Society is an energetic and fun restaurant and bar located in Tempe on the corner of University and Rural next-door to the Tempe Improv. Society offers inventive Italian and Mediterranean cuisine created by Chef Kelly Fletcher. We offer our full dinner menu daily from 4pm to 1:30am with Happy Hour Sunday-Thursday 4pm to 6pm and Reverse Happy Hour Wednesday night from 10PM-12AM. Society is a stunning oasis in the desert with a large 28 seat illuminated rose quartzite bar top with an extensive wine list and creative house cocktails. We have plush booths, couches and a separate dining room area. When visiting Society we want you to escape with us and enjoy our hospitality!

The drinks were very very good however the food took too long, we were 3-4 rounds of drinks before any food came out. I ordered a $58 steak I asked for medium well and my steak was charred burnt. Since they took long the first time making it I didn’t ask for it to be corrected because I had plans otherwise I would’ve asked them to make it again. The waitress was very nice and polite. I would go back to the this restaurant for the drinks and ambience again but not to eat.

Service was outstanding and food even better. We had ora king salmon and a fabulous mushroom pasta with chicken. Perfect place to go before seeing a show at the Gammage. They knew we had plans and made sure to get us out in plenty of time. Have gone to Society often but it is still our "go to" place for a great meal and stunning ambience.

Her attention to detail and warm, professional demeanor set the tone for a flawless dining experience. She went above and beyond—expertly guiding a gluten-free guest through the menu with confidence and care, and offering thoughtful, off-the-beaten-path suggestions that we might have missed otherwise. The culinary highlights were plentiful. We kicked things off with the house Signature Mule and two outstanding appetizers: the rich, savory pork belly and the indulgent bacon-wrapped dates—both beautifully balanced in flavor and presentation. For mains, the fresh pasta dishes were standouts, especially the vibrant Pesto Penne and the earthy, aromatic Mushroom Truffle pasta. A surprising favorite was the duck meatloaf—an inventive twist on a classic that was both hearty and refined. Everything was very good. The only disappointment was not being able to get separate checks. Of course we figured it out for ourselves but it’s just not that difficult to provide this service. Otherwise the food and service was stellar. We will go again.

Great first time experience at Society. Service was friendly and very helpful. Every bite from Charcuterie to Desert was delicious. We loved the Duck Meatloaf and Beef Ragu best.

Everything about this place was amazing! Best Beef Ragu I've ever had! Loved the ambience. The staff and servers were amazing. 10 out of 10 . Highly recommend!! Will definitely be coming back!!

Let’s start with the service , We were the only ones in the restaurant at first. At first the server was coming over what felt like every second to get our order in not really allowing us time to look over the menu. We had some questions about certain items on the menu and she barely would let me finish my sentence before cutting me off and assuming what I was asking. After we placed our order we never seen the waitress until after our food came out. She never came to clear the appetizer plates off the table or anything which is not a big deal however the table we were sitting at was so small we didn’t have room to put our main courses so the person who brought the food took them. The food was very bland for my liking . But the appetizers were very tasty but very small portion definitely not share able . Overall the restaurant was very cute but the service was very lacking.

Ayanna, as the manger that spoke with you during your dinner. I'm a bit perplexed by this review. When I stopped by the table to ask how everything was, there was zero dissatisfaction expressed to me. Fast forward to today and we're reading a 1 star review. Brittney was there to handle your bottle service, dropped off multiple rounds of cocktails as well as appetizers and entrees. We want our staff to be present to in order explain the food and ensure that we are offering the best dish that falls in line with our guests desires. However we don't want our staff to be so present at the table that it feels like they are being overbearing. I understand that everyone has a different expectation of service however we don't feel like your experience last night justified this review.
