I like there so much! Food was delicious! Service is amazing! Restaurant is so fancy. Definitely will come back here again!
We were there for a birthday celebration and everyone enjoyed themselves. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed all the food which was different without being over the top. We'll be back.
We really enjoyed it. The Oysters were excellent but a bit of sticker shock. Close to 6$ each. Yikes.
Ambiance was great. Wine list could use some upgrading.
Food was excellent.
We have eaten here a few times and have always had a great meal - tbd food is great Chef quality and the service is very good, a very nice place for a nice relaxed meal
My husband and I celebrated our Valentine’s Day at society cafe. Despite the small wait we had a great evening. The manager gifted us a glass of Prosecco while we waited for the table. Our server Emma was so helpful with explaining the specials. The squid ink pasta and prons was absolutely amazing. Our desert was our favorite part a heart shaped red velvet cake. Will be back many times more.
I went there for a weekday breakfast. The food was great but the service was indifferent and it took us more than 40 minutes to get a few items when the restaurant wasn’t anywhere near full (maybe 3 other tables).
Cozy inviting atmosphere, good food, very pleasant and good waitress.
Food is always amazing here. Staff is very nice and polite. Our server Sindi brought a cake for my birthday. Would recommend to everyone.
If you're looking for a small bite in the city in a fairly quiet atmosphere this is a good spot. Overall the service was pleasant and unintrusive enough. The food was somewhat lacking in overall flavor - underseasoned perhaps. Our order included some fried items - these seemed either overcooked or soaked in oil. Overall great decor, nice quiet atmosphere, average/okay eats.
I came here with friends for my birthday and it was the perfect place to enjoy a classy night with friends. We all ordered cocktails from the house specialty cocktails (our favorites were the Dixie hummingbird and the emerald city!) and shared pizza and small bites as appetizers. Our favorites were the wild mushroom pizza and chickpea fries. The entrees were delicious too — I got the butternut squash ravioli. Overall, wonderful service and an absolutely delicious meal. Many thanks to our waitress Rachel ! Will definitely be back!
Great food, great service. Sindi our server was wonderful and we can’t wait to come back. Definitely Loved the bread pudding
It was a dinner birthday party for a good friend of mine, party of 6! My party consist of vegetarians and Thise on Keto diet and Food choice was excellent for all! Except one of our order Halibet fish was completely raw...we could not believe it and they too were astonished! Not sure what chef was doing for that dish 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ !! But they apologized profusely and of course we did not pay for it and got replacement dish with no cost! I believe its unfortunate incident ...everything else was absloute perfection , service, place....PERFECT!! we enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back!!! Thank You
From the moment we walked in the door everything was amazing. It was so relaxed and cozy... I wanted a very chilled, quiet brunch with my girlfriends and this was just perfect. The food was amazing. Highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back.
Once again.... amazing! We had a wonderful dinner. The chef is great. The service is great.... Alex was beyond excellent. Their happy hour is great and the longe is cozy. The short rib is best in the city. Please go try it..... but don’t take my seat!
Ordered salmon well done and it came quite rare.
This was our first time at Society Cafe. The ambiance is truly that of a classic New York restaurant. Will definitely plan on returning.
Lamb sausage cassoulet was delicious, as was the short ribs. Their regular menu looked good too.
Cozy, welcoming and charming restaurant with a wonderful menu and wine list including a food and wine pairing option. The presentation and execution of the selections from the salads to the lamb, fish and desserts were delightful. The wait staff were professional, friendly and efficient. A wonderful experience! Also fun to have a pre-dinner cocktail fireside in the hotel reception room.
The vibe is great, and the food was solid. Definitely recommend the roasted salmon. I wish they didn’t seat 2-tops like a cattle call, crammed in together, when there was ample space in the restaurant. It was difficult to hear my partner over our neighbors’ conversation. Service is mediocre. But would recommend for the ambiance and food.
The warm bread and herb butter is undoubtedly the culinary highlight here. The Brussels and Croque Madame pizza rely heavily on chunks of thick-cut bacon for flavor, which sometimes works and sometimes feels like eating a mouthful of Morton’s salt. The pasta with “duck confit” tasted more like a microwaveable offering than a well-composed dish. Clearly left under a heat lamp too long, It was dry and flavorless, with the added bonus of overcooked, rubbery noodles.
Nice menu with different seafood, pasta and meat and poultry options - all deliciously prepared in a cozy atmosphere where you can speak in hush tones. Excellent cocktail and wine list too with an accommodating waitress
Beautiful comfortable place. service a tad slow but still not a frustrating level as there seemed to be only one waiter?? While the food was delicious - there were so many flavor/food combinations that I found it overwhelming and complicated - very rich and I kept wishing for simpler preparations with fewer of the interesting ingredients. But I will definitely return especially to enjoy cocktails and snacks. Perhaps not a full meal though.
Good food, good selection, good service, in a beautiful, cozy space.
Amazing service! Great value for the food during restaurant week... exceptional food. Will be back!
Our server Bobana was wonderful as was the food!!
The place looks great and service was excellent !
Food was overall good but a bit too salty for me ...
The food was very salty
One of the BEST dinners we have had in a long time. The service was great and the food was WOW. I am a private chef and I rarely WOWED! The scallop and the short rib were amazing. When I do go out I love when it is this good!
It was the absolutely perfect setting for a business meeting. Classy atmosphere and quiet. Breakfast and service were also great.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The food is very good and did not take long to to arrive. Our server Bobana was very, very professional and patient when catering to our needs. We have added society cafe as one of our date night destinations.
There are hundreds of good restaurants in Greenwich Village for lunch- this is not one of them.
Have had one breakfast and two lunches here in the past few weeks. Go for breakfast
Great food, great service, great ambiance. 10/10 will return for more
Having lunch here at 2:30 in the afternoon is such a treat. The place is quiet and empty, the service is wonderful, the place is beautiful, and the pizzas are great. They're fancy drinks are a joy for those who enjoy a bit of old New York ritual.
Always love coming here. Food is great, service is great. The manager always comes by to ask how we are enjoying everything. Mine and my boyfriends favorite weekend spot!
Second time I went due to proximity and availability. First time was relatively empty and decent; second time - busier but I guess they can’t handle the volume. My friend’s toast was burnt black; mine as well - they tried to cover up the black with a thin layer of avocado. Potatoes were undercooked; service was inattentive but acceptable. Will not return.
We went for brunch on a Saturday. The restaurant is tucked away and beautifully designed. The food, however, was what you expect. Not amazing but not bad. The service was the same.
The food was ok. Not as good as I expected.
My husband and I wanted to try a new place (for us) near our apartment to celebrate New Years eve. We were very pleased by our choice of Society. The ambiance was very inviting, with its cozy fireplace and couches greeting the visitor and leading to the warmly decorated and festively appointed dining room. Everything we ordered was delicious and well-prepared, including the octopus appetizer, halibut and scallop entrees, and especially the unusual cheesecake. Even the bread pastries were good. The wine and spirit selection was extensive with a range of by-the-glass wines that were affordable. The service was very attentive, and we appreciated our waitress's suggestions. The talented five piece jazz band contributed greatly to the holiday spirit. And the gift to diners of a small flute of champagne to toast 2020 was a welcome touch to culminate a very satisfying occasion.
Great ambiance, excellent service and food for a decent price.
Quietly hidden away down a flight of steps in a vintage West Village hotel, the restaurant served excellent food in an ambiance that was perfect for conversation, something that's getting harder and harder to find in NYC restaurants. All the food was well prepared, and one could make a meal from smaller plates to full entrees, your choice. Perfect service as well, not obtrusive but flowing around us easily.
