Socarrat Paella Bar - Midtown East
Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella and fideua (which substitutes fried noodles for rice) that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.
Our Midtown location, the most recent addition to the Socarrat family, displays a lively atmosphere that is perfect for small and big groups alike. Book your next party in our private dining room!

Very charming place. Only one problem: some of the food came out much later than the other, but overall very good food and service.
The paella and service were spectacular! Special shout out to the octopus starter
This was our last and best New York meal before heading back to Denver. The space was warm and inviting, the service was exceptional, and the paella was as good as it is in Barcelona. A special thank you to our server Patricia who made us feel so welcome.
Good Thanksgiving Meal! Turkey Paella was delicious
The service is very good. And the wine and tapas are awesome!!
Do your self a favor and enjoy a delicious meal here. We loved the thanksgiving pre-fixe and can’t recommend it highly enough!
The upstairs dining was wonderful and the tapas was yummy. Kurt behaved well - what more could a dad want. The Alberino was deliciously dry. Service was flawless.
Amazing dinner! We enjoyed excellent red sangria, tapas, and paella! Continues to be one of our favorite places to dine in NYC!
The staff are all fabulous.! Great welcoming us, wonderful, attentive and caring service. The food plentiful ,authentic and delicious
Extraordinary service and delicious food. The serving sizes of the tapas is terrific- much bigger servings than other tapas places I've been to.
Very expensive for what you get. Food is not bad, ambiance is mediocre, plus loud, bad pop music from the 1980's. Not recommended.
Hello Richard, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for the loud noise. The holiday season is our most vivacious time, so with that may come loud guests and unintentionally loud music. Upon request, we can gladly relocate guests and/or lower the music at certain points of the restaurant. While our pricing is in line with Midtown East / Turtle Bay, we're more than happy to hear any suggestions regarding how we can provide more value to our guests. We hope to see you again!
The food was delicious! Also the happy hour drinks (we loved sangria). We didn't like however the margaritas - they had some (for us) rather unusual aftertaste. Though, without any doubt, we will be back as everything else was great!
it's very hard to find a genuine spanish tapas place; this place is ok
Best Paella in New York. Lively fun place to meet a friend
Started with a watered down Sangria, boring tapas and unappealing paella with undercooked rice !!
We dined here twice and tried numerous items items from their menu, the food was all fabulous! The service was even better, Patricia is a gem that is worth her weight in gold! You must try Socarrat!!
Happy hour is the way to go! So delicious, best to do the tapas family style!
We went for lunch and had a great meal. Sat outside- that’s the only reason it was loud!
One of my favorite Spanish restaurants in the city.
The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was good but not exceptional. We enjoyed ourselves regardless. The vegetable napolean was bland. The short ribs on the pureed squash was very good. The juice for the mussels was also very good and the mussels were a nice size. The crispy brussel sprouts were delicious. It was just not the most interesting tapas ever. I do want to come back for the paella. We needed another person for me to share with.
Phenomenal food!!! Drinks are delicious! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Delicious tapas, and paella. Have come here w groups, and 1:1 with my partner or a girlfriend. Always a good meal. Bonus - they have some outdoor seating and take reservations.
There’s no better place in Manhattan for Spanish food. The restaurant is lively, the service is great and the paella’s are awesome. The sangria pitchers were yummy and the tapas menu (our appetizers) are extensive and delish. Can’t wait to return!
The tapas were so incredible. We had a plethora and each and every one was absolutely delicious. You can’t go wrong! And the staff was amazing. We had the best time! Can’t wait to go back!!
I’ve been here before and the food and service was much better. I’ll give them the benefit that it was a Saturday night but I still expected more
Very tasty! And a clear step up in food quality from the past. A few consistently great meals!
The tapas - Outstanding!
The paella - Transcendent!
Loving on the Socarrat!!!
A very enjoyable night. Waiter was extremely attentive and helpful. the Socarrat paella was delicious. def would go back.
Consistently the best !!! Service and food are outstanding !
I absolutely loved this place! Going to go back time after time after time, again. I highly recommend the sangria!
Wonderful service & very enjoyable meal
The food was tasty. The staff was friendly and the service was good.
Great food and service. No checking for vaccine even though there is a posted sign.
Outstanding service and delicious food!
Thank you very much!
Amazing service and ambiance. We sat outside, which we had a perfect night for, and the noise level was extremely low which was very conducive for great a conversation. The food was phenomenal, we shared the croquettes, dates and carne paella. Simply fantastic. Will be back next time we are in NYC.
It was great!
