Social Kitchen and Bar Ratings and Reviews
Made a reservation for a high top and was seated in the back of the restaurant at a high top next to the kitchen, where all of the servers gather. In my mind it should have been the high tops at the window - no mention of high tops in two areas of the restaurant. We opted for a different table altogether. We were here two weekends in a row and I basically ordered the same thing. The second time it was half the size as the first and minimal amounts of “stuff” for the skillet breakfast. So disappointing. Wanted to really impress some out-of-town friends and this place let us down.
Went for brunch on a quiet Saturday morning. We sat in the bar at a high top, we were the only guests at the time. They bought my husbands breakfast out and mine came out about five minutes or more later. His breakfast was cold waiting for mine to come to the table. Our server didn’t say anything about not bringing out my food separately- Overall disappointing. 🙁
The you woman who was our wait person was absolutely outstanding. I don't know her name but she told me she had traveled to Greece recently. Could her name be Mandy? At any rate, they just don't get any better.
In the colder seasons when you need to keep the curtains down on the porch room, you might consider velcroing some sound deadening material to the ceiling. Just the level of noice from a relatively full house is overwhelming! And that is not counting the music...which fortunately gets overrun by the conversation volume level.
Upon showing up at our reservation time we were seated immediately. My wife & I shared the Brussels sprouts appetizer and for our entrees she had the Rick chicken while I had the salmon. The Brussels sprouts were made with vinegar and very salty. Both of our entrees were prepared perfect and tasted great. We’ll be back.
I have been to Social many times but just went for the first time on a Friday night. I was a little disappointed because it was so busy the service was slow and it was so loud I had to shout to my friends. Was looking for a relaxing night with friends and it was a little stressful. I always get the same thing as I love it and this time it was burnt.
Lively and energetic ambiance and wonderful food and service combine for a dependably fun experience every time I visit Social Kitchen. This time our group included my 92 year-old mother so my only negative comment is that it's pretty tough to get her in and out of the restaurant with her walker and limited mobility. Had to stop traffic on Maple and get help maneuvering her up and down two steps. Not the most accessible place for an elderly person (who I know is not the demographic for Social Kitchen). (The bathroom was the exception - accessible for her.) But once inside, our family group had a terrific time and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
We were seated on the patio from past experience at the restaurant I knew that I did not want to sit on the patio. We asked to be seated inside and were told some large parties were coming and while it appeared that there was open seating they would be filled with large party reservations. We were there for shortly over an hour and the tables remained empty. While sitting on the patio (which is covered) we were rained on due to the covering leaking. It was about the worst experience I have had there. Which is disappointing because I did like the restaurant. It is not likely that I will return any time soon. There are just too many other options.
We are avid Social Kitchen visitors. We sat in the covered porch for brunch today, out of anyone's control the sun was blazing on us, making it not the best seat in the house. Regardless, Nick was incredible. He attempted to kill the bee that was bothering us and went out of his way to help us knowing we had someone in our party who was highly allergic. Nick was quick and conscious of all his surrounding tables while giving his upmost attention even when we needed many things! Thank you Nick for making our experience so great!!
We go to Social Kitchen on a regular basis. Normally, the experience is incredible. This time, we went to celebrate two 18th birthdays. The service was simply subpar. They didn't offer a single birthday dessert or anything and our waitress was rather cranky. Overall, normally, I would recommend but not after the last dining experience.
We came around 10pm Saturday night. We did have a little wait to be acknowledged and seated because the host was taking an order over the phone, was served cold coffee and dirty dishes.. seemed like night time isn't the right time. Food was good, we reordered coffee waitress was very nice.
Received our drinks and hardly saw our server again. Had to ask for a second round. Someone else dropped them off and didn't say anything. We wanted to order our main course but no one came by for a half hour. We just asked for our check. The dinner menu wasn't that interesting anyway.
Food was outstanding drinks were great service took forever waited 15 minutes before we could order our drinks which took another 10/15 min to get to the table. We had to request a server several times so we could put orders in. Besides that everything else was good.
Another fabulous meal at Social Kitchen. I had the brick chicken and it was great. Also, the brussel sprouts were amazing. Very tasty. The only negative is that we sat on the patio near the door and people kept exiting through the door and it slammed shut quite hard. Vert annoying. Don't sit near the patio door if you can avoid it.
