Socarrat Paella Bar - Midtown East
Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella and fideua (which substitutes fried noodles for rice) that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.
Our Midtown location, the most recent addition to the Socarrat family, displays a lively atmosphere that is perfect for small and big groups alike. Book your next party in our private dining room!

bacon, baked eggs, cheddar cheese, tomato sofrito
crispy and creamy croquettes of the day
It’s.a nice place . Check in was very friendly, and service very good.good wines by the glass. We had pan tomate, really good, and huevos rotos. Poached eggs. They were good , but in Spain rotos means “ broke” not poached.
Good times tapas & friends. Excellent black rice paella and grilled octopus. Many other choices. Corkage fee is cool.
I'm Spanish and I really enjoy it! I missed croquetas de jamón, but everything was delicious.
Great neighborhood Tapas restaurant. Excellent food and service. A little pricey, but not too bad
The tapas and the paella were outstanding. A great meal.
All was great... the service provided by Juan and Mercedes was superb!!!!
It's a very good neighborhood place for Spanish food
The table upstairs on the balcony was perfect for a lunch meeting. It was not busy and not noisy. The service was excellent and the food was awesome!
Delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommended.
This was our second time at Socarrat in midtown East and the food has been amazing each time. This time we had tapas and drinks outside and it was so fun. Highly recommend this place.
Amazing food! We did 4 tapas and 2 servings of paella and were more than satisfied. Our favorite tapa was the croqueta! Pitcher of sangria de cava was worth.
festive place with warm friendly service. order lots of tapas. delicious and fun. suckling pig, dates, albondigas, croquettes, brussels sprouts, shrimp. amazing. great martini. beautiful paella. somewhat loud party atmosphere.
The food was very poorly prepared - especially the paella. And the cocktails were worse than mediocre. I’ve dined at Socarrat many times, never had a bad meal or cocktail before.
Love this place it’s my restaurant place in town. Great food amazing sangria. Love the outdoor terrace
The very best Paella I have eaten. I have been here several times now, my husband and my friends have also enjoyed the fabulous food, service and atmosphere!
My second time there and the food was delicious and the service was great!
Food is delicious, service outstanding, atmosphere very comfortable and friendly.
Food was delicious. We went for Brunch. The server was very nice. However, the kitchen needs help. They didn't cook the eggs the way they were requested and they also served the wrong brunch order for one of our party and she had to wait another 15 minutes for them to first make what she had ordered.
Great little spot for an intimate friends’ dinner. Ordered anchovies which were amazing, however, the paella was very under-seasoned. Drinks were good and ambiance was inviting.
Outdoor seating was pleasant all thing considered. Would recommend.
Excellent. Service couldn’t do enough for you.
The food and service were absolutely outstanding!
I love it here.
Great experience! Delicious food
We came in for dinner!! We ordered tapas, and a paella!! Every thing was amazing!!! We eat at a lot of Tapas restaurants, but have to say this was great!! We will be back again!! Owner stopped over to talk with us then sat with us!! So nice!!
Easter dinner with one of my oldest friends and my mom- tapas, we shared 6 things and it was not only exquisitely prepared, but everything came out fresh and rolled out in batches! A memorable meal, to which I will return to try the veggie paella (I’m not such a shellfish fan...yet!). Our host was Italian, charming, and the service was efficient and warm. Thanks for a great evening, Socarrat!
Food was excellent. Had tapas during happy hour, which were half price. It was tapas heaven! All safety measures were in place, with lots of space and plastic dividers between tables. Had a great meal and would definitely go back!
Manager and owner (I believe that’s who they were) should wear masks all the time. One of them had a bandanna that kept falling off his face and behind the bar he did not have it on at all. That was So unprofessional during a pandemic
Service was courteous and pleasant at all times. The black rice paella did not disappoint. The croquetas were just delicious.
As always, great food beautifully prepared!! Have introduced my friends and family to this place.
Came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday, brought the kids too and everyone had a pleasant time. We were seated in the patio and felt safe! The paella is delicious and the sangria and churros are a must. Very friendly staff and had a nice evening!
Delicious paella and waiter was super nice!
The paella wonderfully reminiscent of seaside Barcelona dining in pre-COVID times.
Great first time experience! Visiting from San Francisco. The first weekend sans reopening indoor dining. The service was impeccable and the paella was phenomenal. The only thing better was dining with my sister who lives here! Haven’t been able to visit in a while.
It was a very enjoyable nite out. Food was great. Good sangria
Delicious food portions are smaller than most restaurants now but the portion size was perfect for no leftovers. Waiter was very attentive had the Bottomless mimosas and never had to ask for refill,, They just kept refilling
Fantastic brunch foods along with some favorite tapas
Great food. Friendly. Accommodating. Covid protocols adhered to.
Excellent persil, pulpo, and brussel sprouts!! Highly recommended!
