Snakes & Lattes - Tempe
Awesome place. Especially for date night!! Super amazing!!
It is a very fun venue, and there tends to be a lot of other people playing games! It is a very fun venue to just relax and have fun!
We didn’t have food, just beverages and played games and had a great time!
We had SO much fun!!!! Can’t wait to go back. We wish there was one closer but it’s worth the drive.
Amazing time with lots of fun had by all.
The seats are HARD. We spent about 5 hours there on Saturday and my butt/hips hurt the whole next day. I’d pay $10/table if I could get a seat cushion.
Food is ridiculously bad. Woman teaching a game to us lost patience and said “ if its too much for you we can put it back on the shelf”. WTH. Needed a fork for the tomato soup which I thought would be easy and safe. It was jarred pizza sauce I think. And the grilled cheese wasn’t toasted. The chicken sandwich was super greasy and just bad. We go here to play and know the food is just blah at best but this is a new low.
Our server, Christie, was fantastic. The food came out one at a time. So some were eating and
others were waiting. It should have all come out at the same time. It was good.
Again our server was a cute blonde who was training another cute brunette.
The atmosphere was probably a bit too loud to really enjoy playing some of the games that were available, especially with a large group that I had (10 people). Food was alright, service was good.
Always a blast, I've been a regular here for a few months now. The board game selection is fantastic, and the game gurus always manage to recommend hits for any player count. I love their enthusiasm in explaining the games so that it doesn't feel like they're just spitting out rules. The servers were also great and checked in on my very large group often and I don't believe anyone had any issues with wait times. It's also really handy that we can just check out right where we're sitting. I can't speak toward the food though as I only ordered a drink.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a shot. Even if you don't think you're into board games, it's always nice to find one that really sticks. If S<empe can handle my group of 30+ and make it fun for all of them, any group you have will surely taken care of as well.
Very limited menu. For a glorified bar, their appetizers/munchies selection is pretty poor. No Tater Tots? Isn't that illegal in any establishment aimed at GenXers? Mediocre burger. Side salad was decent. And what was the deal with suddenly lowering the lights? People are supposed to play board games in the dark? No parking validation, so with their not-so-cheap prices, the total cost adds up fast. Meh.
Fun place. 10 of us played 2 different games at our table. It was a crowded Sat night, but we could still hear each other. I love the concept of the business.
Pretty disappointed with this place. I tried it a while back and received poor service and terrible food (was told they had a new chef) but they gave us a discount so I shrugged it off. Went back over the weekend and they seated and served us before mentioning their AC was out AFTER we asked to turn the AC up. It was 107 degrees outside! I thought it was very bad business to lock us into staying before mentioning that. It should have been brought to our attention immediately upon entering.
Service was terrible. Waiter would take glass for a refill but wouldn't return. Food took far too long to come out, some food never arrived. What food did arrive was poor quality.
Food and drinks are pretty sub par. Concept is great! Would be an excellent spot if the food and drink standard was raised.
My friends and I had a good time. The game guru was helpful. The highlight was the fun we had playing games. The tacos , were good, but my friends salad looked really great! We stayed for three hours, chatting and playing games, we didn't realize how the time passed.
