SO Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Our experience at So was outstanding. The food was creative and incredible, the service was top notch and the restaurant itself was pleasantly quiet while at the same just enough ambient music for us to be able to converse privately. The staff was genuinely excited about the menu, and our dishes were expertly executed. We will definitely be going back to So sooner than later.
Very disappointed in the small menu!!! I understand scaling things back but it did not represent very many palates. We struggled with what we might order. 1 beef, 1 seafood, and 1 vegan option???? Really that’s it’s???? Had I seen it prior I would have canceled our NYE reservations!!!!! The worst part is the food was not very good. The appetizers were the best part of the meal, and they were great!!!! Seafood bisque had a weeks worth of salt, the prime rib was average and that’s including the Las Vegas buffets prime rib. Desert was pulled off a pre made rack!
Although we frequent So more often, this night was another of my family's Christmas eve's at So (now a running >5year tradition). Used Open Table to make the reservation, which is essentially early for a holiday. They were very obliged to honor my request for the "front room by the window", which is much better than the back enclosed patio. Service was a little confusing at first, but then we figured out who out actual waiter was. Wine recommendation was great and actually a value. Food was AMAZING! They've recently re-done their menu, but will still prepare any of their classics if you ask. The Sea Bass was the best I've ever had and I've ordered it all over the country. Steak was perfectly cooked (and my son is picky). Oh and the Chocolate sack is always fun to share !!
Can't say enough good things about this classic neighborhood gem! Hope to spend many more Christmas Eve's and other nights with them
Charming restaurant with an intimate feel and quiet enough for conversation, perfect for a white table cloth business dinner or special occasion. I have enjoyed 5+ outstanding small dinner parties here and will continue to come back, one of my favorite restaurants in Little Rock.
My husband and I recently ate st So to celebrate his fiftieth birthday. I had let the restaurant know in advance of the occasion so our server made everything perfect from her suggestions on the main course selections, the upgraded wine (the one I chose, the restaurant was out of) to the free celebratory dessert. It’s rare to find, in my opinion, both great food and service and So did not disappoint.
While there were many tables available in the front two rooms of the restaurant, we were seated at the very back room with just one other table who was finishing up when we were seated, so we were basically alone. Kind of odd. The wine selection is extensive and food/service were great. This place is on the expensive side, but the quality of the food matches the price point. All in all, a great little neighborhood spot. Next time, we'll hopefully be seated in at a better table.
WE CAME ON A SATURDAY EVENING !THIS PLACE WAS RECOMMENDED TO US . WHEN WE ARRIVED ,THE ENTRANCE IS IN THE BAR AREA .IT HAS A CEMENT FLOOR AND BRICK WALLS. IT WAS VERY NOISY. WE HAD TO USE THE RESTROOMS AND DISCOVERED THERE WAS ONLY ONE FOR THE WHOLE RESTAURANT. THE MEN AND WOMEN BOTH USED THIS ONE REST ROOM. THE MENU WAS WRIITEN IN SMALL PRINT AND VERY HARD TO READ. IT WAS ALSO A LITTLE DIRTY. THE SELECTION WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED ON THERE WEB SITE. SEVERAL ITEMS WERE NOT THERE. THE FOOD WAS REALLY NOT WORTH THE PRICE . THE POTOES WERE UNDER COOKED. THEY HAD FLAT NOODLES SUBSTITUTED FOR THE LINGUINI. THE CHICKEN WAS TO TOUGH TO CUT. WE HAD TO ASK FOR BREAD. IT WASN'T VERY MUCH OR VERY GOOD. THE WAITRESS NEVER OFFERED US DESERT. I GAVE IT A 2 STAR . I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A 1 STAR .
This was our first visit. The three of us may not be real foodies but we’ve tried enough restaurants to know a good one when we find one. Two chicken Marsala and a vegetarian dish were our entrees. We were pleased with the quality and presentation. The jewel was the chocolate box dessert. It was a chocoholic dream. This neighborhood gem is worth a visit.
The food at this restaurant was very good, but honestly for the money I paid for a meal and the service I received, I'd say this restaurant is highly over priced and overrated. We had dinner after 7 on a Friday night and the place was dead- yet our server was not very attentive and came by periodically. Also, he took away our wine menu after one drink, leading to us having to request it again when our entree was brought to us- I normally wouldn't let this bother me, but for the amount of money you spend on a meal for two here (which is well over $200 after tip) I expected more.
