Socarrat Paella Bar - Midtown East
Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella and fideua (which substitutes fried noodles for rice) that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.
Our Midtown location, the most recent addition to the Socarrat family, displays a lively atmosphere that is perfect for small and big groups alike. Book your next party in our private dining room!

One of my favorite Spanish restaurants in the city.
The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was good but not exceptional. We enjoyed ourselves regardless. The vegetable napolean was bland. The short ribs on the pureed squash was very good. The juice for the mussels was also very good and the mussels were a nice size. The crispy brussel sprouts were delicious. It was just not the most interesting tapas ever. I do want to come back for the paella. We needed another person for me to share with.
Phenomenal food!!! Drinks are delicious! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Delicious tapas, and paella. Have come here w groups, and 1:1 with my partner or a girlfriend. Always a good meal. Bonus - they have some outdoor seating and take reservations.
There’s no better place in Manhattan for Spanish food. The restaurant is lively, the service is great and the paella’s are awesome. The sangria pitchers were yummy and the tapas menu (our appetizers) are extensive and delish. Can’t wait to return!
I’ve been here before and the food and service was much better. I’ll give them the benefit that it was a Saturday night but I still expected more
Very tasty! And a clear step up in food quality from the past. A few consistently great meals!
The tapas - Outstanding!
The paella - Transcendent!
Loving on the Socarrat!!!
Consistently the best !!! Service and food are outstanding !
I absolutely loved this place! Going to go back time after time after time, again. I highly recommend the sangria!
Wonderful service & very enjoyable meal
The food was tasty. The staff was friendly and the service was good.
Great food and service. No checking for vaccine even though there is a posted sign.
Outstanding service and delicious food!
Thank you very much!
Amazing service and ambiance. We sat outside, which we had a perfect night for, and the noise level was extremely low which was very conducive for great a conversation. The food was phenomenal, we shared the croquettes, dates and carne paella. Simply fantastic. Will be back next time we are in NYC.
It was great!
If you like to eat Paella and tapas this is the place.
Great location and service.
First time back since the apocalypse. This was our favorite paella spot and was hugely looking forward to enjoying both the food and the night. Well, we couldn’t have been more disappointed. The paella was a complete failure, the rice wasn’t crispy, the mussels tasted very fishy (which many times denotes being less then fresh) the calamari was nothing short of rubber, overall the dish lacked flavor or a personality!! Unfortunately the pandemic continues to infect businesses along with people. We won’t return
The food is delicious here! The paella is definitely the go-to, but if you are running late on time, all of the items are amazing. We went for brunch and it did not disappoint.
The owner is the most friendly and welcoming person I’ve ever met to own a restaurant . I’m a huge foodie and this place was absolutely insane…from the food to the service. Everyone should go!
Tapas-The Brussel sprouts were quite good. The short rib with butternut squash purée was also good.
We were very disappointed in the paella-he
La atención y cómida fue espectacular
It was my birthday and thank u for everything
Paella was fantastic! Some of the other dishes were pretty good. Service needs a bit of improvement. Sometimes it got too noisy to hear my companions.
Fantastic as always. More AC would make it a perfect experience.
The service was great, we ate on the balcony hence the slight noise, but the food was great and the service stellar. Our waiter was very attentive, very professional. Loved him. The food was delicious without being pretentious. I would definitely go back.
Delicious apps, paella was good not great, service excellent, bar staff great, request outdoor balcony seating definitely.
great paella in an authentic decor. awesome small plates.
We have been here a few times previosuly. We sat outside upstairs. The brunch was its usual self - delicious. Our waiter was very accommodating and when my husband's aunt whispered to him to give her the check as it was our anniversary, he left and came back with three small glasses of sparkling wine. So nice. We will be back again.
the food is just ordinary nothing really special, more than half an hour before someone came to get our order for drinks, another half before they took our order for food, good thing my company were busy catching up with each other so I didn’t even notice how long the food took to be served, the server was nice and that made up for the wait. Food is 3/5 service is 2/3 because if the wait
Fabulous in every way. Would highly recommend
First time dining and we love Socarrat. Very authentic Spanish food, best paella I have eaten outside Spain. Also, great Sangria, which I am usually hesitant to order.
Lolo serves some of the best and most authentic Spanish cuisine in NY. It was great running into him (it's been years since we last saw him @ El Nacional). Great food, relaxing atmosphere, good value - what's not to love?
Loved it! The place, the setup, the service, the music and of course the food!!! We will be back!!
Excellent food & service . The $25.00 lunch special is a bargain ! Can’t wait to go back!
I recommend this place for friends gathering or casual lunch. The food was delicious.
