SO Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
WE CAME ON A SATURDAY EVENING !THIS PLACE WAS RECOMMENDED TO US . WHEN WE ARRIVED ,THE ENTRANCE IS IN THE BAR AREA .IT HAS A CEMENT FLOOR AND BRICK WALLS. IT WAS VERY NOISY. WE HAD TO USE THE RESTROOMS AND DISCOVERED THERE WAS ONLY ONE FOR THE WHOLE RESTAURANT. THE MEN AND WOMEN BOTH USED THIS ONE REST ROOM. THE MENU WAS WRIITEN IN SMALL PRINT AND VERY HARD TO READ. IT WAS ALSO A LITTLE DIRTY. THE SELECTION WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED ON THERE WEB SITE. SEVERAL ITEMS WERE NOT THERE. THE FOOD WAS REALLY NOT WORTH THE PRICE . THE POTOES WERE UNDER COOKED. THEY HAD FLAT NOODLES SUBSTITUTED FOR THE LINGUINI. THE CHICKEN WAS TO TOUGH TO CUT. WE HAD TO ASK FOR BREAD. IT WASN'T VERY MUCH OR VERY GOOD. THE WAITRESS NEVER OFFERED US DESERT. I GAVE IT A 2 STAR . I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A 1 STAR .
This was our first visit. The three of us may not be real foodies but we’ve tried enough restaurants to know a good one when we find one. Two chicken Marsala and a vegetarian dish were our entrees. We were pleased with the quality and presentation. The jewel was the chocolate box dessert. It was a chocoholic dream. This neighborhood gem is worth a visit.
The food at this restaurant was very good, but honestly for the money I paid for a meal and the service I received, I'd say this restaurant is highly over priced and overrated. We had dinner after 7 on a Friday night and the place was dead- yet our server was not very attentive and came by periodically. Also, he took away our wine menu after one drink, leading to us having to request it again when our entree was brought to us- I normally wouldn't let this bother me, but for the amount of money you spend on a meal for two here (which is well over $200 after tip) I expected more.
I was so looking forward to dining here, but ended up being so disappointed. We were in little rock to stay with friends and dined here before the Guns N Roses concert. I made reservations, but my local friends were kind of excited as they said this USED to be their fave restaurant but no longer was because of the prices...they wanted to give it another chance. Well the lobster tail was $80 (I didn't realize I had been transported to Boston, NYC or Miami where that would be normal). But I don't usually skimp where good food is concerned. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an app...which was good. After that we ordered 2 of the beef specials, a salmon dish and something else I cant remember other than the plate had a short curly hair on it...which ruined the meal for the rest of us so we didn't eat. The manager comped a round of drinks for our troubles, but honestly I feel like the whole meal would be comped. All in all...bad experience and wont dine here again. I will skip posting the pic of the hair on my friends plate.
Hidden gem in Little Rock. Was passing through and this was nearby. Very charming atmosphere with server who was extremely accommodating and cheerful. Adorable sun room that was well air conditioned for midday lunch. Soup of the day was cioppino and it was incredible; perfect amount of shellfish. Crab cake was a new menu item apparently and left me wanting more: there was an unreasonable amount of breading in the crab cake. My guest had the turkey club packed full of real turkey breast (not lunch meat) and perfectly cooked bacon. Value was amazing. Very low prices. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Recently had dinner with my wife for her birthday. Manager and staff were excellent. They even arranged the flowers I purchased and brought with me in a vase as part of the special table presentation for the occasion. They really went above and beyond. The food is always excellent. Great steaks and always properly prepared according to our preference. A bit pricy but well worth it.
We went to this restaurant as our One Year Wedding Anniversary location and we loved it! The service was so amazing. They took off the champagne and desert that we ordered, which was greatly appreciated. Our waiter, Will, was just so amazing. Would go there again and again!
SO is a dependably good restaurant. I felt they were a little off when we dined this time. The big miss, quite a surprise, was the Caprese salad. It's July, so my dining partner expected a fantastic heirloom tomato. What came to the table was like a tasteless December grocery store tomato. I hope SO can return to the high standard I associate them with. Service was fantastic as always. Do give them a try.
We were at the restaurant for the first time in several years last Thursday evening for a date night. We had the absolute best time - food was fabulous - drinks were fabulous - ambience was perfect and we had the best waiter EVER! We had such a wonderful time that we went back this Monday night for a late Father's Day dinner. It was a totally different place - it was empty, no specials, no oysters, all out of the dessert we had had on Thursday and a different server who was not friendly and was inattentive.
I highly recommend the Thursday night version of So, but my Monday night experience was extremely disappointing.
Date night at So Restaurant was perfect. Loved the quaint atmosphere in the sunroom. The red snapper special was outstanding along with the wine pairing. Our waiter was friendly, helpful and attentive - perfect. Tres leches dessert was incredible and large enough for 4 to share! My new favorite restaurant!
I find SO friendly, welcoming with consistently very good food and interesting choices. The wine list is exceptional. The ambiance is charming and intimate. We like to go before our reservation and sit at the bar for a wonderful cocktail. We often end up meeting new friendly folk at the bar and carry on interesting conversations. The owner has gone out of her way to find us just the right seating for our groups. Needless to say, we love it there.
This restaurant should be renamed So So! Went for Mother's Day brunch so disappointing. First of all this restaurant is not set up for a buffet. Some things placed on the bar . Very stingy with the meat at the carving station . Could not have been cut any thinner. Small selection of food. Dessert selection was a couple of cookies. I will say that the food they did have was tasty. Would not go back.
Group of 10 with another large group in a different part of the restaurant so the service was a little spotty at times - and we understand why. Two nearby tables of 4 seemed to get good service. The food was absolutely amazing. The best mussels I've ever eaten as an appetizer. Unique antipasto. The special of the day was a grilled fresh trout dish. The menu was simple yet satisfying selection of entrees. The have a dessert there that feeds four called The Chocolate Box. Best dessert in Little Rock hands down.
We visited SO on our 24th wedding anniversary for dinner. It was a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the Chef's Special that evening which was a blackened filet covered in garlic butter and topped with a crab cake on a bed of mashed garlic herb potatoes and grilled asparagus. The medium rare preparation was spot on and the flavors were rich and sumptuous. My wife had a ribeye which was way more than she could eat! Dinner was concluded with the Chocolate Sack desert. It is pure decadence on a plate!
The staff were warm and attentive. I had mentioned our anniversary when booking through OpenTable and they had a private spot reserved for us. They even comp'ed us our desert. While the dinner was "SO" delicious, it was also "SO" expensive, but then it was "SO" worth it!
Our review is mixed. The restaurant was very nice we enjoyed being able to have a conversation without having to yell to be heard. That is a huge plus. Service was good. The cocktail was nice. The food was mixed. The soup was fabulous but the pork chop was very chewey so I couldn't eat much of it. The plate looked nice but I was very disappointed. My husband loved the fish. It was very pricey and if my dinner had been better we wouldn't have minded the cost. I don't think we would go back. And we probably wouldn't recommend to friends. It could have been a fluke, But $150 for two people and not thrilled...probably not.
