    Restaurant needs a refresh. Dining area needs a good cleaning. We were bothered by flies during most of our visit. Service was sub-optimal. Remember more pleasant visits in earlier days.

    It was a great experience, except that service for first drink was very slow. It took us 30 minutes to get a drink. Once we got a drink, a manager finally took our food order and after that things went very well. The staff was wonderful and attentive after that first 30 minutes.

    Service was fantastic! Our food was ok- we had broiled entree and they were a bit dried out- the lobster- the shrimp snd scallops were just on the dry side which took away from the flavor

    Our server, Kristi T, was personable, helpful and knowledgeable. The 4 of us enjoyed our dinners. Kristi professionalism and friendliness made the evening very enjoyable.

    Aweful!!! Took forever to get a drink even though we had a reservation and arrived on time. The calamari was like chewing rubber bands. The filet tasted aweful. Swordfish was raw. We received our appetizer and ordered our dinner, but Before we had a chance to go to the salad bar the entrees showed up. Don’t waste your time there. A piece of fish and a steak which cost $39.99 each should be delicious and brought to you at the right time. Aweful experience!!!

    Monday night at Smuggler's Cove is Mussel night. However, when we arrived for our reservation at 5:30, there were no mussels left. We specifically postponed our trip home to come here for Mussel Night. Such a disappointment. We asked to be seated on the patio, which is comfortably appointed. However, they did not have the waitstaff to accommodate the patio area. We waited a very long time for our dinner to arrive, but I would like comment here that it was not the fault of the waitress; this restaurant does not have the waitstaff it needs, again no fault of the restaurant...the college students are back at school leaving them short staffed. We have been to this restaurant many times over the 20+ years we have been coming to the Poconos and will continue to patronize here.

    Definitely a great experience. The food was good and the waitress was unbelievably helpful,pleasant,and upbeat. She recommended dishes and brought the food quickly to the table. Also brought drink orders quickly. Overall great experience enhanced by a great waitress.

    Really inexpensive place to enjoy seafood! I heavily enjoyed the raw oysters and the clams casino, but my partner had seafood gumbo, which he loved! And a lobster roll that he wasn’t particularly impressed by. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive and the overall experience was great for my first time. As a local, I would come back!

    Whenever we are in Pocono area we come to Smugglers Cove. Great food and service. Inexpensive and atmosphere is reminiscent of old seafood restaurants.

    Usually a good spot for good food with friendly staff. This time service at the front desk in particular was absolutely poor. Had a reservation but manager saw us then turned and stood with her back to us for a few minutes and didn't acknowledge our presence. Was finally seated at a wet table top but then it took 10-minutes for wait staff to appear just as we were preparing to walk out. There are too many other good places to eat now in the Poconos to consider spending my money for subpar service here.

    Ordered filet mignon and meat was tough. Waitress (who was awesome) took it back for a re-fire and it took 20 minutes in which time my wife had finished her entree. Second attempt and steak was even tougher to cut. Took it to go and ended up throwing it on the side of the road for some lucky animal to devour.

    Everything was wonderful. We sat in the outside area, which was great. It was less noisy than if we sat inside. Our server was knowledgeable, quick and friendly. The crab was amazing as was everything else! Great value for what you get.

    Regrettably, though our waiter was nice, he was not particularly attentive. We waited a long time for drinks and over an hour for our entrees. My son’s lobster was terrific. However, my husband’s stuffed flounder was over cooked and dried out. They ran out of steamed broccoli for our side and the only option was Brussel sprouts, no mention of the vegetable of the day which was zucchini and squash. By the time we were finally finishing our meal, they were cleaning up the restaurant around us to close. Very disappointed with the whole evening. It was for my son’s birthday, which we made them aware of both here on Open Table as well as when we were seated.

    We were seated in a small section with only 3 or 4 tables but we all had different servers. It made no sense and ours seemed frazzled bc she running from on end of the restaurant to another. At one point she disappeared for 10 minutes before we could place the order. Secondly, the place needs a face lift. Needs updated lightening. Why are there mob photos and Frank Sinatra’s mug shot on the wall of seafood restaurant? Some of antiques are great but they could be incorporated into new decor Menu changes. Portions are smaller. I literally got one big piece of broccoli as a side. Awful. Do away with side options to reduce cost and give more. My plate looked so sad. Also, the two different choices of entrees sizes is dumb. My crab cake got smaller since the last time I ate one. Should be one option. Seafood is always fresh and delicious but with the rising cost of everything it’s just not worth the money.

    We usually have an excellent time at Smugglers. It's our go to place. However last night was a disappointment. Our waitress did not approach the table for over 15 minutes. She was not friendly. After the meal was served she did not return to see if everything was ok and bring my drink. She brought the drink after we were done with the meal My husband's dinner came with 8 French fries. Not sure if this us the new norm or an off night

    The food was very good but the service was really terrible. I think they were understaffed but it took a long time for our server to even come get our order and all the way through. The apps came and no plates or forks given. We kept looking for our server to ask for forks but after not seeing her for so long, we asked another server walking by. She says she’s not our server and rather than getting us forks, she has to go get someone else to get it for us. The amount of effort it took for her to ask someone else, she could have just given us forks.

    Blah and expensive. We picked this over Red Lobster. I think we made the wrong choice! My $40 seafood medley was bland and included 2 crab legs-no claws. Hardly any meat inside. Sent back the streamers appetizer because I couldn’t chew and swallow the clams. No broth to dip in-very dry. Our server tried, but she was totally overwhelmed. My wedge salad was forgotten, and turned into my dessert! Sadly, the best part of dinner were the rolls! Dinner for two was 90 bucks plus tip! Not worth it!

    Our waitress was so patient with us while trying to decide what we wanted to order on the menu. It was our first time there my husband and I took my mother and father out for my father’s birthday. She kept checking on us. Very friendly and professional. I forgot her name Megan or Heather. But she was amazing. Food was great!!
