected with no problem though and the non spicy ones were yummy!! The tables were a bit tight and the music a bit loud (at least to my over 40 ears, lol), overall a really cool vibe with good food and great service.
My wife and I went to Soco for brunch. I ordered the organic buttermilk chicken and red velvet waffles, and she ordered the sausage and grits. We shared a carafe of Mimosa . The chicken and waffle was good, but was on the cold side. My wife really loved the sausage and grits. I’m not a grits person, but after trying a couple spoonfuls, I would order it on another occasion. The spicy sausage really made the dish. The service was outstanding thanks to Terry who attended to us. If not for my lukewarm order, I would have given my experience a perfect score. Terry promised that I would not have to worry about a cold dish again, and I believe her. I will most definitely go back. By the way, the DJ was fantastic.
Nice place for a quick bite... staff was friendly and attentive... only complaint is it was extremely hot in there which made the time spent there uncomfortable... I couldn’t wait to leave to get some air..
Great service and great music! The Mac and cheese was my personal favorite.
Very good ambiance and food , I will be a returning customer
Food, drinks, and service were all great! I went for the brunch and really enjoyed my time there. Can't wait to try their dinner.
This is my 5th time going and never a bad nor dull moment.. love this place. I recommend this place to many of my friends and family..
Soco was great! Came with a couple friends for brunch. Had chicken and red velvet waffles and the Rum Punch carafe and they both SLAPPED, so we’ll definitely return. And reserving a table beforehand is advised and was pretty lit as it got busy fast.
Birthday ... food was amazing.
Food is good, service could be much better.
We had a great time. The waiter was professional. And the food was delicious.
The food was great and customer service was great!
I always enjoy going to Soco for lunch or brunch. One of my favorite spots to bring people to that I know would enjoy the food.
Delicious food. Outstanding service! I will definitely return and tell all about the experience.
