The red velvet waffles and chicken was amazing. My overall experience was outstanding!
The service is really slow. The food is ok.
Everything is amazing about soco, would recomend this place to everyone.
Overpriced fake soul food. The service is ok, but food is not worth the money
Love the while environment. Excellent
Food and services. Loved it..
Great ambiance food was really good. Food took a long time to arrive to the table. Wine and drinks also took a while to arrive to
The food is really good and so is the atmosphere. Very friendly staff.
This was my first time and was referred to this Restaurant by my daughter. It was our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. We were very impressed with the service we received. Everyone was very cordial. Our main Waitress was above and beyond and displayed Exceptional Services. We left very happy and sure enjoy our meal.
Love Soco! One of a kind. Drinks are ALWAYS ON POINT. And the taste of the food is OUTSTANDING!!! All time favorite
I was seated with my elderly father, husband and 2 young children at the front where the air from outside kept hitting us every time the door opened. I asked to be moved because of my children, my father and the fact that I am pregnant. They did not move me.
I was so upset and cold that I could not eat and asked my food to be boxed up so I could just leave. Doubt I will be back.
Excellent food and service , my first visit , will definitely return again . The music was Awesome , it was LOUD , but overall great place to enjoy excellent food .
The food at Soco was good, the portion sizes definitely didn't match the prices.
I believe food was ridiculously overpriced!
Polenta is very cheap so my plate at least should've been full with that, if nothing else.
I understand that seafood is pricey but I think you guys overdo it🤷🏾♀️
Also, the music is wayyyyy too loud.
I had to struggle to hear my partner speak.
The lightening is a little too dark, I couldn't examine my food.
Just a little tweaks required and they will have a marvelous establishment
My overall experience was not so great, I made reservations on Open table for 4pm the day of, i was not seated up until 6pm. The food was amazing, servers amazing but the hosts are not so nice. They lack communication. I understand is busy during brunch but atleast let us know what is going on.
the food and service was great .. I walked and was seated in less than 5 minutes.
Went for a Sunday funday/Galentines day brunch. We started off with the shrimp, mussels and wings appetizers. All were delicious. For drinks I had the hibiscus margarita which was good but then switch to the Mardi Gras which was delicious. For entrees I shared the pork chop and the strawberry french toast. If you want something sweet and absolutely amazing. The French toast was so good. The pork chops were cooked just right and I swapped the sweet potatoes for the garlic mash which were good. The cornbread with jalapeno were very tasty and the mac and cheese was so good also. Overall it was a great time. I definitely will be back for brunch! Just be sure to make reservations. It gets very busy!
I’ve been going to Soco since it opened. It has continuously been one of my favorite places to dine.
Great place!!! Immediate seating...service was amazing and the food was delicious
The food isn’t bad but their policy regarding men not being able to wear a baseball cap is pretty ridiculous since it is really a sports bar type of atmosphere. Also, the fact that they ask you to remove it after they seat you and order your meal and drinks. Will likely not patron there again.
Very good food and pretty cool environment. Bit loud n hot with so so service for the somewhat high price. Overall I’d say go for the food!
I was very excited to try this restaurant after hearing great reviews from friends and it lived up to my expectations in terms of food and ambiance. However, I made a reservation for 5:15, arrived at 5:08, and was told that the kitchen does not open until 5:30 and that I should wait at the bar. Why allow me to make a reservation when the restaurant isn’t open????? If I wanted to go to a bar I would have instead of this restaurant. I ultimately wasn’t seated until 5:45. That was the only sour spot of my evening. I felt scammed into buying drinks rather than coming just for the food, which was my intention. Felt highly unprofessional and I hope the restaurant will plan against this in the future and only allow for reservations during hours in which they are open.
food was good, but I didn't like the drinks. I had 2 different alcoholic beverages and I didn't like them. My friend didn't like her's either. We had some agava magarita drink (nasty) and also a the mango soco specialty drink (forgot the name of it).
Everything about this place is heaven I can still taste the Mac and cheese in my mouth thank u god for this place!!!!
Always enjoy my time at Soco. Our waitress was super nice and our food was great. Unfortunately we wee asked to leave by what appeared to be manager because he said other people had reservations (so did we). I found this to be bit unprofessional and offputting which ruined the end of our experience.
This restaurant is FANTASTIC!! The Ambiance is IMPECCABLE!!! I enjoyed your establishment. I love it!!!
Love this place.
This spot is ok.....I expected more considering the reviews I read. The Soco Island drink was basically juice, the food was good, but nothing spectacular about it. I had the Blackened Salmon with string beans mashed sweet potatoes and pickled carrots.....nothing I would not be able to do at home. Hush puppies taste like dough, not cornmeal as they should, and the remoulade sauce was watery...This was a Tues night, not crowded.
The food was AMAZING! The ambiance was fun and great music - awesome live music towards the end of dinner. Highly recommend - wish it were closer to me!
Great food and customer service! Friendly environment.
Great place and good vibes. Will be back next time I visit New York.
Great time as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A tad expensive, but the flavors and execution was absolutely worth it. Will travel from Washington Heights to Brooklyn JUST for their Mac & Cheese, Red Velvet Waffle and Chicken. Didn’t really care for the mimosas but the $40 carafe was ideal for the situation. Service was great. Glad we had reservations because the place was packed within an hour of opening.
I have been here several times. This Saturday, though, for brunch, they had no fresh lemon, which I had requested for my water. In fact, the server said there were no "garnishes' in the entire restaurant. I reminded him that Key Food is right across the street. lol. We both had a good attitude about it, but I think it's inexcusable for a restaurant of this size and at this price point to have no fresh citrus, as I would have even accepted lime or orange, but, alas, he said they had none. really?
Always amazing food. The drink tasted watered down and for the size cup wasnt worth it. The mac and cheese is worth every penny and the wings that are served as appetizers...a...mazing!
Go here for the food
Go elsewhere for the drinks
Soco Island i believe is what i ordered and it was a no.
The food was absolutely delicious and prepared exactly how we requested. The atmosphere was also nice. Its a nice place to dine and socialize with significant other or friend.
Hair in my food and food was nasty and over cooked
I went twos years in a row for my birthday dinner. This place never lets me down.
Came here for my birthday with 9 others. They wouldn't let us sit down until all 10 of us were inside the building . Which 7-8 of us were inside. The others were simply just parking. I work in the restaurant industry and we HAPPILY allow our guest to sit if at least half of the party is there. Next we had a surprisingly small prefixed menu. 45$ per person plus a 20% tip. So basically you get to choose a 3 course meal, but a limited one. Had I read anything about a prefixed menu for a party of 10, we would have went elsewhere. As for the bill, the server made a mistake because only 9 of us ended up rolling with the prefixed menu, while the other ordered side dishes to keep herself under her budget, but he charged us for 10. So make sure to double check your receipt at the end. My chicken and waffles was decent, but the unwanted appetizers and dessert that they were able to scam us of the $45 p.p were gross. Would go back again with my boyfriend or a few friends but never again with a large party for any celebration.
Loved the food, especially the Mac and cheese. Drinks were good too, just wish they had happy hour specials.
Awesome outstanding food and customer service
