Sobo's is one of our favorites. The calamari was a little under cooked this time, it could have been fried a little longer. The steak frites was amazing. There were 6 of us so I know it was a lot to handle, but our waiter had no personality. We tried to be playful & friendly with him & he didn't crack a smile once the entire evening. I paid for 2 people & he got $18 in tip from us alone. He probably earned about a $60 tip from the entire table, so he could have put forth a little effort to be friendly. However, he was very prompt & thorough, I just like my wait staff to have somewhat of a personality. This has been my only issue there. It's an amazing restaurant. One of the best in Salisbury. Thank you for another great meal.
What a surprise find in Salisbury near the University! The food - every entree ordered - was excellent in presentation and taste and we had a great server as well. The wines were pretty expensive and not as extensive by the glass but by the bottle there were many options. The brussel sprout appetizer was amazing as was the dessert! We will definitely be back and plan to make this a stop every time we are in Salisbury. It's in a location behind RiseUp off West College that does not seem like a place to put an upscale bistro - but DO NOT skip over this place - it is SOOO worth it!
Delicious food with a great wine selection
The scallops with bacon jam and the crab cake were stand outs
This was a wonderful evening for us. Crab dip and entrees (both salmon) were served promptly and were delicious. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was delicious but did push the price up a bit. Worth it though. We will definitely be back.
Sobo's has never disappointed me yet. Food is always fantastic, service is always good and they have a really good wine selection.
Great book club lunch. Stayed for 2 hours and enjoyed a delicious meal with friends
The food at Sobo's was outstanding. Everything was fresh and well plated. Our server was courteous and accommodating. I will make a return visit and will highly recommend this restaurant to more of my friends and relatives.
We went for Valentines day dinner. It was a special menu and all our choices were delicious. My friend had never been before and said he was definitely coming back.
Excellent blackened salmon over a Jasmine rice with spinach
Very tasty! Green beans slightly undercooked. Rack of lamb- perfect! Desserts could be more creative.
This was our first visit. Food and service was pretty good. Interesting and delicious cheese board selections. Enjoyed the surf and turf pasta. Salmon entree was good also. The Smith Island layer cake was small for sharing but very delicious. A tavern type atmosphere. Will return.
Consistently great! We are new to the area and this has become one of our favorite spots.
Ashley was very attentive and made the whole dining experience pleasurable
I was surprised there were so few gluten free or vegan options (2 salads only) The craft cocktail was very skimpy and over iced. the entrees were very good however and the fish was cooked perfectly. The wine list is also very interesting.
this was a terrible dining experience. when I mad e reservations on Open Table I indicated it was for a birthday celebration. Our server was surly and inappropriate. We were seated and immediately she wanted our drink order. My husband ordered a “Yingling”, our friends ordered wine and a coke. I had it made up my mind. The drinks were brought and my husbands beer was not cold. He notified our server who picked up the beer and said “you don’t think this is cold.” Wrong, wrong, wrong. Obviously he didn’t didn’t or he would not have said it wasn’t cold. Her attitude was completely inappropriate. A lot of time passed and he still did not have a cold beer. I asked another server if she could help us. A few minutes later our server appeared with the same opened bottle of beer and said “we put this on ice and we chilled the glass.”
Same opened bottle of beer. Why would you not give him a new chilled bottled of Yingling. She then pressured us to order. Quite frankly we were so disgusted with her attitude, we placed a quick order. My impression was the food was overpriced and not very good.
I was really looking forward to a nice birthday celebration and Sobo’s did not deliver. They have lost four customers.
Outstanding dinner. They have come a long way since they opened and really is one of the best restaurants around and would hold up in any city well. If you haven't been recently definitely give them another try. We loved it!
Great as always! I would highly recommend it to friends and visitors.
Sobo is my favorite restaurant in all of Maryland. The food is always fresh, creative and delicious. I took an out-of-town friend for dinner and we shared a medley of appetizers, which was more than enough for the meal - deconstructed ahi tuna roll, roasted Brussels sprouts with mandarin slices, Buffalo cauliflower and roasted beet salad. All were wonderful, but the beet salad was outstanding. It had all the flavors in one simple dish with a peppery bite from the arugula, the slight tang of the goat cheese, sweetness of the beets and acid of the light dressing. Our waitress was excellent. I highly recommend this gem.
Great food- perfect service- very nice setting
Excellent service, very personable. Waitress was also excellent. Food was top notch although pricing was a little high. Ambiance and noise level co-exist. Although the overall ambiance was nice, it was so loud that you could not talk across the table. So Energetic translates to very loud.
The food is a bit salty. Cesar Salad was good. I was a bit disappointed because the foods was tasty in the past.
I like this place a lot and the food is usually outstanding.
Outstanding as always. Great service and food. Love the risotto with rockfish and crab!
The only negative was that I waited about 15 minutes to just get water - I had to get up and ask a server. And had to ask if they’d come and take my drink and appetizer order.
What was odd is that two servers were constantly in the small 5-10 table dining room. I kept trying to get their attention- it was like I was invisible. While I was waiting for a friend (who ended up not being able to come), I still shouldn’t have had to just sit there.
That said, from that point forward the staff was wonderful - friendly and attentive. The manager even came over to apologize, which was really appreciated.
Because my friend couldn’t make it - I ended up just having a drink and the crab dip. The dip was unbelievable - get it!
Buffalo Cauliflower was superb. Martini was the only really weak link; but that's what I get for ordering one in a beer and wine bar.
Have dined here before but are from out of town - Enjoyed sharing this gem with friends & had a great meal!!!
Excellent food & selection of beer and wine, great service and good ambiance. What more do you need?
Food was good, but service was not. Usually love the service but our server didn't seem to want to be working tonight. Miss some creative specials, but good. Tuna was fantastic!!
We were in town for A national dog shoe and just googled restaurants. The reviews looked great and could see the menu before. The staff was so nice, honored reservation on time, and Kayla, our server, was one the the best we have ever had. We go out a lot!. The good will be worth taking a three hour drive for in the near future!
Excellent as always. Friendly staff and fantastic food. The weekly featured items are always varied and delicious and the seasonal menu is awesome.
Dining at Sobos is always a pleasant experience. Unlike other restaurants in the area, their menu changes with the seasons- in addition to daily specials. The wine selection is terrific, as are their cocktails. Be sure to try the watermelon cooler if you come in the summer: fabulous!
This was the first time we had been there in a while. My wife and I were disappointed. The food was ok but not worth the price charged. We had scallops. Three small scallops were on the plate. The price was $32! Hardly merited a cost of almost $11 per piece. The service was fair only. The waitress played with her hair almost constantly. Ambiance is average. It was quiet and allowed for conversation. The host was friendly enough. Overall, the experience wasn't worthwhile when there are many better restaurants a short drive away.
Loved it! Wonderful to find such a place in Salisbury-kind&courteous server, excellent food - 5 different plates & all plates went back to the kitchen clean! Same with dessert. Superb dining experience in Salisbury for a fair price.
We brought my parents here for a small celebratory dinner. The food was phenomenal. I had the shrimp and crab scampi - the best pasta dish I have ever had - anywhere. My husband and step-father had steak (filet and ny strip special). Both raved about the quality. My mom had the salmon which also said was delicious. Our server was also outstanding - wish I could remember her name. We will be back soon!
The food was very well prepared and had a beautiful presentation.
I had the scallops---my all-time favorite! Accommodations were made due to my gluten-free diet, by substituting mashed potatoes for the pasta. Will you bring back the scallops with mashed and succotash in the fall? Food was great; wine was perfect!
My husband had rockfish (I think) over risotto. He was pleased with his dish also.
We like the idea of fresh veggies, fresh seafood, and organic food overall.
An enjoyable evening! Service was excellent. Food yummy. Would love more variety in cocktails.
Usually very good, it as crazy about the selections this time, found the dishes a bit greasy. Lots of excess oil??
Great service, nice atmosphere (especially the back room) and real good food
