Socarrat Paella Bar - Nolita
Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella and fideua (which substitutes fried noodles for rice) that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.

We couldn’t hear the waiter. Their “socarrat” was really just burnt rice that was hard to chew and hurt our teeth. The chocolate churros were TINY (only 2 small 1/3” wide by 4” long pieces). It was a wasted of money and really just not good.
Great food and excellent service.
food was really sumptuou, delicious, op quality and tasty-loved it
Paella was disappointing. Seafood was overcooked.
Perfect place to enjoy a nice evening and see flamenco dancer
paella was flavorless and greasy. rice was undercooked. appetizers were delicious however.
My friends and I came here for restaurant week. Soccarat was very accommodating and patient. Our waiter took the time to fully explain how restaurant week menu worked for all of us. He even explained to us the best type to get.
The location was super close to major train stations. I'd absolutely go back!
Great food no complaints. The trash smell from streets wasn’t good. We were sitting outside
Perfect experience for spending a couple hours luxuriating in someone’s company with satisfying food and a bottle of wine. Very cute vibe with string lights outdoors and plenty of space. Service was friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Food was great
It is a cute restaurant and considering we sat outside tge noise inside did not bother us.
The food was good not great. I had the Paella.
We love Socarrat, because it reminds us of our vacations in Spain. The tapas are tasty, and the paella is full of seafood.
Very great service! Bottomless brunch approved! Always a great time at any Socarrat
My second time at the Nolita location; have been to Chelsea as well.
Our party of 5 shared a variety of tapas and 2 paellas (a vegetable and a seafood), as well as a bottle of red and a bottle of white, both suggested by our waitperson, Amalia. She was excellent, as was the meal. Not a false note to be found. Perhaps a bit more than I expected, but worth it.
We sat outside on a nice evening and being a quiet street, it was delightful. My previous visit there a few years ago was indoors and not so quiet but I don't remember the noise level being a problem.
Always a wonderful dining experience at Socarrat. The food is amazing and the waitstaff are always attentive, fun, and friendly. Very consistent. I've been to this restaurant a few times now and have always had a good time. Many thanks to them all and especially to the Manager, Andres for going out of his way to make us feel at home. Socarrat is truly one of my favorites!
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and the staff was amazing.
What a wonderful restaurant! Had a great time celebrating my sister in law’s birthday. The food is delicious & the service was impeccable. Go there. You will not be disappointed.
We took our father here to commemorate him being a lung doctor and seeing over 1800 patients during the covid pandemic in 2020, we made a reservation and from the moment we got to the restaurant the hostess treated us ver rudely and gave us a very disrespectfull attitude, she sat us in the community table and after I gently requested if we could change seats she reacted annoyed, then after our food came she started coming to our table and rushing us in a way I’ve never felt before in any other restaurant, she took the paella boul without us even finished it and starting rearranging our glasses of wine and touching everything on the table, it was very uncomfortable, the waitress on the other hand was very kind. I just feel that if it wasn’t for the hostess we would have had a better experience overall. I’m not coming back to this place.
I’ve spent a lot of time in Spain. Believe it or not, the food here is actually better than most of what you get in Spain.
Wonderful service & delicious food!!
Absolutely loved this dining experience! Tuesday night live flamingo music/dancing was amazing. Food was delicious and service was superb! Highly recommend!
Expertly prepared food, excellent service and a great overall experience.
Food was excellent, as was the waitstaff. Little bit pricey
The food is absolutely delicious. From the drinks, appetizers and paella, everything was a treat!
Amazing service from Amaya! The food was great. I highly recommend the meat paella!
Father’s Day fun
Very friendly and attentive staffs and rally good service. The food was excellent! White sangria was very refreshing to start with. We loved the Galician style octopus and seafood paella. Perfect for the summer outdoor dinner.👍
Paella was good. Sangria was ok. Service was ok. Its a noisy and busy spot. The flamenco dancer should dance for the tables sitting outside as well.
I always enjoy my meal here. The staff is always very friendly, accommodating and very happy to tell you about their incredible selection.
DO NOT GET THE LOBSTER PAELLA!! It was over cooked and they didn’t even give us anything to crack the lobster with.
We had a farewell dinner for a friend, and she loved it!
The staff were lovely and accommodating, and the food and wine were delicious! Great date spot or place for girls night out.
Amazing food from start (tapas) to end (desserts). Delicious paellas!
Great food and very attentive and friendly staff!
Expensive for what we received
Amazing flamenco dancing. Should’ve booked in advance to sit closer.
Was lucky enough to get a last minute reservation here after a total fail at another restaurant. Hostess was wonderful and promptly seated us at a great table with an awesome server. Tapas were delicious, and the meat paella never fails. Excellent experience as always. Highly recommend for a fun night out with friends.
Socarrat accommodated a last-minute reservation for 7 people at a sidewalk table, and everything was amazing. Fantastic and fun service; excellent food (we ordered almost every tapa and two paellas); loved the Sangria!
Food is overall good. Good flavor. White sangria was OK. I tasted better. The Paella is OK but you must remember it is made with crunchy rice, thus the name Socarrat. Overall the place is good. No regrets.
Second time dining here. The food was absolutely amazing. We also had outstanding service from Camilo, he was very attentive. Will be dining there again in the near future.
