Society is an energetic and fun restaurant and bar located in Tempe on the corner of University and Rural next-door to the Tempe Improv. Society offers inventive Italian and Mediterranean cuisine created by Chef Armando Aguirre. We offer our full dinner menu daily from 4pm to 1:30am with Happy Hour Sunday-Thursday 4pm to 6pm and Reverse Happy Hour Wednesday night from 10PM-12AM. Society is a stunning oasis in the desert with a large 28 seat illuminated rose quartzite bar top with an extensive wine list and creative house cocktails. We have plush booths, couches and a separate dining room area. When visiting Society we want you to escape with us and enjoy our hospitality!

If a name for the honoree, birthday age or years of celebration is not annotated, we unfortunately will not be able to print your custom menu as there is not enough information to go on to create a personal menu. Weird vibes. Kids at host stand were not welcoming and need some training since it’s the first impression we get. The windows overlook the line for the inprov next door and everyone waiting is staring into our table. Not sure why they don’t find a way to put drapes up or something. The restaurant also over looks a parking lot so covering the window would help a lot. Food is good, not great. The photos of the restaurant are all of the bar. The restaurant look is basic and nothing like the photos, not sure why they didn’t extend the look of the bar l, which is really nice, Into the restaurant.

It was really great! We were having a surprise birthday party and our waiter was very accommodating. I also appreciate how receptive the hosts were to making the birthday seating arrangement wonderful as well!

It was super easy to find parking and the restaurant. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who confirmed our reservation and led us thusly to our table. Moments later our server likewise greeted us and perfectly timed coming back to check on us and take our orders. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner were hot, delicious, and devoured. Beautiful atmosphere and could work well for a casual dinner and visit or an impressive first date venue.

Society was recommended to us by a waitress at a breakfast restaurant. I think that set really high expectations for us which Society failed to meet. The food was good although there was a couple pieces of my grilled chicken that was cold in the middle. They did mess up our order and had to remake one of the plates, surprising because there was only a handful of people in there. The waitress was pleasant but not overly attentive to our table. The restaurant is on the second level which made it more difficult for our elderly mother to get to. Overall it just wasn’t what I thought it would be but probably perfect for others.

Outstanding service; the staff made us feel like guests of honor. And of course the food was amazing, but everybody knows that’s what you should expect from Society. I asked for a quiet table and the hostess delivered it. There are both quiet and lively seating areas so if you have a preference be sure to say so.
