Nice brunch - tons of natural light and good spacing between tables. So perfect for our party of 6 to be in a horseshoe shaped booth. Nice omelets and salads too. I would love to see them add a frenchtoast option!
Very disconnected and lackluster service, especially for a so-called Michelin Star restaurant. Our waiter didn’t seem to care if we were happy or not or if we needed anything. Timing was really awful, the person who I was with’s entré came out about 40 mins before mine...the food was good but we literally had to WORK to get our food or ask for anything extra.
Also don’t order the $14 hummus/chips or veggies combo ($7 each), smallest most ridiculous portion of humus ever (bowl comes with the very bottom lined w/ hummus, it’s essentially an empty bowl that has about 4 bites in it, so plan on ordering at least 4 more)...
Although, at the end they did comp us my entré due to the wait - But the food was really delicious, everything else was not as positive though
I chose Society Cafe for Restaurant Week because their dinner menu was better than many of the other restaurants. The ambience was very nice. It felt like we were having dinner in someone's study. The cocktails were well crafted (not watered down and they used the correct ice for cocktails, I'm a snob when it comes to that) and the food was excellent! I will definitely return to Society Cafe!
Enjoyed the food, had great service, and will be going back very soon.
Overall our experience was nothing short of amazing. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and our server, Sierra, was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to return! Five star rating all throughout.
Everybody was polite. The waitress knew what she was talking about. The food looked great. I didn’t really liked the burger I had, but my husband did like it.
Came here for restaurant week winter 2019 and it was fantastic. I had the olive oil poached laughing bird shrimp to start and the pan roasted porgy as my entree from the RW menu. I'm not usually a big seafood person, but both dishes were prepared so well! I highly recommend them. My friend ordered the eggs florentine (off the RW menu) and she enjoyed it. We also ordered the olive oil pancakes to share (off of the RW menu) and it was okay. It was a more mature spin on the classic pancakes. The ambience and service were excellent as well. I will be returning!
Very disappointing experience. Out of 4 meals, only one was good (the burger.) Two orders of Eggs Benedict came out cold and the order of quiche was not only cold, but it was more like a pudding pie. It was solid and it had actually hardened on the ends as if it had been cut and sitting on the plate waiting to be ordered and served. Also, the quiche was supposed to have carmelized onions, spinach and tomato and I think I had one bite of something that didn't taste like egg pudding. The ingredients weren't even noticeable. In addition, both people who ordered the Eggs Benedict ordered a side of potatoes each; the waitress never told them that potatoes were included with the dish, therefore we spent an extra $12 on potatoes that were not necessary and not eaten. The dressing on the side salads was good, but the salad itself wasn't very fresh. There were several pieces of stale, mushy greens. We told the waitress that the orders were cold and she said she was sorry. Then, we never saw her again. She didn't come back to our table to ask if we wanted dessert and we had to ask someone else for our check.
The Walker Hotel is lovely and I and was very anxious to have brunch there to celebrate my birthday (which had been noted on the Open Table reservation) but was very disappointed. I would not recommend.
We went for the winter restaurant week but ended up ordering from main menu. We will be going back real soon!
Food for the restaurant week special was delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful, from the ceiling to the floors, the fireplaces, etc. We felt rushed through the meal, which was the only downside. I would definitely come back though.
Quiet and quaint hotel lower level. Upscale feel. Excellent service. Tasteful food
Good food and drink. The restaurant was freezing cold.
Food is good and service is great!
Lovely spot. Love the booth seating. And easy to hear and have a conversation. The service was also solid. The food, I went for brunch and had their omelette, was nothing special.
Great night catching up with old friend. Great food and service.
The restaurant, service and food were terrific. My husband and I started with the octopus and shared the chicken entree and scallops. I cannot wait to come back. The atmosphere was beautiful and the entire experience was wonderful.... highly recommend!
Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in New York!
Service was incredible, everyone was extremely kind and helpful. The food was DELICIOUS!!! Everything was fresh and one of the highlights was definitely the way dishes were presented.
We weren’t sure what kind of wine we wanted to get and Ada (the manager) offered to help and guided us through the menu. Plus, one of my friends is a Vegan and chef Manny was great at putting together a couple of delicious and creative options for us! you don’t get that kind of service everywhere and just the fact that they accommodated us in every possible way was just amazing.
Highly recommend this place for any type of occasion, once again had a great night at Society Cafe!!
Great place for a business meeting or brunch with friends.
We were seated upon arrival. Friendly staff. We were there for restaurant week. The menu was varied and options were all enticing. We all happened to order the braised short rib and we all agreed it was amazing!
It’s a great place to have a meal with friends. The noise level wasn’t too bad but then we were seated in a corner booth so it felt a bit more intimate.
The food is quite exceptional. Highly recommend this place. Make a reservation.
Very slow service and food is not that good. Would not recommend it to anyone.
The food tasted good but the tiniest portions , and I have been to a Michelin 4 star restaurant in France. We went for brunch. Most of the dishes were one egg with sauce and a slice of bacon or few pieces of chorizo. The omelette my daughter had was tiny with a small handful of greens Took 20 min for coffee. Asked for it after 10 min and then waited 10 more to get it. We won’t be back. NYC is brunches are the best. Just not here
Had shishito peppers, burrata, chick pea fries, trout entre, and delicious bloody Mary’s! Fabulous! Lovely atmosphere.
We loved the octopus and the cauliflower small plates. Everything we ordered came at the right temperature and we enjoyed sharing the mushroom pizza and risotto among three of us. We liked the dining room - felt very cozy and while it was a little noisy it was much better than most places and we were able to hear each other. Definitely will return!
Cozy, intimate but also lively without being frenetic and loud. Great service at the bar lounge and in dining room.
Bartender make am outstanding Marguarita.
The food is interesting, delicious and portions are generous.
All in all-a very welcoming atmosphere.
On arrival no one was there to greet us. Asked 3 people where we should sit. Puzzled look. I identified self as open table guest. Not recorded as such. The tables for 2 were lined up in a row and very close. Unpleasant. Waitress was pleasant. Doubt I would return.
A wonderful dining experience
Nice place for business or family meeting for a nice chat
Cute/Quiet place for brunch, however, the staff has changed over and the customer service is less than it used to be- we only got a refill on coffee once- we asked two additional times, but no one ever came and filled our cups. an updated menu still has no fruit or gluten free bread/muffin option. Lastly, the bacon side is $6 and you get two (2) pieces; very underwhelming.
It’s an exceptionally welcoming, pretty, old-worldish place with a nice, moderately priced menu. The service is sweet and fresh-faced, but mainly scattered and incompetent. Maybe it was as because of the holiday season.
Very cute yet sophisticated spot, great decor, food was very good, menu was small but everything that we tried we loved, our waitress was nice and friendly, the place was quite so you can actually talk
I had excellent birthday lunch at Society Cafe. The waitress and manager were very friendly and offered suggestions. The pre fix lunch was a good value. The pizza and fish were very tasty. The wine choices were also excellent. We tried a new wine that my friend and I enjoyed very much. Service was friendly, professional and we were never rushed. The restaurant is spacious and very beautiful with large skylight over the back tables. We were accommodated with a huge corner both as requested. The manager came to talk to us about wine and came to check on us again as we were enjoying the pizza and fish. Overall it was fantastic lunch. Please give it a try.
Great ambiance! Cozy, quiet spot for a Sunday night dinner with friends. Food was delicious!
I brought a friend from out of town for Sunday brunch. She got the eggs florentine and I got the chicken and waffles. I chose this place because I could make a reservation and it seemed fancy for a fun time. The service was WONDERFUL. The florentine was delicious as was the iced latte I ordered. The chicken and waffles dish was a little jarring. It's brought out like a sandwich with pickles and a lot of sauce inside, no syrup. So if you're in the mood for something more traditional either don't order it or ask for it deconstructed. The chicken was not necessarily standard fried chicken, it was more like a chicken cutlet -- good but different. The waffle was fluffy but got soggy with the sauce. The parmesan fries were decent, but a small portion for the $8 side you paid for. I would come back, but probably order something else.
Food wasn't good!
Food and service were very good.
Super friendly staff, all the food was amazing. Perfect date spot
We were visiting NYC so was a great choice to eat our Thanksgiving meal there.
Great place for a nice dinner to have a conversation. Food is not spectacular, but solid. Ambiance is awesome. Great Bar.
We picked Society Cafe based on reviews and pics and were SO impressed. The ambiance is fantastic... warm, soft lighting and design. Felt like a vintage salon. Read reviews citing noise issues but we were on the early side and had no problem. Started with a round of excellent cocktails, then shared plates and dessert, all wonderful. We’ll make this a stop on our next visit for sure.
