Social House 7
Dinner before the Garth Brooks concert. I discovered Social House 7 due to Groupon. This is my second time
♥️♥️♥️ Sushi and Brussel Sprouts and Egg Rolls we and always are FABULOUS!
The lamb dish was superb. It would be a crime to discontinue it.
Windows open just added to the ambiance! Love this place! Yummy steamed dumplings, Thai chicken wraps, and of course delicious roasted brussel sprouts!
This was not my first experience at social house. However, the most recent experience was not pleasant. The appetizers were great, kids enjoyed their food, my order of rice was scorched and after three conversations with our waiter about a “special dish” not on the menu, it never came out. He said we never ordered it but we did and asked about it three times. The tables were not set up properly and were on a lean causing food to slide off the table. When I told our waiter about the spill and he see me trying to clean it off the girls dresses. I had to ask for help cleaning and he literally brought me out dry rags and threw them on my chair for me to clean and walked away. Service was terrible! I would go back because of the atmosphere and the food is good, just a bad experience. I would not get the same waiter.
Great lunch spot with cozy outdoor seating for nice spring/summer days.
We took a group of 8 out for a business meeting and were vary pleased. It is a tapas/sharing restaurant but we are a close group that really likes to eat so it worked out well. A few dishes that stood out were the bacon wrapped quail eggs and the rib eye.
This is the best restaurant in the city, and one of the best Japanese restaurants in the world. Decor and ambiance spectacular. Very lively happy hour in the lounge!
We went for lunch. The food was fantastic. Really fresh sushi. Nice atmosphere. Great service. We will return.
The bench seating is too low for the tables.
All five of us found each dish absolutely delicious; carefully presented and with lingering, unique tastes. The maitre d' and our waiter (John) were both delightful, respectful, very polite and attentive. Fish dishes from sushi to cooked salmon were all exquiste, as were the chicken and beef dishes. The desserts were outstanding, very delicate with inventive shapes and just amazingly light and tasty. The restaurant has a superb ambiance, incredible interior modeling and architecture and breathtaking sculptures on the walls. A truly memorable and wonderful dining pleasure.
Nice atmosphere and good service. Lettuce wraps were delicious. Scallop Pad Thai was disappointing as it had way too much sauce and the flavor was so concentrated it was too overwhelming to eat.
Wanted someplace to eat at before a show and found this spot. Tonight my wife and I were without the kids, so it’s easier to try new restaurants. We weren’t disappointed. Arrived early and had a couple of drinks at the bar and then were seated. The menu is huge and it was tough to decide what to order.
The waitress said things were only the smaller Tapas sized portions so we ordered a couple of appetizers and salads to get things started. We also ordered a couple of rolls and sushi and sashimi. The waitress informed us that things would come out as they were ready. We only had to wait a couple of minutes before the food began to arrive. She was wrong, the portions were larger than expected and we would have been fine with less. But everything was so delicious we weren’t complaining. The rolls were huge, we recommend the Pop Rocks for sure.
We’ll definitely be returning and with the kids in tow. The food was great, menu options for days, good cocktails, and the price was reasonable.
Food was okay. But way over price. The scallops we're $12 and only had 4 thin pieces.
Good food and great service. Bibimbap was excellent. Sushi, tuna tartare, Ramen and Salmon Udon were all enjoyed.
My girlfriend and I were very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant (new to us). The food was excellent - we shared four different plates. Each one had generous portions! Since we arrived early in the evening, we got to take advantage of happy hour prices on a bottle of wine as well. The only downside we could see was the decor. It's pretty dark inside the restaurant - tough for our older eyes to see the menu! The only window seats were at the bar. But our server was fantastic. She made excellent recommendations to us when we asked, and made sure we were well taken care of. We had a show to get to at the Benedum afterward. It was less than a block away and so we could enjoy our dinners until the last minute. Nice!
A group of four of us went out before a show. The waitress was fantastic and stayed on top of everything. Other than being a little pricey there were no complaints!
Servers are overworked by poor management. If the pace and system were better, a wonderful place, unique in Pittsburgh.
GREAT MUSIC!!! THE DJ WAS AWESOME!!! I would absolutely go there again for a date night.
Dinner before a Show
This place has a very cool vibe and the food is very tasty. I've been there twice with similar experiences. I'd recommend it.
Was a little put off when arrived as David was visually frustrated when we asked for a table and to not sit along the window in the bright sun. Stomped to table and dropped place settings as he removed extras — items dropped on floor never picked up by him.
Jon, our server, on the other hand was WONDERFUL!!! He took the time to explain the menu, made suggestions and was very attentive. He stopped often enough to check on our needs without being annoying. Would definitely ask for him to be our server in the future.
Amazing food. Portions were properly sized. Except for the amazing Brussel sprouts - far, far closer to a quadruple portion. We orders only snap plays.. Everything was superb.
Always great and great service. Wednesday night is “Wine down” night so half price bottles!
The food was delicious! We really wanted to try dessert but our server said to stay away! Lol
Our waiter David was excellent. Food was very good . Located very close to Benedum Center
Food, service, restaurant were all wonderful! We were pretty much the only ones there for an early Sunday lunch. The only complaint I’d have would be the fact that they were mopping the floors while we were there, including right in front of our table. I would think that is something that would be done before the restaurant opened. Everything else was amazing!
The whole dinner party has never been to Social House 7 and we were very impressed. Great service, great food, and well priced for the quality. Very happy will be coming back!!
The food was good, the service was great, but the tapas style just wasn’t my thing.
Outstanding food. Excellent service from Jennifer. Love the place. Great menu. Nice variety of selections. Prob my favorite restaurant in the cultural district.
Freshest sushi I ever had
Delicious fusion from sushi rolls and dumplings (so tasty and delicate) to the rabata grilled salmon and chicken to the AMAZING large fortune cookie. The aroma assailed you in the most pleasant way as soon as you entered and the great experience just continued from that point.
I did feel a bit bad for the koi swimming in a relatively small square under plexi glass at the entrance.
Food was excellent. Waiter, John, was excellent.
The manager, David, is remarkable only because his demeanor and behavior was rude at best.
From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by the friendly bar manager who seated us. Our waitress Tessa, was beyond kind, attentive, and hardworking. She treated us so well! She was super knowledgable and made great dining recommendations. The appetizers, sushi, and entrees were all excellent. The brussel sprout appetizer was amazing! Risotto, scallop phad Thai, spciy tofu.. all delicious! The service at Social House is what elevates this experience, and really made our special girls night super memorable. Thank you, everyone, for treating us so well and giving us a very much needed night out! The hospitality was appreciated more than I can say! I can not wait to come back! Love the food! Love the staff! Love!
The wide variety of the menu makes this an experience worthwhile and memorable. Cannot wait to return.
My old ears have difficulty with all the ambient noise
The food is very creative - be certain to order the "fortune cookie" for dessert; it is surprisingly large and easily serves 4 people.
Our French waiter was good AND very entertaining; he made the evening even more enjoyable!
The food was great. The sushi, Ramen, egg rolls, grilled meats, fried rice... all great. The service was horrible. Didn’t pay attention to us, spraying cleaner all around us, pompous and rude. It was extremely loud with a group of bros drinking Bud Light at tables pushed together. It was the worst service I’ve had in a long time.
Awesome food and sushi! Great ambience and restaurant decor!
The sushi is good - most other food is WAY overpriced for the quality and/or portion size. The $12 lettuce wraps consisted of four pieces of bib lettuce and two ramekins of filling (just partially filled up). The pad Thai was a CLUMP of noodles, no sauce, and way over cooked. Most of the food is not worth the price - hence they’ve been sending out coupons lately. No other place downtown had an opening the entire night - this place was half full at peak dinner time and now I know why.
