We went with friends who had visited once before. The service was very good, the food plentiful and well-prepared, and the wine list includes several Greek grape varieties seldom seen in the US. The saganaki and the mixed grill were both very nice.

Tasty food in an inconspicuous strip mall that definitely defies expectations. Perfect for a date with your beau or girlfriends, Smyrna’s decor and ambience definitely transports you to the Mediterranean. Think: Santorini or Mykonos. Great spreads and desserts. Unique and refreshing mezzes and good apricot juice. Will definitely be coming back.

Smyrna is a great addition to "Best restaurants" in Alexandria. They just opened their back patio which is very pleasant especially when the weather is nice. They carry excellent choice of wine and "raki" and "uzo". Delicious, healthy "mezes" from Aegean cost in Turkey. Their moussaka is amazing! Of course, turkish coffee" after such an amazing dinner! Thanks Smyrna!!!

This was our first visit to Smyrna Restaurant and it won't be our last. The food and service were excellent. We really enjoyed the dip appetizer and the Moussaka was yummy!

This was our second time at Smyrna, and we were blown away with each bite. The flavors remind my wife and I of our honeymoon in Greece where we enjoyed delicious, fresh cooked Greek cuisine daily. I’m so happy we found this restaurant, and I hope it will be around for a long time.

Our first visit here and we will be back. The fun was excellent and service perfect. Friendly helpful staff presented a variety of Greek and Turkish foods and wines. We Tried several different selections and enjoyed them all. Even the Turkish wine a red blend was excellent. Highly recommend

Great personal service and delicious food! Have eaten here twice and the owner always engages with customers. Not an eggplant fan, but at the recommendation of the owner, found the Mousaka wonderful! Next time we’ll try the flaming cheese!

Excellent Greek food in a small shopping center venue! The $21 lunch special was superb - hummus w/ pita triangles, falafel patties, and baklava were all excellent. Baklava was sweet but not dripping with honey - just enough. Service was slow to start, but then was quite attentive. This is a neighborhood gem - try it!

Tried a variety of mezze: Brussels sprouts, shrimp, fries and grilled halloumi. Everything was great and the service was extremely attentive. Dessert was the kataifi, which came as a sizable portion — easily enough for two — and was delicious. For drinks we tried the coffee martini and 6 pm in Bodrum, fantastic on both. Also had a mocktail, pomegranate spritz. Less sweet than expected, unfortunately. Highly recommend and looking forward to returning.

Standout food, service and ambiance. Great value for the price. We went for lunch for a family celebration and many of us got the express lunch menu, which was incredible. The sampler of dips - every one of them was great. The appetizers were all amazing - the octopus was a particular stand out. We also ordered the branzino in parchment - incredibly tasty, light and well-seasoned. And the service was impeccable! Reminded us of Jose Andres’ Zaytinya at half the price. We highly recommend.

Our dinner was excellent, we shared the dolmades, which were delicious, and had entrees including Keftedes (husband said was excellent, nicely spiced), daughter had Chicken Souvlaki, and I had the Branzino in Parchment (highly recommend). We all felt the portions were ample. For dessert, we shared Kataifi, also highly recommended. Our server was attentive. Though a small restaurant, it didn’t feel crowded, and we never felt rushed (as in some restaurants). We’ll definitely dine here again. Make sure you make reservations!

I went the first time and ordered the falafel, the cheese pastries and the grilled meat. I was not a fan of the falafel nor the cheese pastries. But I liked the grilled meat. It was tasty although I wish they serve a different type of rice with it. Something with spices or flavor. Then I gave it another chance and ordered the sampler platter. It was good. The beets labneh was the best. I got the octopus which was a hit. Then ordered the mixed grill for 2. The chicken souvlaki was the yummiest, the grilled meat çop sis was juicy and tender, the lamb chops were good, the keftedes meat and chicken were my least favorite.

The food was not Greek but from Turkey. Overall the owner and servers were very cordial but the food was a bit skimpy for the price. The food tasted okay but not great for Mediterranean food that we were expecting!

Very nice new restaurant in the featuring Turkish and Greek specialties. Very small - and intimate. Service was fast, and the food came out quickly. We started with the traditional saganaki (flaming cheese). I had the fixed price lunch which was just the right amount of food. My husband had the cheese omelet and the bread basket. Definitely will go back there!
