Let me begin by saying I have been to this restaurant several times . We will never go back !
We checked into our reservation early and told the table was not ready . We said no problem , can we sit st the bar and have a glass of wine? The manager said of course ! He then promptly ignored us sitting there , he also acted as the bartender . When our table was ready the waiter came over for drink orders ... so far so good .. right ??
He then tells us to hurry up and order because it’s a busy weekend and there are only 2 servers on and hey have big parties coming in . We should have walked out at that point , but we didn’t.
The food comes ... mediocre at best and on the patio there are people smoking cigars. I mention this to the waiter and he says there is nothing he can do. I said I cannot enjoy my dinner because I cannot breath due to the smoke . He then closed all the windows in the room. This made it so hot , I asked for a manager .
In comes the manager/ bartender who ignored us at the bar.
Intel him the same thing . He picks up my dinner and caries it away and says sorry, we can move your table. At this point we were beyond frustrated .
He should have not taken my dinner away . While he took it off the bill, it was thrown out in the kitchen . I should have had the option of taking it home . The same goes for my family .
Horrible customer service , horrible if you don’t like smoke .
My opinion ... stay away.. they cared more about cigar smokers than the people eating inside.
It had been a couple of years since we tried So, and I remembered why after eating here the other night. It took a while to get seated, even though it wasn't terribly busy and we had a reservation. The waiter took 15 minutes to take our drink order, then it was another 10-15 minutes to receive them. He was surly and acted as if we were an inconvenience to him. The unisex bathroom was out of toilet paper, and when I informed the hostess, she acted perturbed and said we could use the one downstairs - which was too late by that time. The menu was different than the online menu, and was lacking the best sounding dishes that were online. We had crab cakes (too much breading), scallops (rubbery), greek salads (weird dressing), vegetable paella (gummy, no flavor, few veggies, just bad). The best dish was the chocolate box, which our server picked up with his bare hands and turned in on its side "so we could eat it easier." I've never had a server purposely touch my food with both hands before. Dinner took 2 hours, which I wouldn't mind if we didn't have to flag down our waiter for drinks and attention. The restaurant is beautiful, but the service was pretentious and neglectful. The food was not worth the wait or the price. There are so many great restaurants in Little Rock with delicious food, welcoming staff, and good service; I suggest trying one of them before going to So.
Great food, great staff and great ambiance . Definitely a new favorite.
We had a lovely evening - the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent.
First time going after suggestions from friends. Mothers day reservations for dinner.
The service was extremely slow I believe because earlier they were overwhelmed with brunch and lunch crowds. We waited and waited for our first cocktail. They ran out of spinach- chicken Marsala - and even ICE CUBES!
Do not care to return. The menu is not the best and the PRICES —for what is served— are over the top.
$40 for a few scallops on top of some risotto in the middle of a large plate !!!
Amazing!! Delicious food, great service, beautiful restaurant. We went for anniversary and the entire staff made sure we had a perfect time!!!
Started the evening off wrong when it took 20 minutes to have someone take our drink order and never recovered from it.
Great food and service.
Had dinner here. The onion soup was delicious but the Chicken Marsala lacked marsala & the gnocchi were terrible. They need to either learn how to make gnocchi or remove them from the menu,
Easter brunch was fantastic! The staff were excellent. We will be back!
We went for the Easter brunch. Excellent food, impeccable service. We will be back
Excellent service, outstanding food and beautiful setting.
It was early so I was the only one on the restaurant. Beautiful patio seating. It was a nice day so the doors were open. You could feel a light breeze. Staff was extremely friendly. Great atmosphere. I had the salmon for dinner with Creme brûlée for desert. Will definitely revisit on future trips to Little Rock.
Phenomenal. I got the special which was a lamb shank and it was the best meal I’ve had in a long time.
They must have a new chef - old favorites like the seafood fondue were mediocre- they skimped on the seafood and the spice. And maybe the cheese too, based on the consistency, tough and chewy.
Entrees - salmon and lamb - nothing to rave about.
Would definitely eat here again. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. The staff was extremely attentive to every detail. I may be wrong, but I believe they may have one the most comprehensive wine lists in Little Rock.
I got the duck. My wife got the fish special. Both were amazing
A great place for just dinner or a celebration. Great atmosphere. Fabulous wine selection.
I would suggest it to others for food & atmosphere. Our biggest issue was our server. He had a attitude from the beginning. We had a large party & he had to know he was going to get 20% tip minimum with the potential to make lots more. He just put in a below average effort. He was extremely slow in getting drinks. We had to ask for wine list. When food was delivered, one person in our party received a completely different dish than they ordered. Another concern was portion size has decreased but prices remained the same.
Megan did a great job of taking care of us! The menu is clean and has some great options.
Our server David was great. The food was excellent.
Great date spot! Adorable inside the bar is pretty and a nice wine selection. Overall the service was not great. My meal came out cold then the waiter took it back to get it warmed up for me and brought back my meal without the vegetable..
Me and my wife ate while we were visiting Little Rock. My wife had the filet and I had that nights chef special, brazed short ribs. My wife had a glass of red wine and I, a gin and tonic. We finished our meal with the chocolate sack. The food was absolutely amazing and the drinks were excellent as well. This was by far the highlight of our trip to Little Rock.
My only complaint about SO is that the restaurant was mostly empty, yet they seated us right near the door. I really wish they had seated us further away form there. Also portion sizes were slightly small.
Overall, a phenomenal experience!
SO Restaurant was a great place to have a date night or whatever the occasion may be, the staff was very generous, loved the atmosphere, oh yeah! The food was great!
Dress nicely... It seems that casual will get you seated out back..
An otherwise lovely Valentines Day experience, their food was merely mediocre. My filet was cooked medium, though I had ordered it medium rare. I would have sent it back, but it took such a long time to get it to the table, I decided to keep it. Their wine menus is fantastic. Our server was great. For the price of their food, however, the quality was not enough to make me want to go back.
It was our first time to this restaurant and it was beautiful as soon as we walked in. Our server was spot on with everything and any questions we had she answered. The food was some of the best me and my wife ever had. The red bellpepper sauce on the bay scallops and pasta was lacking a bit of flavor and heat, but overall amazing experience. We will back within a month so we’re not restricted to the smaller menu of Valentine’s Day. Thank you, SŌ!
Don't think I'll be back. I specifically requested to be seated in the front part of the restarurant on the Open Table reservation. They stuck us in the rear "extra" section. Service was intermittent at best. We saw our server about every 15-20 minutes or so. While the Valentine's Day menu looked good, the quality of the food was somewhat to be desired. The potatoes were cold, the steak was ordered medium well and came medium rare. And it was very expensive. Dinner for two and a bottle or wine, tax and tip were over $300. While I don't mind paying that for a good meal, this one wasn't worth it.
The food was delicious, the ambiance was perfect and the service was phenomenal.
We were celebrating Valentines early. The hostess and the waitress were both exceptional. I can’t say I was crazy about our seat. We were a little too close to other couples… We were seated in the two tops along the bench. My husband is hard of hearing and it did not feel very intimate. Other than that the food and the service were perfect. We made our reservations about 15 minutes before we were seated, so how can I complain? We will be back and I will ask for a booth. Also, the manager came around and spoke to us at our table. I think So is going to be our special occasion restaurant!
The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the staff was friendly and helpful. We waited for drinks for an unusual amount of time (every time) as the bar was essentially empty. Our food was over cooked and flavorless especially given the high prices. In fact, we left the restaurant still hungry and decided dessert at Petit and Keet was a better option, which it was. Anyone on the fence regarding a decision on where to have a high end meal, do yourself a favor and go to Petit and Keet, Sonny Williams, the Capital Hotel, Arthur’s, or any of the other highly regarded restaurants in Little Rock.
We had a really good time.
SO Restaurant never disappoints. Food and service are excellent and the chocolate sack dessert is always a treat and a must have for anyone visiting.
SO Restaurant exceeded every expectation that we had. It made our weekend in Little Rock absolutely perfect. We both got the filet mignon meal and it was pure excellence. It will be hard to eat steak anywhere else! Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive and answered any questions we had. he was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were spot on. It was an extremely classy and romantic setting! It was absolutely perfect
Birthday celebration for my son. It was perfect. Food was terrific. Service was exceptional. I would definitely highly recommend SO.
The best wine and service in Little Rock. Their steaks are top notch and a very large selection of wines for those special nights.
From the moment we walked into this quaint neighborhood bar and restaurant we had impeccable service. Veo, the bartender, makes the best cocktails and makes you feel welcome. We had 2 business partners with us and they were impressed with the service and quality of dinner. We enjoy sitting at the bar with Veo always!
Great food and wonderful service. We will definitely eat here again
Our brunch was the best brunch we’ve ever had! We’ve had our fair share of brunch meals in Dallas as we’ve lived in the heart of it for over 10 years and this was still one our favorite brunch meals. My husband and I shared the Baked Pancake and the Bacon Hash. The menu was not super complex but we wouldn’t ask for it any other way as every bite we ate was superb! Our waiter Luke was attentive and accommodating making us feel at home. He was also not skimpy pouring us our favorite Woodford Reserve as we have found frustrating at other restaurants. We will be back during our next visit to Little Rock.
We have only been there twice and it has been fantastic both times. The food is great along with everything else.
