Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella and fideua (which substitutes fried noodles for rice) that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.
Socarrat Nolita's ambiance denotes feelings of warmth, comfort, and hospitality. Building on its sister restaurant's identity as a small, intimate space comprised primarily of one large communal table, the restaurant also offers banquet, bar and table seating.

My husband and I had your Thanksgiving dinner paella which was so good we found ourselves thinking that we'll never want to cook a Thanksgiving dinner at home again.
The Thanksgiving turkey paella was excellent. The trimmings were a Spanish version of US trimmings. The sangria and wine are always excellent. All of the employees from the host to the waiters, to the busboys were excellent and friendly. This is our second year at Socarrat (Soho) for Thanksgiving and we'll be back many times during the coming year.
My family and I had Thanksgiving dinner there recently and the noise level was kind a high. They could've turn down the music the amount of chatter going on. The food itself I would score 4 out of 5 we had to paella OK Google what is paella, I generally like it with yellow rice. Other than that everything was very good overall. I would certainly go back again and recommend it to friends and family!
Incredible service, attentive staff. Visiting from out of town, lucky to pick Tuesday “flamenco night” with a restaurant full of music, and patrons reveling in the festive atmosphere. Food was brought quickly, and was flavorful.
This is a loud and rambunctious and festive restaurant which I recommend strongly.

Menu at restaurant said described lamb skewerS (plural). When ordered turned out to be a single skewer for $16. Not. good value.

We held a team outing at Socarrat on a Thursday night and had the best time! The service was amazing and sincere, and food was to die for. This was the perfect spot for our team of 8 and loved that we were able to share family style.
Yummy vegan paella. I thought the tapas were good but not great. There is flamenco every Tuesday, which was very fun (but hard to talk during it)
Very close to other patrons which was a bit distracting and loud but food was amazing as always.

We had the Paella Seafood was good but the rice wasn't flavorful at all.
Wonderful service but the vegetable paella was bland an we paid $12 extra for chicken (3 portions) and we got about 6 1” chunks
The paella Socarrat was burnt not carmelized.
With restaurants opening up a bit scary that they turn the music up loud and everyone ends up shouting what a great way to spread the virus

Great tapas selection. Fantastic service! Our server — Amaya — was awesome: friendly, present but not overbearing, and very familiar and helpful with all the menus options. She is also an opera singer and so shocked us with her beautiful bellowing of Happy Birthday at the table next to us. As for the food??? Every one of our dozen small plates delighted, especially the short ribs, pulpit/octopus, and everything paella. We will be back!
I've brought many people here over the years. They all walk away impressed. Never fails to satisfy.
We had a blast at dinner! Service was impeccable, our waitress was on point! (Forgot her name, Latina with black hair) We brought some friends that we haven’t seen in a while to catch up. They were also amazed by the food and service. Will be back soon.

This place is amazing! The staff was so awesome, and the food was seriously SO. GOOD!! Everything we ordered was delicious, we couldn’t believe it. The scallops and the carne paella were the best, and they have this dessert cake thing that is to die for! Seriously, go here! You won’t regret it.
This is one of the best Spanish restaurants in NYC. It has a full list of excellent tapas. It now offers about 6 excellent paella running from vegetarian to multiple types of sea food. It gas excellent desserts. It has a lovely inside restaurant and a comfortable outside area. And on the weekend it has an excellent brunch. If you don't know Spanish food its worth a try. If you love Spanish food you will enjoy this restaurant.
Food was awesome. Paella in the tristate area. Service as incredible friendly and extremely attentive. We were not rushed for our table and had an amazing time.
The owners there are the sweetest and absolutely amazing. The food itself was mouth watering but the whole experience was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!
Socarrat was great! We had so much fun trying all the different dishes that the staff recommended. The cocktails and wine were excellent also. And of course the paella was outstanding -- but we already knew that! Very pleasant outdoor seating makes for a great experience on a warm evening. We will be back for sure!
Fresh food but not very well seasoned and rather bland. Great service though.
My wife and I went there before an early movie. We ordered off the Tapas menu. Everything we tried was delicious. We are making plans to return soon for the paella. Wait staff was great. Took the time to tell us about each dish.

This is the second time we came back. If you just look at the menu, you may think it to be pricey, but when you add the quality of the food and service it becomes moderate, in my eyes. It is a must try.
Everything here is delicious! Service was terrible - they seemed understaffed so that maybe have been the issue, but we had a ton of questions and no one to answer them :/ Good place to go if you’ve been before and know what you like, but don’t expect help from anyone.
My server was excellent and the food was very good - those are the only reasons I didn’t walk out.
I came to Socarrat after seeing their poster for Flamenco on Tuesdays. I confirmed with the manager what seating would be appropriate for being able to see the performance (indoor only), and made a reservation. We were seated in a corner where only one of us barely had a sight line. When my date confirmed with the hostess that we’d be able to see the performance, she flippantly responded “you can see some of it”. Rather than move us to an empty table with a sight line, she sat us in the corner.
I inquired with my server if we could be moved to the empty table- he checked with the hostess who responded “no we cannot”. Overhearing, I asked why- she responded that it was reserved for another party who had priority because they came to see flamenco. I shared that we were also here for the flamenco and that we should have priority for already being there where as the other reservation had yet to show - That was at 7:15…
I had the same conversation with the manager and they attempted to seat us in the middle of a large communal table rather than give us the empty one. After declining that offer for the proximity to other diners, I remained where we were seated with the promise that if the reservation didn’t show up within 10 mins of their 7:30 reservation, it would be given to me. I inquired again at 7:50 and the manager asked that we give them until 8pm. The diners eventually showed up at 8pm for their 7:30 reservation and did not once turn to watch the show.
I will never come back. The lack of grace demonstrated by the manager and hostess ruined what should have been a special night. Flamenco started at 7:15 and a diner who made a reservation was told he could not have an empty table for another reservation because they specifically requested any seat to see the show- yet they missed half the show!
The manager could have comped us drinks or a desert - no hospitality
