Social House 7
Food and drinks were amazing. We had a large party for my husband's birthday and the manager, chef and our waiters did everything to make our night enjoyable. Will be returning soon!
Great spot for happy hour, a night out and for theater goers on foot. We had great service, fun cocktails and yummy food recommendations. The brussel sprouts were the favorite at our table!
We had a great time! Look forward to going back again!
Booked ahead for pre-theater dinner on a Sunday when the Steelers were in town. This was a good move as it became very crowded while we dined. Were seated immediately upon arrival and drinks ordered and received quickly. John provided attentive and quick service all evening. We enjoyed the Aloha poke roll, Thai Lettuce wraps with extra lettuce and a tasty seabass with red coconut curry noodles. Paid attention to other reviews and ordered light aioli on the roll and it was just the right amount. Can't wait to return as the menu featured several other dishes that I wouldn't mind trying.
Excellent dining experience.
We were visiting for the Steelers game and celebrating our daughters wedding Anniversary. The experience here was awesome. From the very friendly greeter to the great drinks and delicious food. Options were amazing and it was all so good. Best part was our server, a young man named Drew. He was supposedly new and in training. But it was instantly obvious he was an experienced professional. He was helpful and engaging. An important part of our total dining experience. Would go back again for sure.
My daughter and I returned to Social House for lunch prior to a Benedum performance. Our server, John was the ONLY server in the place , and we counted 14 tables full! Guess what? It all went well. The guy food-running and (I’m guessing) the back-of-house guy in a baseball cap kept the food and drinks coming, and John checked in with us regularly!! Very impressive. The bar was busy, and the bartender was also hosting. She was hustling!!!!
We started with the Brussels sprouts. OMG. Could eat these every day. Poke and Bi Bim Bap were the perfect entrees. Despite the staff deficit, we were in and out and off to our show in good time.
While the ambiance is wonderful and the restaurant is beautiful, our food was very disappointing. We ordered sushi rolls which were not very fresh. Probably some of the worst rolls I’ve eaten. We also ordered the scallop pad Thai. It didn’t even taste like pad Thai. I didn’t like the taste at all. We ordered two of their grilled dishes — one shrimp and the other chicken wings. The shrimp came out gray and totally undercooked. We sent it back to be cooked further. The chicken wings were smothered in this teriyaki type sauce that was so overpoweringly salty that we couldn’t eat it. When the shrimp came back it was still undercooked and tasteless. We also ordered a chicken dish with rice that was about the only dish that was halfway decent, but nothing special. I can’t remember the other dishes but remember they were not good. Luckily the server took the shrimp and chicken wing dishes off of our bill, which I greatly appreciated. Sadly we all agreed that this was one of the worst meals we have had in years. The staff was super nice but it didn’t make up for our disappointment with the meal. I hate to leave bad reviews but I wouldn’t want anyone to waste their hard earned money on this food. Very disappointing to say the least but the Tums afterwards helped.
Cena antes del teatro
Amazing! Made me feel special on my birthday. David was our server and he was incredible
Server was covering far too large a group of tables and did not know selections that were not available. Did not have either of our beer or wine selections or a secondary beer selection. Each miss had a five minute lag before informing. Twice tried to put food on our table that we had not ordered.
When this restaurant first opened the vegetables were very well cooked and lightly sauced. Now they were limp and over sauced.
We have been there four times and the last two were disappointing after solid experiences early on. We will not go back a fifth time.
1/2 price bottle night and they were out of most bottles of wine. Service was crazy slow. Didn’t mint for my mojito. Pad Thai was average. Sushi was good though. We had a great meal there last time. This time was below average
We enjoyed It before the theatre
We absolutely love Social House. Our amazing experiences are always consistent and the service is outstanding!
Order too much food! Was very nice
Love this restaurant. The Brussel sprouts are what dreams are made of.
Service was extremely slow.
The food was good.
The tables were tight and not positioned well or comfortable.
Delicious food and great service! Definitely will go again!
The food was outstanding. The brussle sprout appetizer was wonderful. The only complaint is the sushi rolls were drizzled with too much aoli sauce. There was so much drizzled on that we scraped it off. It was still good. The poke roll was especially nice. The waiter was too attentive, stopping by the table every few minutes and wanting to engage in conversation when I and my companions simply wanted to enjoy our dinner.
Because it is close to Heinz Hall, the site of our concert that evening, we decided to try Social House 7 for the first time. We were warmly welcomed and seated (warning: if you are height-challenged as we are, you might want to ask for a table rather than a low-chaired booth or bring a cushion to sit on). We began with glasses of wine (very small selection of wines by the glass, but our glasses of Cabernet and Malbec were very good). We shared two first courses, Chee Chee Fried Brussels Sprouts and Thai Lettuce Wrap Chicken. The former was excellent and the large serving could have been shared by four people. The latter was good and we had to ask for more lettuce to wrap the stew-like chicken. For the main course, we ordered the Short Rib Yaki Noodles. The taste was interesting, but the dish was much too salty. The server, who gave outstanding service, offered to bring something else, but we decided to take what we had not eaten home and see if we could add something like tomatoes or rice to pull out some the salt. We will try Social House 7 again, but will order a different main course next time or make a full meal from the various first courses.
Best food in all of Pittsburgh. Hands down. Great service by everyone who works there too! Never have once left disappointed or hungry!
Absolutely wonderful! We got the special (Salmon with plum sauce), melted in our mouths! Very close to all the theaters. We'll be back.
The Brussels sprouts were amazing. The sashimi was very good. Our waiter was wonderful. The table was uncomfortable — a big round one for two people. The booth was even more uncomfortable — too low. It was fine, but I doubt I would return.
My friends and I were visiting Pittsburgh for a show and stopped here before.. looking for good sushi. The food exceeded our expectations. The poke roll is to die for as well as the ahi tuna, pork belly, and last but not least the giant mousse filled fortune cookie. 10/10 would recommend! The service was also outstanding. Honest and fast.
Our server John - I always request him - is phenomenal! He knows the menu, the food preparation and has excellent recommendations! He makes our dinner experience! (And the food is fantastic as well)
Service was excellent and the sushi with pop rocks was unique and amazing!
I have a Celiacs and need gluten free food. They were very accomodating to my needs and went out of their way to provide for me sauces that I could use.
We made reservations following a matinee at the O'Reilly Theater. It would have been okay if we didn't have reservations - there were plenty of tables available. The staff was friendly and or server explained the menus.
Service was very quick and the food was excellent. Very flavorful and different from everyday Asian fare. I had the Snow Crab Cali Roll and Scallop Pad Thai. My husband had a Philadelphia and the Bi Bim Bap. I also had the Seasonal Sake Punch (not my favorite).
I can't wait to go again and try something else!
The food was good, we tried a number of things from each section, and all of it was good or very good, including the desserts. The service from our waitress was excellent. The atmosphere is loud but fun. The only downside is that the food feels a tad overpriced, as do the the drinks. All in all, it’s a fun time though, and that adds to the value.
Great! Loved the French waiter!
Thank you for making the rock shrimp even though you took it off the lunch menu. I appreciate it! It was yummy!
Nice place, arrived at 9:30 on a Tuesday night. Just driven into town from Philadelphia. The restaurant was Completely empty. The man that greeted us at the door was clearly trying to discourage us from coming in, telling us that we could only order from the top portion of the menu as the kitchen was closing. We had a 9:45 reservation! We stayed, had a lovely waitress but we felt a little uncomfortable.
Really great food. I wouldn't have known about this restaurant if it wasn't for the groupon app.
Great pre show dinner location ! So nice to sit along bar with windows open! Food was delicious!!
Brook was an amazing server. She gave great recommendations. She knew the menu very well and was very friendly. The food was very tasty and prepared well. The jalapeño martini was super tasty.
Great birthday dinner with the hubby
Food is more as a good, have balance when comes to spices and sauces. I loved
Truly a wonderful dining experience! We stopped in before a show, and being our first time there, was truly impressed by our entire dining experience! The place was clean, and the entire dining team worked together to make sure every need at every table was met! Staff helped each other out, and food was being run out in a timely manner! We had the pleasure of having a French gentleman wait on us, and he was very knowledgeable and explained the entire menu process to us. He suggested many wonderful entrees, and everything we ordered was wonderful! A great place to stop before or after a show, or for a night on the town!! Can’t wait to go back again!!
Food was absolutely delightful. We really enjoyed our waiter”the French Dude”. Everything was great. The music was a little louder than we like.
We came here to eat before a play and were running a little late, but were able to get our drinks and food in a really reasonable time with enough time to spare before the show
