The food was fabulous. Everything was well seasoned and tasted fresh and hot. This was the second time here. The last time was 4 years ago and the food taste just as good
Food was excellent! Staff pleasant and attentive.
something happen. Soco was my favorite place. The appetizers was good. The main dish ok. My husband had salmon he said it was ok. Me I had the baked bbq chicken, with mash potatoes and green beans. The chicken made me sick. At first I wasn't sure, then my husband had a bite and he got sick also. Old chicken smothered with bbq sauce. Drinks wonderful
food was great. loved the music. there was adequate space for everyone in my party.
I've been wanting to come back for a while and the place did not disappoint. I will not be absent long again. AND it was a first time for some of my friends and they LOVED IT!!!
it's a little tight but that's typical of a bk restaurant. took my gf here and she really loved it! the drinks were great, we each had a mardi gras. Also the crowd is twenty somethings and up for the most part, which is nice if you're looking for a date night spot.
THIS FOOD WAS HORRIBLE EXCEPT THE GUMBO. THE SERVICE WAS AWFUL. I ASKED FOR MANAGER AND THE GM SAID HE WAS TOLD BY OWNER THIS IS THE RULES. HE BASICALLY DIDN'T TRY TO HELP US. HE SAID OWNER WAS LIKE THE DAD. HIS RULES. IT WAS REALLY COLD. HE SAID THE OWNER DIDN'T ALLOW THEM TO CHANGE TEMP. IT WAS UNDER LOCK AND KEY. I WOULD NEVER RETURN. OUR TOTAL BILL WAS $181.00 AND WE SENT BACK ONE MEAL ONLY ATE A WHOLE PLATE AND THE REST OF US JUST TOLD THEM TO TAKE IT. THEY HAVE 6 OZ GLASSES FOR DRINKS OF TEA AND SODA WITH NO REFILS FOR $5 AND FULL OF ICE. I HATE THIS PLACE.
The ambiance and music was the best part. The lights were perfectly dim. The music was bomb! The staff was professional and helpful. The food was decent. The drinks were great, the macaroni was delicious. The waffle was really good, not too sweet. You will definitely have some leftovers.
The food was delicious. it came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. Our waitress was Diamond and she was great! Very attentive and friendly. She fulfilled our every need. The manger and noise level in terms of music is what kept me from giving Soco five stars. Although the music was good, the volume of the music was obnoxious. I read previous reviews on Yelp about how the music is so loud that you are practically yelling at someone sitting across from you. If you are hard of hearing or loud music bothers you, you may not enjoy your experience. My sister asked the music to be turned down twice. The first time she asked to speak to the manager who never came over to address her concern but turned down the music. Eventually the music was turned back up. The second time she had to seek out the manager herself to get the music turned back down. As I said before, if you don't mind loud music and people in your party are okay with it go. The food is delicious, and you will enjoy yourself with the good music. However, if anyone in your party is sensitive to loud music, think twice, because it can become a fiasco.
I really enjoyed Dining here for my birthday . A laid back vibe. Great music and really good food.
Origanally had to move seats because the music made it impossible to hear, but their patio was warm and comfortable. Their Creole Pasta is AMAZING. Service was on point too. Would for sure go back.
The staff was very friendly, they play good music and the strawberry lemonade(no alcohol) was (overpriced @ $6) AMAZING, and tasted so fresh, i haven’t had a better strawberry lemonade anywhere else!
Service was impeccable. I will definitely be back here. Everyone who worked here was professional and sweet. Food was really good and the mimosas were great!
The 15 minute wait wasn’t too bad although I was surprised because I made a reservation. Good news-the food was good. Bad-The waitress, Crystal got my drink completely wrong. A virgin pina colada does not resemble a fruit drink. After I told her, the manager (I am guessing) came over to ask who ordered it. When I told him I did, he made light of it. I proceeded to ask him what happened to the cherry and pineapple that accompanies the drink. As he got up from sitting next to me he said, “I’ll bring you a glass of cherries. You should come work for me.” WHAT?!?!?! I know he thought this was cute, but I didn’t appreciate his unprofessional comment. When the drink came, it had quite a bit of ice cubes in it. (Made w/ice-yes..not cubes.) After a while the waitress came back with a lame apology. Soco, you and your waitress should know what a virgin pina coloda looks like and entails. This is the 2nd time for me at your establishment. The first time with other ppl was also unprofessional. Marc Daly please do better. I want to support Black-owned businesses.
When we arrived for our 8pm reservation , there was no wait, we were seated immediately. The music was a little too loud, almost had to yell to speak to each other at the table. The waitress was very attentive and we were able to start our order right away. We ordered the ribs for an appetizer, which was good, but the portion was small (only 4 pieces for a party of 6), so we ended up having to get 2 orders. The entrees were very good with sizable portions, although the prices are on the expensive side . Everyone had the mac and cheese, which was good, but it was a little to creamy and not enough cheese for my taste. (Being from down south I need a lot of cheese in my mac and cheese). Overall the experience was good, but we did have to wait too long for desert.
The service was excellent. The hostess and both our waiters were so kind and patient. The food was amazing. I had the red velvet waffles and they did not disappoint. The chicken was ok. I’ve had better but they were still good and I’d definitely go back. The music was nice and I loved the ambiance.
Has become one of my favorite spots to dine with friends and family. Love love the food.
Good, waiter and atmosphere wonderful. Mac and cheese is a must have.
Food and drinks were good! I picked the prefect time and day to go.
Nice place but the wait to be seated even with a reservation and for the food is very long and they need a lil more choices for food but overall the food was great.
Although we had to wait a bit long for the food, it was worth it. Food was amazing. My party and I can’t wait to go back
I went to Soco this past Saturday to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my wife. We got married down in New Orleans and wanted to connect to that special day through the food Soco served.
When we got seated that is when things took a turn for the worse. We sat for over an hour and a half and not one person came to us. We watched as other who came in after us were served and gotten their food before we did. We tried getting a servers attention and nothing. When we were about to leave my wife started staring at a waitress helping the table next to us and she came over to ask us if anyone is helping us. We politely said no and thank you for coming over. 15 mins later we ordered our food. About 45 mins pass, and i am about to go speak to the manager but the table next to me went first. The waitress then tells us their machine went down in the kitchen and they never received our order. At this point i am really upset, respectfully i ask when is the food going to come out. We were assured it would be out in 10 mins. 10 mins pass and the general manager comes over about the broken machine. When i told him we have been here since 7:30 and it is now 9:50 that this is redic, especially since this is our anniversary. Not one person came over to us for over an hour. He apologized and went to see what he can do. While i appreciate the general managers willing to help at this point, i took it more as being handled. He never came back but instead sent the waitress over to buy us a round. At that point we just got up and left. On my way out the general manager apologized, but nothing they did that day was correct.
While the food looked delicious, I do not recommend this place. Thank you for making my anniversary memorable.
After being in NYC for a week, we finally found impeccable service. Being from the Deep South, hospitality is very valuable. The waitress, food runners, and all were very attentive, knowledgable, and nice! Our waitress was very good, she was well spoken, knowledgable of the menu, and sweet! I cannot remember her name, but she was a pretty young lady, smiles a lot, has a beautiful gap in her teeth, she wore a gorgeous long scarf around on her head.
As an appetizer I had the red beans and rice and a side of the Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread w/ sweet butter. For dinner I had the lobster, shrimp, and white cheese grits-- which were absolutely amazing! My friend had the Salmon dish with the sweet potatoes and green beans, she liked her food, but she did mention that both the sweet potatoes and green beans could've used a little salt & pepper. I really appreciated this visit at Soco, true Southern Cuisine. I would definitely visit again!
Great food although we ordered the chicken sandwich, chicken and waffles and the catfish all of them tasted them same.
The macaroni and cheese was amazing!
The food here never dissappoints. The drinks were amazing and the service was wonderful as usual. I'm SO glad that they did away with their old "No hats" policy that included women as well... that was a huge deterrent for me returning for a very long time.
Simply amazing experience and the drink special was super yummy
Everything was great until we were asked to move to the bar so that they can seat someone at our table. Word to the wise, once you eat you lose your seat
Great service with excellent food..what else can you ask for.
Great place to chill and eat... Food was great, appetizers are way too overpriced, staff was attentive and friendly
Food is always delicious, service is always superb.
The food was different than the last time I visited. For some reason, the buttermilk chicken and waffles are now spicy? The waffle itself no longer tastes like it used to either. I've ordered this dish twice before.
I won't be coming back since the food has changed.
Soco is a really nice restaurant. The ambiance, food and drinks was good but the best thing about my dining experience was the serving staff, they were the best ever. My server was very attentive, provided great recommendations and made sure we received our food in a timely matter. I was very impressed that the other servers also made sure that our used napkins were removed from our table, and our water glass was always filled. This is very rare. I had a great dining experience.
It was my first time there from Toronto! I had a great experience. The food and music were great! The staff service was impeccable!
My favorite is the blackened salmon however anything I have tried has always been good. I would def recommenced Soco food and staff are amazing and very attentive
Everything we had was delicious. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Every time our glasses were low or we spoiled a napkin, the staff came right away to remove it without us asking. It was a great dining experience.
Was a really good restaurant food was amazing and the surroundings was great I recommend
Chicken and Waffles was not it what I expected, very bland.
The vegetable lasagna and jalapeno corn bread was quite tasty. Those dining with me enjoyed their meals as well. It took about 35-40 minutes to get our food, but we were very content with the taste.
Everything was great from the food to music to the service. I'll definitely be back.
