Muy lento el servicio y el personal mal preparado no sabia ni servir el agua
The service was absolutely terrible. We arrived shortly before our reservation time and waited awhile for a table. Once we were seated, that was the last of our interactions with any staff. We were not given water or menus. We waited for over thirty minutes trying to be understanding because of covid. But we just had to leave. I won’t be going back for a long time.
Our waitress and the man that makes the dessert were very nice helpful and attentive. The bartender when we arrived was scattered and is the reason for the low rating.
Our Server Emily was really great! The owner Vic was super helpful making arrangements for the private room for our dinner event.
The food was really good. The servers shared they were understaffed, and unfortunately, that showed.
The food was wonderful but from the time we sat down until the first bit of food arrived at the table was just over 2 hours and even then one entree was forgotten. We had to get up and ask for drink refills on multiple occasions. The only dessert option contained alcohol which left children disappointed. This was a retirement dinner that I was in charge of booking. I have only had good experiences here in the past, but this was without exaggeration the worst experience I’ve had at any fine dining establishment in Little Rock.
I understand with covid there are difficulties in staffing and providing 5 star experiences. With that said, I went in prepared for a different level of service. I have eaten at many other restaurants during this time that were able to create a wonderful experience.
If this experience was in fact related to covid, my advice would be to remain closed until you are able to adequately take care of guests. I was embarrassed for the staff and for myself for choosing this establishment.
Outstanding food quality and great service. Did an excellent job spacing and creating a comfortable environment.
This was the 2nd time at So for my wife and me. Both times the food has been fantastic and the service top notch. It’s a wonderful place for a quiet dinner.
Fantastic food as always and amazing staff!
This was our first dinner out in Little Rock after getting married during this pandemic. It was a wonderful experience and the food was great. We shared the seafood fondue appetizer and we both had seafood entrees. She had the Martini Scallops and I had the Scottish Salmon. What a joy it was to get back into a great restaurant and have no worries about our dining experience.
The food is just amazing. The wine selection is multitudinous. One of the finest restaurants in the Little Rock area.
Good food, good service and good atmosphere equal a veryy good dinner out to celebrate.
Little high for small menue selections, but the food was great!
Always excellent food and service. New menu is fantastic.
We LOVED it! The food was wonderful, with appropriate portion sizes, and the wine selection was great. Would recommend to anyone looking for a laid back experience with a menu you can' find anywhere else.
Used to be fantastic before change in philosophy
It was perfect!
There was a big party on a Saturday night and apparently it overwhelmed the kitchen. As a result, the service was very slow. If not for that, it would have been a very good experience.
The experience was great 'loved the level of culinary that was presented. A little slow with getting the food out 'but with the food tasting as good as it was I could over look that.
#1. Ask for bread waiter said he would get us some never got any
#2. Ordered a second glass of wine took almost 15 minutes to get one
#3. Would have been nice to know there was a limited menu I was not told when I made my reservations 230.00 after tip and left hungry.
#4. When booking ask for them to write a message on dessert plate with chocolate ( to make the evening alittle more special ) was even in the notes on “ open table “. They did not.
Love this place. Such good food and great atmosphere! Made our birthday celebration
SO great!!!! 💜
From other reviews, service seems to be a major problem. Took 10-15 minutes to get a glass of wine. From time we ordered it seemed an eternity before food appeared. One chicken dish was tough to point of being ineatable. Other food was OK but served lukewarm. I suspect it had sat under the warmer for quite some time. This dinner was celebrating a birthday but was never acknowledged. All in all, very disappointinig compared to prior experiences under former ownership. Had planned on dessert but decided 2 hours was long enough so passed. Also, valet was no where in sight when we pulled up front. After we were seated he came to the table and asked if I wanted him to move my car to the valet parking. I asked if it was in his way and he said it was not....I passed!
Food was great. Sea bass had great flavor. Salmon was delicious. Tres leches was tasty, but not quite the famous tres leches they used to serve. It is more-so a pound cake. The service unfortunately was quite slow. Our server was very nice and polite and apologized for the wait. It seems they were understaffed.
Excited about this restaurant and hope it continues to grow under the new leadership.
Sunday evening. Quiet. Food was delicious. Service was good but very slow. Was told there was a fifteen person party in the back. Wanted a particular drink but was also told they didn’t have a bartender that night. Ordered a wine that was spectacular but still missed my Sazerac. Didn’t have desert because we had been there so long. Maybe next time. Still love the place and food was spot on!
Took nearly two hrs to get our food. We will not be back. Very disappointed
Great food and service!! Unique place!!
To be fair this review is based on dining that took place on New Years Eve. The Prix Fixe menu options were ok, but the taste of the food was well, not great. The person who ordered all vegetarian options seemed to have the best luck overall, but when paying for expensive dining luck isn’t what your looking for....The best things going for So are it’s quaint ambience and it’s bartender.
This is the place we always go to whenever there is a special occasion that being disappointed is not an option. Best restaurant in central Arkansas. It is not cheap. Neither is the food.
Excellent food and fantastic service.
Excellent food. The ambiance is spectacular as you eat in a hidden cave. Great wine. Menu has expanded considerably. As people have said the tres leches and chocolate sack desserts are unmatched in the city.
We came in to celebrate our anniversary and noticed there were only two other tables of people dining. We were sat in the very back room (almost like an enclosed patio). It took about 5 minutes before we were greeted and given water. The server didn’t introduce himself and was very rushed. We ordered one drink and a shrimp cocktail appetizer immediately. When he checked back, we ordered our meal (Chicken with Shishito and Scallops). It took well over an hour to receive our food. At least 30 minutes in between without seeing our server to ask for another drink or water. He told us there was a party of 10 downstairs and that was why it was taking so long. During the few brief times the server checked on us, he kept calling my husband “my man.” Very off putting. There was another gentleman (possibly maitre d?) Who actually spent more than 30 seconds talking to us. He explained menu items, refilled water, and was apologetic about the wait. When the food finally arrived, it tasted good. That’s the only positive thing I can say. But for the menu prices, you are paying for the whole experience, which was terrible. We were there 2 full hours and declined to stay for dessert. After the bill was presented we were told they took off my husband’s drink. Very too little, too late. There were so many missed opportunities to make the insane wait more bearable (how about bring bread to the table? Or have the server spend a minute or two building rapport. Or offer to buy an anniversary dessert instead of asking if we have time for desert, then joking that’ll it’ll be quicker than dinner “my man”). We were very disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Very slow service on a not too busy night, but the food was excellent.
We were happy with everything but the music choice and volume
We LOVE So and are super happy with the updated menu. We have tried almost all of the shared plates and have the sommelier pair wines for us each time we dine. Each pairing has been perfect. The service is always on point. So continues to be one of LR's best restaurants!
From the beginning it was a disaster. Poor service, under cooked steak and overall a disappointment to be celebrating such a great occasion (my wife’s 50th birthday).
Best part was the free desert which we all enjoyed at home.
It had been awhile since we had dined at So. Glad we came back, mussels/clams were excellent and I can recommend the sea bass and duck. Overall, a great meal and enjoyable. Will return soon!
Restaurant has a very good wine and drinks selection. The food and service were average and much less than expected from a restaurant at this price point.
Great service! Very carrying! Definitely will back!
While I would still recommend SO, my second dinner in 2 weeks here was somewhat disappointing. Once again we had somewhat simple questions about the food that the waiter was unable to answer. (Please, for a restaurant of this caliber - learn was comes with entrees and what some of the sauces are!) A steak wasn't cooked anywhere near what was ordered. It wasn't too busy (a Wednesday night) and yet it took quite some time to get our second round of drinks, as in, maybe he forgot? Deserts this time: creme brûlée was tiny (I didn't taste it) and the white cake was lousy (but I don't like white cake so maybe that's on me). I still like this place, especially the ambience. However, dinner #3 (whenever that will be) will be a make-it or break-it occasion.
Should be 10 stars! High praise and no complaints ! Will be our “go to” restaurant for special occasions!
