We arrived early and were seated immediately. We had a great waitress who explained the menu. She provided great service throughout the evening. We were pleasantly surprised when the chef came out and gave us a gift certificate and wished us happy anniversary. We were even more surprised when the Manager gave us a bottle of wine. What a cool place. We will be back.
Amazing food, friendly and genuine service!
I should lead by saying it was the weekend prior to St. Patrick’s Day in Deadwood so it was not expected to be a quiet, romantic meal. There was one couple in particular dining at the same time we were who were very intoxicated and loud. Thank goodness it didn’t last long as they were finishing up when we were starting so they left.
The sea bass was delicious and very well prepared, the ribeye was very thin but well seasoned and the rosemary butter on top was spot on. The charcuterie board and grilled bread with garlic infused EVOO was by far the best part of the entire meal both in taste and value. The cocktails were fresh and creative as always. We have been here several times and will be back.
The food was excellent! Best fine dining in the black hills!
Great find... Stop by next time your visit Deadwood
Food was amazing, high class food, portions were wonderful and filling. The Melody drink and Old fashioned were both spectacular. We will definitely be going again for another date night in Deadwood, as the mood was romantic and laid back.
Worst service I think we have ever had. Food was just okay, they have a lot of kinks to work out to call it fine dining. The servers and manger were very unprofessional. We will not be returning and will not be recommending this as a place to eat.
Food was excellent for main course. The sides were so-so. Wait time between salad and main course was very long.
The server was terrible. She would come check on her tables, and then dissappear into the kitchen for a while. Three drinks came out at one time, the first al drink came out 10 minutes later. When we went to pay the bill, we asked for it to be split and she did not do that. Finally flagged down another wait staff to split the bill. Then gave our bill with my card to our first waitress and she didn't run the card until I asked her to do in 10 minutes later. If she is working, I would not go back.
Everything was excellent, great service, great food and drinks.
Had to change tables, the fans were blowing cold air (it was -12 outside). We had the Valentines special, appetizer and salads came out fast, waited for almost an hour for entrees. The duck was too salty, the lemon cream sauce over the steak was cold. Not worth the price.
What a great find! Food was first class and service was excellent. New favorite place in Deadwood.
Wonderful service, excellent food, fantastic team of professionals delivering the BEST MEAL in Deadwood, SD! Beats anyplace in Rapid City too. Worth a drive
Snitches food and service was amazing!!!!
Snitches has a chill Roaring Twenties vibe with an upscale steak house menu. Really enjoyed scallops and steak tips for starters. Friendly staff and our filet, ribeye and sea bass were prepared expertly. Looking forward to visiting again.
Our waitress was very attentive but seemed to not have much knowledge of the food except "all was good." Liked the small atmosphere. Food was fine. Nice to see a place trying to serve finer food and not burgers or a buffet.
We had the best meal. The shrimp on one of our meals was way over cooked. Aside from that our other meals were fantastic.
Eaten at Snitches twice, they are my 2 favorite meals I've ever eaten in my entire life! Not only is the food beyond amazing, the hospitality by Chef Tucker and the entire team is unlike any other dining experience I've ever had. Can't wait to go back! Worth the 3 hour drive from central SD!
One of the best places to eat in deadwood. Don’t let the menu fool you, try the sampler.
The rabbit pasta was amazing.
The service was outstanding, I cannot express how impressed we were,
If you eat dinner at any place other than Snitches while within sixty miles of Deadwood, you failed dinner. The items on the limited menu are prepared with knowledge and love. The service is unsurpassed, but not too formal. Simply put - go here to eat. I had the scallops appetizer (off menu), the bison meatballs with polenta, and pistachio cake.
What a gem! We enjoyed an exceptional culinary experience at Snitches. If you appreciate farm to table, innovative and flavor filled entrees - with amazing service, you will love Snitches! Our evening began with drinks at the bar from their drink menu and they were spectacular - made by Tucker, who also happens to be the chef. My husband had the Snitches Old Fashioned and I had The Melody. The menu is limited, but everything sounded amazing so we decided to try it all. The first course was the salad and scallops. I'm still thinking of those scallops! They were perfectly cooked - the flavors of the rice, the light fennel and corn sauce were incredible. The pasta course was terrific - the pasta was al dente and the braised rabbit sauce was rich and flavorful. We next course were two entrees - the Wagyu and the Bison Meatballs. My favorite dish of the night was the bison meatballs. They were tasty, tender, and the sauce was spectacular!!! The Wagyu was great also, I'm just not that much of a beef fan! We asked for advice from Tucker on pairing the wine with our entrees and the selections were spot on! The restaurant is small, but plenty of space to social distance. Each time a course was delivered to the table, there was an explanation offered of the origin of the items and exactly what was being served. Thank you Tucker and staff for our best meal of 2020!!
We came to Deadwood to redo a birthday because we were on quarantine. Both my boyfriend and I are nurses and have been on the front line since the pandemic started. The staff was very hospitable and friendly. They brought out our dessert with a special happy birthday message. The food was spectacular!! Highly recommend!!
We could not stop talking about our dining experience at Snitches. Every thing that we ordered Was exceptional. I ordered the rabbit pasta and the pasta was light and the sauce incredible.. my companion had the bison meatballs on polenta also amazing. Please don’t hesitate to try this exceptional restaurant
Such great personal attention, well crafted cocktails, nice wine list and the staff are knowledgeable about them, and the food? By far the best restaurant in town, like seriously there isn’t even any competition.
Wife an I made reservation on Opentable with no idea how wonderful Snitches is.
Appetizers were simply excellent. We have never had better scallops anywhere, any country. Complex taste that had us both raving.
The bar is excellent!
Main courses were outstanding.
Service from the moment we walked in was personable and warm. We felt like we were special guests. The executive chef spent time with us, the lady who waited on us was so much fun we simply loved the experience.
Service was very slow and we were only one of two parties. Scallops were over-salted - hiding freshness. Ordered Wagyu - not up to par with any we have had before. Server was chatting it up with another party when we needed to pay and leave. I finally went up to front to pay. Although I didn’t say anything she was still defensive, “Oh. Sorry. Most people here aren’t in a hurry.” We were there 90 min for a two course meal with only one other table. WTH?!
We picked this restaurant based on them service salmon and scallops as advertised on Open Table. We were suppose to dine the night before but ended up somewhere else so we thought we'd try this for lunch. The server was very friendly but the selections of food were slim if you didn't eat meat. 3/4 of our group were fish only eaters so imagine our disappointment when she told us that there was only FRIED cod. The fish part was great but the breading was too much. The ambience is very pretty almost mini-Vegas like, However using OpenTable for specific reasons ( to find seafood/fish) wasted our time. We saw some burgers being served and if you are a meat eater, they looked great, just didn't work for us.
Nothing like in Deadwood ... top notch, will return. Creative, fun & daring menu.
great little restaurant for a quiet date. Did the tasting menu and it was very good. Would highly recommend it if you have never been there.
Best meal on our trip and was blown away by the food.
Kinda weird looking at slot machines while you eat. If this restaurant were in our home town, it would be a place we would often frequent. The pistachio cake was amazing and so were the veal cheeks.
Lovely dinner with friends to celebrate birthdays. Food was amazing, and loved the wine pairing! We will be back.
We did the 4 course option with wine pairing, and enjoyed it throughly. Chef is very talented, Culinary Instutute of America trained, and shows off his creativity with very tasty dishes. Wine list is quite refreshing, with many selections from around the globe, not just the usual same wines you see at every restaurant. My only ding would be the red wines were served quite cold, and didn’t reach proper serving temperature. Overall, great food, great service!
Tastes and textures I’ve never had before. Hostess was great and the waitress explained each coarse to me. Many of these items I had never had before. Outstanding!
Nothing was great and they messed up a steak
Rob, we're sorry to hear that your meal wasn't properly prepared. Our Wagyu is a Guest favorite, and assure you that this does not regularly happen. We'd love to invite you back to try us again.
Fabulous food for a fair price with great service in a quaint town; what’s not to love?
Fried quail legs? Crispy tasty. Pasta with cuttlefish ink and braised rabbit? Al dente delicious. Wagyu with creamy mashed potatoes and a hint of gravy? Succulent. Chocolate terrine, saffron ice cream with raspberries; yummmm. Fantastic Melody cocktails and chilly blonde beer on tap. All topped off with friendly attentive service by [I’m so sorry I forgot your name!]; warm, generous and caring hostessing by AGM Xanthi; and a lucky-for-us visit with Tucker, the funny, worldly and charming chef.
Thank you all for a great experience!
Keep doing what you’re doing!
Greetings from MA and NJ.
Good evening! Thank you both for joining us for dinner. It was lovely chatting with the two of you and we can't wait to have you back! Next time you're here we'll have a whole new menu ready for you to enjoy your way through. Take care and see you soon!
Absolutely, unequivocally, the best food we've had in awhile. This is a 4 course meal and you expect the food to be good but the chef does an amazing job and you can tell he loves what he does! It shows in his dishes. Our friends who usually don't go out of their comfort zone of steak and cheeseburgers accompanied us this time and they were blown away that they were eating rabbit, lobster, scallops, etc. The food is also the perfect amount and spaced out perfect. You leave not overly stuffed but not starving either. Great job with this venture! My only request would be to add some more exotic food (e.g. kangaroo, etc.).
Good evening! We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your dining experience and thank you very much for your kind words. It's wonderful that your friends encountered various dishes that catered well to their palates - Chef Tucker does a great job in ensuring our menu is well rounded. We will be switching our menu in the near future and would love to have you all back to try our newest creations!
Great 4 course. Tasting menu. All the food was fantastic. Service was fantastic also. Highly recommend.
David, we're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience. Thank you and please return shortly!
This experience was interesting. We spent 3 hours because we waited 45 minutes between each of the 4 courses. While "fine dining" includes spending a period of time eating and enjoying the food, there was clearly an issue in the kitchen and/or with wait staff. We got the 4 course meal with wine pairings for $90 per person. We wanted an experience that was higher level than just a steakhouse in Deadwood and we were disappointed with the overall experience. The food was pretty good but didn't rise the level of the experience that was advertised. The wait staff needs additional training on how to wait tables at a "fine dining" restaurant. There was lack of knowledge about the wine pairings and we seemed to just have random wines brought with the food. The location of the restaurant within the casino and next to the restroom caused drunk people to walk through the restaurant, set their drinks on a table in the restaurant, use the restroom then come back and retrieve their drink from the restaurant table. Overall, if there was some better training and eye on "fine dining", this restaurant could survive, but it needs some help.
Great food. Good service. Casino is a little loud, but not to distracting.
Blown away. Exceptional fine dining in what feels like the back corner of a casino. Don't let the location fool you though, this place is legit. The Chef here and his team are taking what they are putting out seriously. There's clearly a lot of thought put into each dish on the menu and the wine list is outstanding. A chef's tasting menu with wine pairings for each course is available. There's also quite the list of unique and delicious cocktails on offer. Possibly the best meal I've had in the Black Hills. Definitely the best restaurant in Deadwood by miles. Would return to Deadwood just to eat here again. Had the scallops starter, the lobster pasta, salmon main, and pistachio cake dessert. All had wonderful and complex flavors. Each course was equally impressive and outstanding. Describing them wouldn't do them justice. My best suggestion is that you go try them for yourself.
