Society is an energetic and fun restaurant and bar located in Tempe on the corner of University and Rural next-door to the Tempe Improv. Society offers inventive Italian and Mediterranean cuisine created by Chef Kelly Fletcher. We offer our full dinner menu daily from 4pm to 1:30am with Happy Hour Sunday-Thursday 4pm to 6pm and Reverse Happy Hour Wednesday night from 10PM-12AM. Society is a stunning oasis in the desert with a large 28 seat illuminated rose quartzite bar top with an extensive wine list and creative house cocktails. We have plush booths, couches and a separate dining room area. When visiting Society we want you to escape with us and enjoy our hospitality!

Food and service was excellent. Jared was a fantastic server. The bartender maid is a delightful concoction. This was our first time there and we will be back. The whipped feta and the Brussels sprouts were delicious.

My group had a reservation when the restaurant opened at 4pm so it was quiet, which was nice and allowed us to communicate better. I'm sure it's louder when it's busier. Food and wine was very good and customer service was as well. They aren't able to split more than 4 checks but other than that, it's a really cute place and would definitely dine here again.

Overall, Society was just "ok." The ambience was great and our server was exceptionally knowledgeable regarding the menu. The 'Whipped Feta Dip' was amazing but our main meals were..."meh." There were four of us and we each ordered a different pasta entree. Not bad, but not, great. I would probably only dine there again if we were seeing a comedy show next door.

We dined at this restaurant on Saturday, June 28th, with a reservation for six that became seven. Over the course of the evening, we ordered generously—multiple appetizers, drinks, entrees, desserts, and coffees. Our total bill came out to just under $700. We came to enjoy a nice evening out with family, and while the food and service were mostly solid throughout, the way things ended completely ruined the experience. As we were wrapping up our desserts and coffees, my 9-year-old daughter returned to the table with a small ice cream from a nearby shop. She has a severe nut allergy and had opted to get her dessert separately. We were nearly finished with our meal when the manager decided to send over a message—not even delivered personally, but passed through our server—that outside food wasn’t allowed. To say this was disappointing is an understatement. After spending nearly $700 on food and drinks, being approached in such a passive, impersonal, and frankly disrespectful way was beyond frustrating. My daughter is nine years old. It was over 100 degrees outside. The street was crowded with commotion from shows letting out nearby. Were we supposed to send her outside by herself or stand outside with her in the heat, simply because she had a scoop of ice cream while we finished our meal? The manager didn’t even have the professionalism or basic courtesy to speak to us directly—he put the server in an incredibly awkward position instead. It was clear to us that hospitality and customer respect are not priorities here. The whole situation was handled in such an ungracious, distasteful, and frankly, appalling way. I left feeling disrespected, disappointed, and honestly disgusted. For a restaurant of this caliber and price point, I expected better. I’m not sure I’d return after this experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others unless management learns how to show basic decency and respect to their guests.

We don't allow food from other buildings in here. It doesn't matter if you spend $20 dollars or $5000. Unless it is discussed and logged, it is against health code. No restaurant does this. You're basically saying you spent enough to feel that the rules don't apply to you. There are rules and this is a business. Second, its Arizona, the heat isn't something we control, its hot here all year. You are publicly telling us you are disgusted and appalled with us (That is a bit much). You could wait till after your done eating to get ice cream. Alternatively, we serve nut free ice cream and you could have just got some here. No manager needs to explain this. Our servers are an extension of our policies. Telling someone they can't bring outside food or drink in is pretty basic.

The drinks were very very good however the food took too long, we were 3-4 rounds of drinks before any food came out. I ordered a $58 steak I asked for medium well and my steak was charred burnt. Since they took long the first time making it I didn’t ask for it to be corrected because I had plans otherwise I would’ve asked them to make it again. The waitress was very nice and polite. I would go back to the this restaurant for the drinks and ambience again but not to eat.

Service was outstanding and food even better. We had ora king salmon and a fabulous mushroom pasta with chicken. Perfect place to go before seeing a show at the Gammage. They knew we had plans and made sure to get us out in plenty of time. Have gone to Society often but it is still our "go to" place for a great meal and stunning ambience.

Everything was very good. The only disappointment was not being able to get separate checks. Of course we figured it out for ourselves but it’s just not that difficult to provide this service. Otherwise the food and service was stellar. We will go again.
