With over 20 years of experience in the kitchen, Nicholas McCann, now Executive Chef of Society Cafe, has always been passionate about food. Drawing inspiration from his family recipes, Nicholas quickly fell in love with the culinary world at a young age and began his career at The French Culinary Institute in NYC. Since then, he has worked with some of the city’s most acclaimed chefs and restaurants, including working alongside Chef Luis Bollo of Salinas before moving on to become an Executive Chef at TESSA, The Milling Room, and Corkbuzz.

At Society Cafe, Chef Nicholas flexes his creativity by bringing a fresh perspective to the restaurant’s ‘market-to-table’ concept. With a rotating seasonal menu reflective of the city’s local farmers and markets, guests can expect to experience Chef Nicholas’ unique culinary creations alongside its intimate & classic art deco inspired space.

Field & Feast Dinner Series Join Greenwich Village staple and market-to-table restaurant Society Cafe – the team behind the regularly sold-out Astrology Dinner Series – for a brand-new dinner series celebrating the restaurant’s deep-rooted relationships with local New York farm partners. Tucked inside boutique property Walker Hotel Greenwich Village, the series will highlight a different farm each season, with menus centered around hyper-local, peak-season ingredients and thoughtfully selected wine pairings, all crafted by Executive Chef Nicholas McCann.

    The food was “over the top” . Great combinations of flavors and creative sauces. Baked oysters sublime, as well as lamb meatballs! Thank you! Server was excellent! Sorry I didn’t get his name.

    Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the service was spotty. The food was ok, but nothing special. The building is really cool so we enjoyed that.

    For a restaurant of this type the server should have been better trained. We had to wait so long several times While she just stood at a podium.
