Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella and fideua (which substitutes fried noodles for rice) that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.

The food was absolutely amazing and staff was great!
Lovely spot! Food was delicious and the staff were very attentive! Highly recommend for a cute date spot, or probably good for groups as well. The street is quiet, so makes for an intimate occasion.
Food was terrific and the service was great. They have a really nice outdoor patio with a plastic roof over it and heat lamps if it’s cold. We came for a birthday, and we would go again!
Never disappoints. they take care of their guests very well and the food continues to be delicious and authentic.
We sat in the Garden, because my friend forgot her Vax Proof and it was a bit noisy, but lovely. The food was fantastic as always!
Appetisers were good and came in a promptly manner. The croquettes and brussel sprouts were delicious. The paella, however, was burnt, and tasted burnt. Understandably, socarrat should be a little stickier and overcooked than regular paella, but it should not taste burnt. The churros were also very underwhelming. Service was okay - the waiters were attentive and friendly, but sometimes a bit slow, which was weird considering the place wasn’t full.
Food were excellent, we had one of the best paella, comparable to the paella we had in Spain. Very good services, however, the price was on the higher side, compare to many other restaurants serving Spanish cuisine.
Everything was on-point. Great table, food was delicious, our waiter was attentive and very hospitable and we had an amazing time. Missed this spot. We’ll be back.
Delightful lamb, black truffle, mushroom, and asparagus Paella special tonight. Service spot on, lovely evening for outdoor dining and great value for the quality of the food amd experience.
Wonderful outdoor space in the back patio. Heated if necessary. The service was impeccable and very caring. We had short rib appetizer which was incredibly tender and delicious and of course the traditional Soccarat paella. Very authentic with a great crisp on the rice and filled with generous portions of shellfish, chicken, chorizo. Will be back.
authentic spanish tapas spot. the paella looked pretty although the flavor was quite bland . needed garlic , butter etc. . disappointing
Delicious paella, great ambience and service!
It’s a good thing my date was so hot because the paella was cold!!
Great service. Great birthday. Favorite restaurant in NYC!
Socarrat is amazing, the food is delicious and it reminds me of all I ate during my visit to Spain. The service is beyond great and the Cava Sangria is amazing. You will not go wrong here if you want a nice dinner with family, friends, or just hang with your girlfriends. I have two young girls and they love it here. No matter the occasion this is the right place. Best paellas I’ve had outside of Spain.
We had a nice time for our dinner. Our service was good and the food was a nice difference from the typical . The short rib appetizer was amazing !
I had never been to Scarrat before and was so pleasantly surprised. It really exceeded my expectations since I didn't really know if Spanish food was my thing. I would love to have had the time to sample the Paella but since we were attending a performance at the Joyce nearby, we had tapas instead which were all divine. Really delicious. I highly recommend.
The squid ink paella…. Sooooo goood. Throw in a bunch of other delicious tapas and tasty sangria and it’s always a good time.
Enjoyed some nice wine and tapas tonight
We loved our meal at Soccarrat. The Sardines with almonds are a yummy starter. The Paella is DELICIOUS! And the Sangria Rioja was the perfect beverage - order the carafe! Note that you pay per serving for paella (ie per person). We will definitely be back! Thank you.
The best paella I know of in NYC, fresh and expertly prepared, complemented by a small but well-matched selection of affordable Spanish wines, friendly and efficient service, and a leisurely vibe.
The tapas were good. Waiter forgot to bring the 3rd tapa out. The paella was good, but it came out cold. They had to reheat it. They didn’t serve bread. The waiter wasn’t paying attention, and he could easily be considered rude. The place wasn’t even full, probably at 1/4 of operation. We went there for recommendation. Maybe it was just the Chelsea location. I wouldn’t personally go back.
Awesome time. Delicious food and quick service and food. Loved our time!!! Andres was a great server. Thank you!!! We’ll definitely be back
Delicious paella, tapas and sangria. Great service!
Delicious paella and good drinks, must go! Cute atmosphere
By far the best Tapas we have had! Ordered 8 different plates and each one was amazing. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back!
The service was impeccable here! The staff members are wonderful! The food and drinks were also delicious!
Eat paella in town
Everything we ordered was fantastic & the service was phenomenal
We sat outside and enjoyed an excellent dinner consisting of tapas and paella. We cannot wait to return.
Tapas and wine are very good here. Service is excellent. Paella seemed a bit "tired." would recommend for tapas.
We were in town to see a Broadway show. Back patio was so sweet, and private, pretty. Everything was fabulous. Will def come back again.
We had a great experience dining at Socarrat Paella Bar at Chelsea. Very welcoming ambience, recommend it to meet with friends or family.
White sangria was delicious. Tapas were great and the Paella did not disappoint us. Excellent customer service. We will definitely go back soon.
Food excellent! Ambiance excellent! Staff very helpful too. Definitely recommend dinner there.
Felt like I was back in Barcelona with the vibe and food. We will be back!
Delicious food and great service! great for the family gatherings!
Incredibly yummy food and drinks. We had perfec
The food and the service were exceptional .
Diego and Daniel were excellent waiters.
One hundred percent recommend!!!
Thought the restaurant menu would be available when I made the reservation and it was recently updated to exclude saturdays. They should have honored it but did not. The bill came out to be $164 for 2 ppl. It is what it is but a little annoyed.
